Ann, The pharmasist told my DD to always take Metformin with food because she would get in trouble if she did not take it with food. Also, she was told never ever skip taking it. You are very wise to do what it says on the bottle and not listen to a friend.
I just wanted to confirm that you taking it with food was the right thing to do.
I also want you to know that I am still praying for you.
GOD BLESS! Louise

The last three days have been stressful but now it is much better. DH got operated on Friday for a cyst on his neck. It was a size of a navel organge. The doctor has never seen a mass like it before and sent it to the lab to see what it is. We are also waiting to see if it is Cancer or not. Before when it was just drained it was not Cancer. However, since it came back bigger than ever the doctor was uncertain what it was.
The surgery took three hours. Then he was in the Recovery Room from 11:30a.m. to 6:30p.m. waiting for a bed on one of the floors. The nurses kept coming over and saying they were so sorry it was taking so long. The director of the Recovery Room came over and talked to us for about an hour. He kept saying this was unacceptable and he had been trying to find out what was going on. We think it was their computer system. My DH did not care if he was in his room or in the recovery room. He told them that they had nothing to be sorry about.
His room was beautiful! They gave him a room with a wonderful view of the mountains and their Prayer Garden. It had a fold out couch if I wanted to stay the night but DH did want me to. He just want to rest and I knew I could not sleep well on the couch. So DD and I went home Friday night.
DH had to stay two days as the neck was still draining a lot of blood. I think it was good for him as he got a lot of rest. My husband is the kind of person that has to keep busy and find projects to do. I am fortunate that he helps around the house. However, this was major surgery and he had to rest. So I am glad he had to stay two days.
We picked him up late this morning. He sat up most of the day at home and walked around the downstairs as he needed exercise. He went to bed early. So he is not still feeling well and will not for a few weeks. I am praying that he will get the rest he needs. I am also praying against Cancer but if he has Cancer, we will be taking him up to the Cancer Treatment Centers Of America in Goodyear, Arizona. They were the ones that saved my life. Of course, the Healing came from GOD but GOD is the ONE who directed me there. Anyway, we are praying against it.
So it has been stressful but getting better.
GOD BLESS! Louise

Ann, My doctor started me on the Metformin by cutting the 1000 mg tablet in half (so 500 mg.) at first one once a day for a week, the second week I added the 500 mg. pill with dinner, etc. until I built up gradually to two 1000 mg. per day (one AM/one PM). I take them with a meal. A friend told me she forgot to take her Metformin and took one without food and it had really bad repercussions and she'll never do that again). The new dose is 850 mg. I'll give it a couple of days and if I still feel on the verge of dizzy, I'll call the doctor again.
Jan, if you don't mind my asking, how many metformin do you take a day and what mg. I know one diabetic friend says she takes four if she needs them. My bottle says to take with food but the NP told me to take an hour before food. I have not followed her instructions. I go by what is on the bottle. Too hard to remember and much easier with breakfast and supper.
Thank goodness DH said we wouldn't go to the bluegrass festival this year. I didn't want to go anyway as it is boring to me. It wouldn't be so bad if we had 50 amp electric instead of 20 amp if we are lucky. We had always gone like three days before it started so we could get parked by a tiny building that had an electric outlet so DH could run his CPAP machine. All the music is on two stages and out in the open. I've been watching the weather over there and it has gotten down to freezing at night and in the 50's during the day.
We had a shower during the night and maybe another one late this afternoon. Right now the sun is out. Snow in the mountains above 4,000 ft.

FBS 95 this morning. I felt so good yesterday and got so much done in the house. Today after my morning metformin I'm feeling slightly dizzy/nauseous again. Not as bad as before but really disappointing. I'll see how the day goes. Bruce's back is out. We decided we feel like a couple of old people. Waiting to see if we feel well enough to go to church. If he fell down I couldn't help him and if I fell down he couldn't help me. What a pair we are today!
I want to let you know not all of my TOPS group are ornery and I have many friends there but the ones who have been dominant are the pills and last week was so obviously orchestrated by that group. It's a lot like a group of 2nd grade girls on the playground who decide to target someone and lock arms and let them know they can't get past them.
I have been eating well and drinking my water and yesterday I got a lot of activity sweeping, mopping and cleaning (more than I've been able to do lately).
Patty, What beautifully colorful hats! Have fun with your new loom ideas.
Good morning, it is still morning here, but barely.
Ann, my room is warm, and I stop drinking caffeine after 3. I only got 3 hours sleep last night again.
I found a new loom knitting blog that I love, and am getting so many new ideas on using these knitting looms. I started a baby blanket on a loom this morning. Have I finished the hats, no, and right now I am bored with them. This baby blanket is for a boy, so blue yarn and blue variegated with brown, blue, yellow and white. using both strands of yarn at the same time. we will see how it turns out.
I also started using a notebook of projects made. stitches used, amount of yarn, needle or hook size, and will print out a pic, maybe of each project. well, probably not. maybe just on special projects
new pics on my blog. just 8 hats
how was yesterday?
did you move? yes, I walked 2 miles yesterday...yay
