Judy-Thanks I needed that
The is actually a 14 1/2 hr. trip. My son and I had great talks all the way there.
Yesterday he got the kids. We did some Christmas and then an Easter Egg hunt at the park as well as fly a kite.
The kids were nervous at first, but soon realized Daddy and Nana were no different and were not going to alienate them from their mother.
We had a great time and so did he kids..

Nina, I've been there and you are not too old. Just wait, when the kids get there and you become accustomed to their energy you'll feel way younger. I miss that.

See you later,

hi everyone

Spent the whole day getting the bedrooms ready for the kids. Also getting ready to go to CA. Son and I leave early in the morning. It is a 12 hour drive. Pick up the kids on the 3rd.
We ran into a snag for testing the kids. The public schools won't do it unless they are enrolled in the school. My daughter has called the board of education etc. etc. etc. and we got the same thing for all schools. Even though the judge ordered it.
My daughter called so many people and finally one of them checked and the EX had an affidavit to home school in Apache county (the county we use to live in). With that supposedly he can get them tested in Apache county instead of Navajo county at the school. We do not care where just has to be in AZ. Pray the St. Johns School district will do it.
Hopefully I will have time to get on and chat with you all.
did not have time to answer each one of you.
I am exhausted. At my birthday in March I am 63 and too old for all this stuff. At least feels like that tonight.
chat later
Nina

Thank you for your prayers. My doctor told me to quit the Metformin and we'll see how that goes. Also did more labs. I'm relieved to get a positive response.

Ann, That was a good buy on candy and for a good cause. I'm glad your DH got his treats, too.

Patty, if you like mysteries you would love the books by J A Jance. She writes three different characters. I've only read the one about Detective J P Beaumont. Now I am reading them in the order they were written and can't put them down when I start one. You can go to her web site and get the list of her books.

Hi Again!

Ann, that was so sweet of you to contribute to the lady who is sending candy to the Military.

Judy, I know people laugh at me when I say "It is dry heat" but it really is. Anyway, when it gets up in the 100's we have central air throughout our home, we have air conditioned cars and the stores are air conditioned. If I want to walk outside, I go either very early in the morning or later in the evening in the summer. However, I know a lot of people that cannot live in hot weather. I really feel that is one reason GOD made different climates! I am one of those "nuts" who live the heat!

Jan, I have been praying that you feel better. I am praying that you find out what is wrong.

Patty, your walks do sound nice. I am also glad you have kept your blog. I love looking at the things you made. I pray that your husband feels better.

If I left anyone out, please forgive me as I did not do it on purpose. I just cannot remember anything that was posted.

Everyone, Please Have A Great Rest Of Monday! emoticon

GOD BLESS!
Louise

So many inquiring minds today...lol

Let's see, Judy, yes, we got a tiny bit of snow today. Our ground is still covered with snow, and we have huge banks still of snow pushed off the driveways.

Ann, when I walk, I just wear whatever pants that I have on. It is only for not over a mile, 20 min. tops. so I can stand that with just pants on...lol

Ann again, Even though you bid higher on your game, the opening bid was 29.99. So that is the bid amount, unless someone else places a higher bid, it stays at that price...now, if someone bid 30.50 say, your bid of 31 would be higher, so you would pay that price unless someone else bid higher...hope you can understand how I am explaining it...
I was surprised the first time that happened to me too. Isn't it easy peasy? Ebay makes it so easy to buy and sell there...too easy peasy if you ask me...lol

have a good evening girls

oh, found about 10 or 12 good mysteries at the senior center. I take them, read them and pass them on to my 87 year old cousin, and she passes them on to her neices and grand neices...free of charge...now isn't that fun?

Good Afternoon all. I did grocery shopping today. I was so happy the way this shopping experience turned out. Yeah I know buying food and spending money isn't fun but this was fun for me. Several times I have been out to the commissary after a holiday and the holiday candy is marked down. Way down. In the past I've seen ladies just loading up their carts and I mean really loading them up. I asked one lady one time and she was buying to ship to the military over seas. And she said yes. So today being after Easter the area of Easter candy was a zoo. On top of that the flyers with ads and coupons at the entrance desk, had a coupon for $1.00 of Mars candy. (Snickers, Milky Way, M & M etc)

One older lady had a lot of candy in her cart today and I asked her if she was shipping it to the mlitary over seas and she said no, she was passing it out to her elderly neighbors. The next lady I asked was flying to the Philipines to visit family and taking candy to them. The third lady I asked was shipping it to the military. I asked her if I could make a donation and she said that certainly would be nice. I clipped some more coupons for her and gave her a bill. That made my day. Even the longer than usual check out line didn't bother me.

I was telling DH my story when I got home and he asked me where his candy was. I don't think he has yet noticed the two bags of snickers on the table.

Patty, when you go out walking in your cold cold weather, what do you wear for slacks? I mean do you find corduroy or jeans warm or do you wear Cuddle Duds? Even on cold days around here jeans just don't seem very warm on my legs.

Jan, I hope you get to the bottom of your upset tummy. DH has had that and Dr. took him off the bone density meds and I don't think it has gotten better. Dr. wants him to have the annual shot for bones but he is really hesitant.

