Judy - sounds like you are doing ok on this amount of calories. Good you have doctors monitoring it.
Thanks for the encouragement. We will get through this I know with the Lord's help
You are all right, 500 calories is starvation mode, but with my doctor's approval that is where I've been. I am gradually increasing my caloric intake. Years ago I went through a period of time when we had no food at all for one week and less than enough food for my children for several weeks. During that period I screwed up my metabolism to the degree that ever since if I eat more I gain weight. Back then we didn't have food banks and my church still wouldn't have them. I no longer attend that church.
I am counting every bite and keeping track of balance. I give my journals to my doctor and nutritionist every month and they are approving of what I am eating. The only caution they've given me is to take a good multi-vitamin every day. I am steadily loosing weight and recently I have been eating more without a negative effect. I do take all my pills including those terrible multi-vitamins. Those pills are huge, I know most of that is filler, why can't they make them smaller so I wouldn't have to break them in half to take them.
I went to TOPS today and lost another 3 3/4 pounds. That is over two weeks because I didn't get there last week. My 3X clothing is definitely getting too big for me. I was not by a long way the biggest loser today. Our leader, who also was not there last week, lost eight pounds. There were several of us who lost three or more pounds
I am so glad your son has taken those classes. I know that will set very well with the judge and he is absolutely correct not to refute what their mother has said to the kids. They will observe and learn the truth eventually. It will be a painful period for your son, and for the children, but they will all come through it.
Now, because the taco shells I have are tiny and I won't be able to fit everything for a healthy fish taco in them I am going to go downstairs break up a couple of shells and make myself a fish taco salad. I am very hungry for that for dinner. It is something I've wanted since I read a recipe just after I'd done my shopping at the beginning of the month.
I am so pleased with my last batch of yogurt. There is only one bottle left and I'll probably use if for my snack tonight. Then tomorrow I can start a new batch. I am eating a lot of yogurt lately. I didn't do that when all we could get was commercial yogurt. I don't like the taste of Safeway yogurt and those made by the same company. To me they taste metallic. I know that is just me. Other yogurts that I do like were awfully expensive. Now I can get a good starter inexpensively and I can get organic milk, even raw organic mild and I can make a far better product. This is good because I haven't been able to drink milk for years. Now I can eat yogurt and love it.
Time to go fix my supper, I've been waiting for this and I am going to savor every bite.

DD#1's DH called and told us his ex was so hostile during the process that his lawyer had them meet at the police department so any problem could be documented.
DD#1 said to check with lawyer what should be done, since he witnessed the hostility. Ex does not do it, but she brings my DD#@ who has been attacking us.
We will figure it out.
Patty, you are correct I did mean 500 calories is way too low.
Nini, I remember when DS and the EX exchanged GS who was around 3 at the time, they made the exchange in a very busy grocery store parking lot and DH and I went with him every time.

