This has been quite a day. Got a call asking if I could come to my Dr. app't earlier. Last time they did that I think I was there twice a long as later. This time I quickly took a shower and off we went. Didn't have to wait long. Tumor lab results aren't back so we just wait. She is having me get an xray of my back as I have a dull never ending ache. I don't think there is anything wrong but wish it would go away.
On the way home we checked the RV to see if there was any water leaks and there wasn't and then went on base and got a base sticker for the new car and gas. On the way home I suggested we get hamburgers which took a little bit of time to get through the line as it was lunch time.
Early this morning I put some chopped steak in the crock pot with cr. of celery soup. Neither one of us was hungry for supper. We both were rivited to the TV with the Ca. man hunt. Sure am glad that is over..
Jan, in Ca. after a certain age (maybe 70) every time your drivers license is up for renewal you have to take the written test and eye exam. I'm getting my eyes checked tomorrow as they really bother me. I think our licenses are good for 3 years at a time.
Nina, your biscuit recipe sounds good.
Patty, we love broccoli slaw but I don't serve it often as a Vitamin with too much K in it for DH.
Judy you could add your grated vegetables to speghetti sauce. I do no like turnip or parsnips. When I took the low fat cooking class we made a cake with parsnips in it.
Glenna, today was warmer at least it was sitting in the car with the sun shinnin in. The rest of the week is suppose to warm up and then cool down again. Bring on March.

Last night couldn't find won-ton wrappers, but I did find the broccoli slaw, which I plan to combine with the slaw to make spring rolls. I saw that idea somewhere yesterday. I am thinking adding a turnip, Parsnip or rutabaga would also be good. I can grate them in the food processor. I could also grate up a few radishes to give the spring rolls some sip. Sounds good to me. Tonight we are having fish Tacos.
See you all later,
Patty-thanks for that idea I will try it.
Have you ever seen broccoli slaw in the stores? They are very thin strips of broccoli stems. You could cut the turnips the same way, and use it is stir fries, or even in a slaw recipe. Check online for recipes too.
Today is the anniversary of my mother's birth. She would have been 94. Valentines Day coming up. I planned to make cookies with Aiden before Thursday afternoon but that may not happen since my son has come down. Aiden's school party will be on Thursday and he is expecting me to stand in for his parents who won't be able to make it.
Having a great time with Alex.
See you later.
Been doing yesterdays laundry today. After putting some things in my cabinet I just relaxed and did some fun things while watching the . Last night I found a recipe for Grated Carrot Cheese Pie in one of my JoAnn news letters. A friend gave me a bunch of turnips, carrots, onions, and eggs from her farm. I still do not have recipes to use the turnips. I did use some last night in a vegetable stir fry side dish I made with supper.
Judy - glad you had a great time with your son-and wow all that food. I wish I had a Winco around here. My daughter in Calif does and she shops there a lot.
Jan - sounds like you have a lot of fun at tops. I too have been looking at my newsletters. My recipes are in my travel trailer in Calif. But I found my newsletters, some of my cook books and of course the recipes from this team and sparkpeople for ideas.
Patty - sounds like you are in the crafting mood getting all those free patterns. The internet is great for that too.

Afternoon Jan and Girls,
I have been happily printing out free patterns from the internet for toddlers and babies cute animal hats, a bunny, puppy, monkey, rudolph, penguin, etc.
I couldnt' print them out from her site, even though they were offered for free. So I sent the patterns to my email. Opened my browser, and printed them from there...easy peasy finally.
lunch at senior center today.
no school again yesterday...oh my, what a winter we are having.
I did drink my water
I did walk 1 mile
I did not stick to my food plan.
hoping to be better today.
It's cloudy today with the ever-present "chance of rain" in the Pacific Northwest. But high 45-50.
I guess this is "fat Tuesday" but I'm doing my best to not comply with that. Tomorrow is TOPS and I'm the Featherweight from last week (best loser). The way we do that in the winter is members who want to participate put fifty cents in a jar and then the best loser needs to come back the following week with another loss to win the pot. I tied with another lady as Featherweight so I hope we both come back with a loss.
It sounds like Judy has some great meals coming up (read her post from yesterday) and is having a great visit wth her son.
I'm looking forward to seeing Nina's finish on her beautiful cabinet. We have a lot of talented people here.
It was so good to hear Glenna's husband is healing up. Funny to hear about the cow who got in the wrong place. Where I grew up we had wayward cows from time to time.,
What's cooking ladies? I'm heading for my newsletters so I'll let you know. I want to make something special for Valentines Day.
