What does the full plate have for parents? Sounds interesting!
Pretty much my kids eat what ever we do. they had the "lasagna" last night and salad, which they always call something funny! lol DD1 used to call it the green, or grass. DD2, now calls it leaves! I want more leaves! lol haha
I can hear dripping on the roof, so hopefully there isn't any new snow out there. I want to go to TOPS this morning. I haven't been able to go for ages. I can get the car out of the driveway, the problem is getting to the car.
The apple muffins were great. I found some sparkling sugar in one of my drawers so I sprinkled that on the top. They actually looked fairly pretty. The new muffin pan I just bought to go in my toaster oven is too big to stay flat, so the muffins had an odd shape, but they tasted good anyway.
Last night I got a wild hair. I had some ground beef that needed to be used and I didn't want to do the usual. I decided to put some curry sauce in the meat along with other meatloaf ingredients. That didn't smell quite right so I added coconut milk, cardamom, coriander and tarragon. Then it smelled perfect. I baked it up and gave some to Carol after I tasted it. She thought it was good and wanted to know what I did to make it taste that way. I was a success. I had a full serving and even Gidget had some. She got full before she finished, but she'll go back to finish it up when she gets hungry again.
I have been researching on the MY Plate site. There are some really good suggestions there. I recommend that site especially for parents of young children.

Was good to read all you replys. We have had a lot of family issues the last few days so my mind has been on that. Trying to think of other things and have some fun. No snow here the last 2 days. We did have it on Sunday and did not make it to church. Nina
I almost said good morning, but something made me stop and look at a clock. This morning has passed very quickly. I made arrangements for the "new" kitchen stove to be picked up and then made apple muffins because my sugar reading was very low this morning. That doesn't often happen so I was glad for the opportunity to spoil myself and Carol.
This last batch of yogurt is going bad on us. It didn't taste really great from the start. Carol is going in to town tomorrow and I've asked her to get a couple of 6 oz containers of plain yogurt. I think the yogurt I was using for starter is too old. I'll use the remaining containers for the liquid in yeast breads. Yogurt makes the crusts softer.
I finally found my copy of Healthy Exchanges copyrighted in 1994. Now I know why she was so understanding about sending my son overseas during Desert Storm. She sent three of her kids over. I was concerned because of my four grandsons who were living with me at the time.
I have been looking through the recipes and found on for Pink Champagne Salad. Doesn't that sound romantic? The recipe is on page 109. I think we are going to have a second Valentine's day around here, just so I can make this salad. I'll be thinking of other things for that meal. Suggestions will be gratefully accepted.

It is a lovely day. I got myself in gear and went to Wal Mart this morning. I wanted some lemon and lime Jello. For some reason the commissary doesn't carry the small boxes of those.. Large box of lime but no lemon. We don't have a Super WalMart but still this one has lots of groceries.
I"m going to bake some halibut that comes in a box from Costco. Lightly battered. It makes a quick and easy meal. I've got some yellow crook neck squash to cook too. Maybe fix some rice to round out the meal.
I'm still trying to read through the Ca. Drivers Manual for my test in a couple of weeks. Borinnnnnnnng. I hate taking tests.
