In answer to your question, I am back home now. Wish I were still at my daughter's. I really had fun this trip.
My friend came and brought things in from the car. Now all I have to do is put the laundry away and warm my Christmas Leftovers. I am looking forward to the leftovers. My daughter packed enough for at least two meals.
I'll see you all later, or maybe tomorrow.
Hi Everyone! My blood sugar goes up and down. I notice when I exercise the blood sugar is at a good level. I did dance yesterday but now my leg is swollen again. I really pray that a doctor can tell me why it is swelling like it does. They say it is phelbitis (again not spelled right). I try keeping elevated when it gets swollen. Oh well, I could have worse problems!
It has been cold for Arizona. I have to buy a heavy sweater or jacket. I used to not have to have one but it has been too cold not to wear one.
Yesterday--Yes I moved.
Yesterday--Yes I drank my water.
Yesterday--Yes I stuck to my lifestyle food plan.
Judy, I don't like walking on snow or ice either. Hope you have a safe trip from house to car.
Ann, Your soup sounds good. DS made a soup with the turkey broth he made plus turkey and rice and good seasonings. The fruitcake I ate was Healthy Exchanges and in the proper portion- so the carb count was good for a snack- and I might add it was delicious!
My second blood sugar of the day after lunch was 85 so much better. Okay, I'm on a healthy roll now.

Judy, are you still at your DD's or back on your mountain?
I had another night when I woke up at 3 a.m. and didn't get back to sleep until about 2 hours later, then I didn't wake up until 9:45. Wow that is late for me. Too late to make a grocery run to the military base. I prefer to shop first thing after they open as it is not as crowded. I'll try again for tomorrow morning.
Jan, fruit cake is what got DH in trouble a few years ago when he had an annual check up a few weeks into the new year. Dr. immediately told him he was diabetic. He isn't now. He does like fruit cake and I always gave him one as a Christmas present. Not any more.
Patty, you are smart to start out easy on your new bike. It will take a while and your friends suggestion sounds good to me.
I cut up the left over tri tip roast and now have vegetable beef soup cooking in the crock pot.
The neighbor across the road from mothers house in Ma. called to see if I wanted the drive way plowed this year. They have 6" of snow and more falling. DH and decided not to plow as no one is looking to buy right now and haven't been and maybe not being plowed will keep away any burglers. They have been having a problem with houses being broken into. Nothing to steal in there but they could do some damage.

Good morning everyone, I test my FBS before I get out of bed each morning. Then if my morning reading is running high I check again during the day. I have always seen a reduction later in the day.
I get very little exercise. I just can't get motivated in that direction. I am going to have to get out to the car tomorrow so I'll get some walking in the snow. That is extremely difficult for me so I'll get some exercise with that. I know it doesn't seem like much, but because of the snow I have a very hard time keeping my feet under me.
Hopefully James will be out to see me in the morning. I'll have him clear out the driveway and bring in whatever is left in the car. I haven't heard anything from either James or his uncle about how James nephew is doing. I am going to assume that no news is good news. I do hope he is beginning to recover.
I am going to go downstairs now. I'll talk more with you later in the day.
Last time I took it, it was 90. Mine is doing really well.
I only check it about once a month.
Good morning Patty and everyone else who drops in,
FBS this morning was 116. That's higher than usual and higher than they want it to be. It also "snitches" on eating too many goodies last night. I'm working to get back to healthier meals. I have the Homemade Fruitcake for a treat today and have to work it into my plan for the day.
I decided I need to change the dining area and take down the Christmas things so I don't see it and think about the goodies on the table. A friend gave me a little package of those Rochet candies and I need to give them away. I might also take down the Christmas tree while DH is gone on a driving job today.
Then I want to think about what my resolutions/health & other goals for next year will be. I love setting New Years goals - it gives me a good direction I can look back at if I write it down.
Patty, How is your blood sugar doing? How often do you test?
Yesterday: food plan was okay until evening and then it went kapooey
drank my water
did not exercise

I feel like I was run over with a truck.
too much sugar, sweating during the night...bah
this will go away as the sugar gets worked out of my system...
How was yesterday?
did you drink your water?
did you stick to your lifestyle food plan?
did you move?
yes, 3 minutes on exercise bike, twice
3 minutes wears me out, much harder than walking 1 mile. moving my arms at the same time, with tension on the pedals...oh my.
a walking friend, (I don't walk with her, as she lives in st. Louis, ) says to walk 3 min. each day.
then next week, add 30 seconds each day, so 3 min. 30 sec. then the next week, 4 min...she says once I can get up to 10 min. on this thing, I will be doing so well, much better than walkking. we shall see
have a good day today.
good solid exercise.
