Another day flown by. I don't feel real great in the mornings- perk up a lot more in the afternoons. That's something new and I hope it's a passing thing. I lost .75 lb. this week.
One thing solved - I went to a second medical supply business this afternoon and the staff was extremely helpful, took my prescription for diabetic supplies and insurance information, said they'd work with my doctor to make sure I get the supplies I need, gave me a new glucometer and all the paraphenalia that goes with it, set it up for me (date/time, etc.), told me to come back if I had any questions. Whew! What a relief.
I also checked with the TOPS coordinator about taking time off until I feel better and she is very supportive. Another whew!
Got DS's room ready. He will be a bit later than he expected.
Patty, that's good news the shingles haven't spread today.
Ann, that pumpkin/cranberry muffin sounds good. I had a delicious muffin recipe that has chopped cranberries- but pumpkin with it sounds so good. I agree- seeing the bog flooded with the red cranberries floating is a sight to see. I love cranberry red. I'm not a big red fan but cranberry is great. I have never been to Sweet Tomatoes. Judy mentioned them, too.

Patty, I sure hope your shingles do their thing and then go away forever. I remember one time when I was working one of the pregnant young girls came down with shingles. Her side was red as a beet and she was miserable. The Operations Officer insisted she come to work each day. I never did like that old hag. Can your DH bring you a dinner from the Senior Center today? Ham sounds good to me. I can take or leave turkey.
Jan, back in the 50's we toured a cranberry bog outside of Plymouth, Ma. They gave you the tour on a little train. Seeing the lake of red is really something. Then in Plymouth for years they had and Ocean Spray Cranberry house with films on growing and harvesting cranberries and a lovely gift shop. Last time we were there it was gone.
Speaking of cranberries today in our paper there is a recipe for the Soup Plantation aka Sweet Tomatoes restaurant Pumpkin Cranberry muffins. That restaurant is the soup and salad place we frequent. I didn't realize they use fresh cranberries in their muffins. They are so good. They are very generous sharing their recipes when someone requests one. I have several of their muffin recipes. Can't say I've baked them though.
Jan, I mash my butternut squash with brown sugar and butter and then just store it in a pyrex dish in the refrig. Then I stick it in the microwave oven and reheat on 1/2 power (medium) until hot. Generally 10 minutes or so depending on the size. I know what you mean about the Costco cash register tape adding up.
This morning I got the fruit jello setting up. I've made the custard topping for it and will just have to fold in the Cool Whip in another hour and top the jello. It has a can of fruit cocktail and bananas in it. I also baked and frosted a box German Chocolate Cake. Things are looking good.

Good morning Girls,
It's supposed to be 54 here today, but overcast. November is always overcast here.
How about where you live? Is it sunshine?
Hubby is going to senior center for lunch today. They are having a thanksgiving dinner today. Of course, I cannot go...boohoo
Hubby bought a ham yesterday. We will have that, mashed potatoes, frost on the pumpkin pie, and some veggies. Probably a fruit salad too, with mayo and cool whip combined.
My shingles is not spreading this morning. There were some new spots on my side yesterday, but they do not seem to be coming to a blister, so that is a goodly thing. Praying these pills work. Yesterday I had the chills all day. Probably a fever, though I didn't take it.
I feel better today. Not sick like I felt yesterday. I slept well too...yay
Well, how was your yesterday?
Did you move?
yes, 1/2 mile walk
did you drink your water?
did you stick to your food plan?
Let's make today a healthy day.
