I am sure Jo Anna wouldn't have minded using the hash browns and potatoes O'brien interchangeably, she was very flexible.
I was interested in the materials used for the Swiffer gadgets myself. They look pretty. I don't have a swiffer, and probably won't get one, but I think those could be adapted for what I do have. I also liked the idea of using that sort of thing for dish washing. Very good Idea, I'll have to work on that one.
Today I went shopping with my caregiver. We went to a lot of stores, but I didn't do any walking. The cold has gotten to both my knees and ankles. I'll get to it again later. I didn't eat right either. I can't resist Samosas. They are so spicy and good, full of veggies and others full of spicy meat with veggies. I love those and only indulge about once a month. However, no more indulging until Thanksgiving. Even then I won't be going overboard. My daughter and her family won't allow that.
I drank plenty today. just not water. I had two 24 ounce sodas, sugar free, and a chai Latte also sugar free. Total 92 ounces of liquid and none of it had any carbs. Now that is doing very well. I know plain water is better, but once again no more until Thanksgiving. My son picked up four bottles of Martinelli's sparkling beverages tonight. We really like those.
About the recipes, I will look to see if I can find a special one that I would like to share. I am about to pack up all my cookbooks in anticipation of my coming move. I will be having some cookbooks for sale, not JoAnna's. I'll let you know later which ones.

Patty, I have not made that recipe but it does sound good. I always get the wrong kind of frozen potatoes. If I buy shredded the recipe calls for O'Brien and vice versa.
Our supper tonight was left over gr. beef casserole and left over veg. soup from the mixture of left over frozen veg. I had in the freezer. I sure needed something, a little on the flat side but we got our veggies in. Then I made instant pudding with some fresh raspberries on the top with Cool Whip.
Glenna, that is for the swiffer duster. It works ok. though not as good as the swiffer dusters that you buy, use, then throw away...lol
the swiffer mop works great though. Much better than the mop pads that you buy. This has some more scrubbing action than the bought flat ones.
Ok, DS and DDIL and DGD came over this afternoon. After they left, I made up a quick batch of Jiffy scalloped potatoes from the Kids in mind.
But here is the recipe.It took all of 5 min. to make, and I even shredded my own potatoes.
Jiffy Scalloped potatoes, kids in Mind, page 258
6 cups shredded potatoes 1 TB dried onion 3/4 cup grated cheddar 1/4 ts. pepper 1 can celery soup, I used mushroom 1/2 cup milk
mix all together. Put into sprayed pan bake at 375 for 30 min. Mine will be 45 min. at least since I shredded my own potatoes. I bought shredded hash browns but hubby keeps using them for hash browns...lol
Patty, it feels cold being below goal. Burrrr this morning when I got up it was mid 50's. Our mountains at 4,000 ft were suppose to get some snow. I'm sure not a lot. Note, we have not turned our heat on in the house yet and our houses are not insulated.
One group of ladies that use to be on Dotti's Weight Loss group that were all over 60's had the thread dumped into the 50's because we were so small. We didn't like that so started just an email chain. Now we are down to 5 of us still at it. I think we are all in the 70's now.
Another Spark Team of RVers have had challanges especially during the holidays to keep the weight off. That group is larger so we were divided into teams. Five teams total with about 9 in each team. It was fun and kept us comitted to lose. We also earned points if we exercised at least 10 min. a day, journaled, and posted on the thread. I really don't have any other ideas. I find it interesting what every one is doing during the day. We all live such different lives and are spread out across the country with different activities which I find interesting.
Last night DH went to GS basketball game and I was so hungry for something sweet. I made myself 1/2 a recipe of no bake cookies. You know the choco. oatmeall drop kind. Well they did taste good but after I ate about 1/2 of them the rest went down the garbage disposal. Wasteful yes, but at least I didn't eat them all.

Hi Patty and the rest, We have some weak sunshine here today. Supposed to have rain and thunderstorms Monday and Tuesday. Quite a change! It is so wonderful to have power!!! Wow, I feel like a new person.
I agree with you Patty, we need to keep the group going. That's a good idea to share our opinions of recipes. If we don't make a different recipe, maybe we could share something else. Not sure what. I was going to say crafting items or what we are reading. But we kinda do that already.
How about a weekend challenge, ladies? Saturday, Sunday and Monday (since we are starting late). For each day that you exercise at least 20 minutes, give yourself 10 points, if you get at least 7 hours of sleep a night, give yourself 10 points. If you give a team mate a goodie or make a comment on their page, give yourself 10 points. If you eat 5 freggies a day, give yourself 10 points for each day that you do so. Then we can see who gets the most points or add them all together and see how many we can get that way. If you want to, that is. If not, tell me to go off and play by myself!! lol
One thing about me, Patty, I am always full of ideas. Don't know if they are good ones or not, but they are ideas!!! I think getting this electric back on has perked me up!