Patty, I got my bid for the bridge game. Funny thing is the asking price was $29.99 and I bid $31.00. According to the e's I've gotten it's only going to cost me $29.99. I didn't think there would be any competition for this game as there have been quite a few for sale. Ours is so old the buttons don't always work and the paint has worn off the buttons. The one I bid on looked in very good shape. They don't make them any more.

I wanted to buy some asparagus for my supper as DH won't be here for supper as he isn't suppose to eat it. Well, what they had at the store didn't look very good so I'll either have to make a trip to the produce store or have it another day. I get the 4 times a year Kraft recipe booklets and copied several recipes I want to try. They really aren't lo cal but I can cut the calories myself. After I copied a bunch that I wanted I will mail them off to my DIL She loves to cook and is so good at it.

Let's start at the beginning, (Can you hear Julie Andrews),

Patty, Are you doing a stained glass afghan? I have done several of those. I like doing them because I can finish off at any ring. So the project can be a bed spread or an afghan or a lap robe. All will look like a stained glass window because each color is framed in black. I haven't seen any framed in white.

Jan, I think your video idea is super.

Patty again, I am so sorry your weather is so bad this year. I don't remember any winter that lasted so long when I lived in Michigan. I was very young then and the memories aren't so sharp. I do remember the cold, rainy, blustery springs, but I thought those were in March. I guess it was March until yesterday.

Louise, I don't get along well with heat. It has been a problem all my life. Thank goodness my first husband landed a job in Seattle. At the time neither I nor anyone in my family knew the climate here in the Pacific Northwest. My mother thought I'd be covered with snow when I sent her pictures of fushias growing in front of our house. Mind you we also sent in that set of pictures a picture of us in front of a snow bank up on Mount Rainier. That picture is what she expected, and it is the one she saw first. Anyway, 89 degrees is about 9 degrees above my highest comfort level. I would be taking serious cooling measures.

Jan, You are correct, we are only allowed one strip per day. I find that to be silly because we need to keep closer track when we aren't yet taking medication. I have had to buy strips several times because I am trying hard to keep track of when I spike. I have gotten pretty regular lately so I am using fewer strips. I find it amazing that we have to use our medical products according to some bean counter's program.

So, here we are, it is April Fools day and I don't have a single child around to fool. What a bummer. Driving school bus was really fun on April Fools day. I got to play some really good pranks on the kids. I can't remember the pranks, only the reactions. Of course the kids took those pranks in to their teachers who were fully aware of what was coming and had plans to turn the pranks around on the kids. We had so much fun.

Enough reminiscing for today. I'll see you tomorrow unless I want to respond to another note today.

Love, Judy emoticon

Just got in from my walk. 3/4 mile in that cold and windy, very windy weather outside...It is 27 out...brrr. I am chilled in my legs, but that will soon be remedied by the wood stove...

Hubby is not feeling very good today, so he took a hot water bottle and took to the couch for a while...poor hubby emoticon

ok, nothing else to report as of now...lol

Good morning Patty & Louise & everyone who drops in,

It is so nice waking up to hear birds chirping in the back yard. DS's cat wants out first thing and crouches in the yard spying on the birds but thankfully she hasn't caught any.

In awhile I'll be calling my doctor's office to hopefully get to the bottom of this queasyness and trots. I quit taking Metformin on the Saturday evening dose and didn't take any yesterday but someone on the Diabetes board said if you aren't on Diabetes medication Medicare only allows one test strip a day. I guess if your blood sugar is stable that's okay but what happens on sick days when you are supposed to test every 4 hours? Those strips are expensive.

Patty, for those of us who are "un-crafty" you ought to do a little video on how you do that crocheting! I don't really expect you to but I'm trying to imagine what you described. You'll probably show us the finished product and that will be fun.

Louise, My days are pretty routine, too. I don't think of them as boring. My Spring Cleaning goes like yours. A little here, a little there. Right now my windows could use some cleaning.

Good Morning Patty and all who will follow!

Patty, I am so sorry you are getting more snow and it is only 34 degrees where you live. It is suppose to be 89 degrees here in Arizona. However, think of me this summer when it took possibly get to 115 or even in the 120's. We really have not had the 120's for a while. So I am thinking we are due because if it is this hot now the summer might be hotter!!!!

Patty, once in a while I do something exciting but usually it is the same routine day after day. I do not think we live boring lives---just normal lives! At least that is what I want to think!!!!

Today is grocery shopping and continuing on Spring Cleaning. The way I am doing Spring Cleaning will might take me the whole summer to do it. I will also be exercising.

Everyone, Please Have A Really Great Day! emoticon

GOD BLESS!
Louise

Good morning Girls,
Right now there is a depends ad on...now how did I get that ad...who knows, who cares right?

It is supposed to only be 34 today, and possible 5 inches of snow...I want spring...but that means that I can walk in the driveway this afternoon instead of now...cool huh?

I have 2 more strips to put the lavender yarn on, then on to the white. White is the last color for the strips, and you attach the strips as you go...So I go around 1 side, then attach the second side to the afghan while crocheting the second side, clear as mud right?
easy peasy, and no sewing it together when it is done. yay

lunch at senior center, Easter dinner, ham and etc.

nothing else to report...boring life around here.

Have a blessed day girls. emoticon emoticon
