It is pouring rain tonight. Seattle was waiting for rain this afternoon when I came home from the dentist, I think we got it instead. I can't believe how hard it is raining. Its like the cloudbursts I saw in the Carolinas and in Texas. I don't think you can see more than ten feet out there. This kind of weather will bring the rivers to flood stage almost immediately, especially if the freezing level goes up very far. There is a lot of snow on the ground just above us.
I hope your day is better tomorrow Nina. Family stress can be debilitating. I've been there and it wasn't pleasant at all. It will pass, count on it.
Patty, you keep reminding me of why I left Michigan many years ago. I will take the rain thank-you. I know snow is pretty and all that, but it isn't pleasant to get around.
Congratulations Ann, I know from experience that you've worked hard to achieve that A1C. Now we have to keep it down. That is really difficult for me in jelly-bean season. I am just fine the rest of the year, but just before Easter I have a really difficult time. I think next year I will find some sugar free jelly beans.
Have a good night, sleep tight. don't let...
Had a stressful with family problems and busy day.
Patty-that is a great idea about just adding oil that you want.
Will hopefully get to chat more tomorrow and it will be a better day.
Jan, your 10 layer of gift wrap prize is very inventive. Very clever.
Judy, I got my lab work back yesterday and my AIC was 5.0. Now I hope next weeks cancer markers are good.
Yesterday I made a box of banana bread yesterday so I'd have something to take to chemo lab to snack on today. It sure isn't as good as the rest of the Pillsbury bread mixes as the banana is flavored instead of real bananas in it. DH ate the last over ripe banana or I would have added it to the batter.
I have some meat loaf and mashed potatoes thawing for an easy supper. I will also cut up some strawberries and grapes to put yogurt that I add Splenda Brown over each dish. Last week we bought a package of strawberries from Costco. They are so good but so many in a package. I even put some in a FoodSaver Jar to keep them fresh.

We got over 12 inches yesterday and overnight. It is still coming down...oh my. March is going out like a lion, and it came in like a lamb...the opposite of the saying for here...
I just made Pear Walnut coffee cake.
It was in the Fresh from the hearth cookbook. yum
I used Nina's baking mix, though when I made up the mix, I did not add shortening in, but just the dry ingredients. When using it, I add a bit of oil to my recipe.
You'll be shocked to hear it's cloudy and will probably rain
I'm getting ready for a big day at TOPS on Wednesday. It's our installation of new officers and awards. We have a potluck afterwards and it's always a nice event. The Weight Recorder and her Assistant do a lot of the planning. This year there are also a few others who will be decorating. DH and I are going bright and early to open up and set up tables. We use all of the church's tables and some are horrendously heavy old ones- something us gals have a hard time doing alone. We'll have to muddle through putting them away at the end. I need to decide what I'm bringing.
We are starting a new weight-loss incentive - a 10 wrapped gift. We find a nice white elephant type gift and wrap it in 10 layers. Those who participate get assigned a gift and take it home. Every week we lose, we get to unwrap a layer. When we get down to 1 layer left, we bring it to the meeting so we can unwrap it in front of everyone so they can see our prize.
Also this evening we'll do some grocery shopping.
Patty, What a great idea to keep your family in colorful dish cloths. I hope that "spell" doesn't come back. I really have to watch my carbs (grains, fruit). They are good for you but can't eat big portions.
Louise, Glad you are getting better. Sounds like a good day for you to rest and get completely well.

I am having trouble keeping my blood sugar UP, instead of down...Last week, I had no grains, and it was much easier on the blood sugar. I think I just need to go off grains to keep it up where it is supposed to be. I also need to buy new testing strips. Mine are gone.
Thanks for asking.
Praying you are feeling better soon.
Good Morning Patty and all who will follow!
Patty, I am so sorry you are getting all that snow! I remember those days when I lived in Massachusetts. I would not trade in this Arizona weather (yes, even the heat in the summer--mostly August) for anything. I do not think I could live in the cold and snow again. Besides if I wanted snow I could go up to Northern Arizona where they get plenty of it also.
I am like you, I am surprised they did not cancel schools but if the snow keeps up I bet they will or they will send the children home early. I remember growing up in Massachusetts and when I was in school if they did not cancel sometimes they sent us home early.
Patty, I hope you do not get that dizzy and queasy thing again. How is your blood sugar?
I am still coughing a lot so I will be taking it easy today. Usually I have Bible Study here at our townhome on Tuesday but I cancelled it for today. DD had to be at work for a 6:30a.m. meeting and DH is going into Phoenix for Jury Duty so I will be resting most of the day.
I hope Sarah feels like coming back on the boards soon. I sure miss her!
Well, everyone, please have a Very Wonderful Tuesday!
Good morning Girls,
It snowed late afternoon yesterday, and all night. Supposed to snow for 5 days in a row. We got a lot of snow. I am surprised that school isn't closed today.
Lunch at senior center.
my Sis took 5 or 6 dishcloths, that I made out of that cotton yarn. DD took about 5 of them. I took 5 or 6 of them downstairs, so not too many left. I need to rebuild my stash of them. I want to make them for each of the kids. And continue to keep them in dishcloths until this cotton yarn is gone. It will be a long time...lol
Nothing much going on here.
This morning as I was washing off the counter, my tummy started to get queasy. Then I got dizzy and had to go sit down...pretty soon it was all over, and I went back to what I was doing...what is up with that now? who knows
Louise, hope you are feeling better.
I wonder if Sarah is home now. She must have missed it terribly.
Praying she is out of that wheelchair, and able to walk on her own.
Praying for Glenna's family too.
Anyone I missed with prayer requests. Sorry if I forgot.
Have a blessed safe day.