Having a relaxing birthday. My hubby took me for a nice ride through the pines today for my birthday and got me a new wireless mouse for my computer.
Got a phone call from the girl that lived across the street from where my kids grew up. She and my oldest daughter are still best friends. She called me mom and address me now as second mom. I follow her on face books but not talked to her in a few years. Anyway since my youngest daughter is not talking to me or my husband (I guess she knew from my oldest daughter) she called to wish me a happy birthday as she knew my youngest would not call me today. It was so sweet and meant so much too me. My DD#1 did not know she was going to do this.
Judy-hope you can build up to walking to the stop sign.
Jan-we are looking into all avenues.
Ann- the trial was in AZ. I was only in Calif in 2011 to help my mom while my dad was dying. Was back in AZ in March.
My son has always lived in Az for the last 10 years as we have.
My DD#1 is living in CA. and so does DD#2.
The EX DIL went to CA to DD#2 and then to OR. She now is living in OR.
The oldest boy 14 is mad at Mom and Sisters except for the youngest sister 8 who thinks they are on vacation. Daughter #2 wants to see her dad so far. Oldest 18 will not talk to him, and has been used by mom as well as she has done the total Parental Alienation thing.
From what I could see I noticed her attitude this summer but attributed it to being a teen ager.
Yes she has told them lies and when the second daughter mentioned them, he would say that is not true. Now he knows not to do that after taking the class for divorced kids. Now we all steer clear of anything that has to do with parental alienation. We do not want the kids to be hurt. They are confused enough.
DD#1 and I are keeping records. He has kept every email she sent and he sent. So glad he went to DD#1 as she has a step son by marriage and knows all about this. Great help for him.
At night I just try and say I cannot fix this, just do what I can and go on.
Louise-glad you got your internet and phone up again.
, Ann, I think you meant that 500 calories was too little, yes?
Not enough calories at all. Starvation mode is right...
just my humble opinion.
Good Afternoon Everyone!
We have had no land phone or internet for maybe two days then today someone came and fixed it. They are putting new cables or whatever you call them around and inside our patio gates for a new service if we want it. The funny thing is a lot of us have DISH TV and phone and internet service and not the service who is putting in these cables. Anyway something happen and we lost our inter net and land phone. DH called our service and they did not know anything about it and our service called the other company and they came and fixed it. So now we have a land phone again and the internet. I am so glad we had our cell phones!
Patty, I love it when you say you are having a little bit warmer weather--high 30's! We have been having 80's weather. Of course, this is still March so I am wondering what our summer is going to be like! I am hoping it will not be 120 or more!!!
Well, I do pray for everyone who posts here.
HAVE A GOOD REST OF THE DAY AND A GOOD NIGHT!
Nina, can you straighten me out, as I'm very confused. I know your family originally lived in Ca. in the inland valley.
1. What state was the hearing held at? Ca. or Az.
2. Where is your son living now. Ca. or Az.
3. Where does your DD live that is helping your DS? Ca or Az
4. What state does the EXDIL live. Ca or Az
If the kids are going to school in Az. are they living close to you? Your DS is going to have trouble renting a van or SUV if he doesn't have a job or insurance. Does your church have a van of sorts that a senior would volunteer to help out by driving? Is there bus service where your DS is living. I know you are probably in a remote area.
I'm also wondering if the kids want to see their dad? You know the DIL could have told them so many lies that they may have trouble hearing and understanding the truth. I can see this is one big mess and you my dear need to keep a journal and get the brainstorming out of your head so you can sleep at night. I say this lovingly.
Judy, 500 calories is way too much. Your body isn't going to lose in starvation mode. Now if you eat a lot of vegetables and don't count their calories you may be o k. I know you aren't able to exercise a lot. What about DVD chair exercises. Better than nothing.
Aren't I being the critical person today Just mean to be helpful
Cable guy came and left. DS had the TV hooked up just fine but cable guy cued the TV into the cable system and hooked up my TV ears for me and tried to assist us in using the remote. That will take some practice.
I have a beef stew in my mini crock for supper. I think DH feels better today as he hasn't had a nap yet and just now went for a walk.

Good morning Patty & Judy & everyone else who drops by,
It's cloudy and expected rain but the week ahead looks good. Portland is expecting 70 degrees on Easter but we must have a coastal thing happening because we're expected to have 60. Spring is here!
Patty, It's good the snow is melting but that mud doesn't sound good. Do you have mud scrapers?
Judy, That is a good goal to get back to walking to the stop sign and back. I hope it happens for you.
Nina, Last time we needed to rent a car the best deal was from one of the local auto dealerships.
DH is driving today. DS went to his last counseling appointment (his good counselor is moving to California). I've got some house cleaning to do, meal planning for Easter weekend.
Pacific NW Time Zone PDT
Good morning Patty and all,
You are up and running early this morning. I am glad to hear that snow is melting slowly. That will mean that your water table will go up and perhaps the summer drought season won't hurt quite as bad.
I truly wish I were able to walk a bit more. I would like to walk to the stop sign and back. That would be exactly one mile. I used to do it fairly often just for the fun of it. Not possible right now. But, I am working on it.
Today is my TOPS meeting. I am somewhat nervous because I have been eating more lately. I have increased my calorie count to about one thousand per day. I know that my losing calorie count is about five hundred. We will see how it goes. If I can get away with a thousand now. I am keeping my carbs well within the correct range and my blood glucose readings are fairly steady unless I take them to soon after moving around. Then the go up to one hundred.
Gotta go now. See you all later.
Good morning Girls,
We are in mud season. The days are a bit warmer, high 30's, so snow is slowly melting into the driveway. We will have a long mud season this year, due to excess snow...I may be able to go out right now and walk, as the driveway is still a bir frozen over from last night. In fact, I will do just that. Just got back in. 3/4 mile.
Nina, still praying. And Judy had a good idea about renting a vehicle for when it is needed, instead of buying...We are just a fount of information on this group...
ok girls, don't forget to spin that mattress. Spring spin, fall flip
