I pulled another supper together in this hot weather. I made a jello, crushed pineapple and shredded carrot salad from one of Jo's skinny books. Then I made her Dijon Tuna Macaroni Salad from Penny Pinching Main Dishes. I made 1/2 a recipe of the salad. I had a small baggie of cooked macaroni in the freezer so I didn't have to even cook that. The salad had one hard boiled egg and I cooked 3 and made deviled egg with the other two. I was tempted to suggest we eat out but I really didn't want to change my clothes.

The sun is slowly going down and pretty soon I will open the doors and windows and hope there is cooler air tonight. DH and I have sat in front of fans all day. Tomorrow is suppose to be a little better.

Good noon time. another warm one today. It really cooled down once the sun went down last night and was good for sleeping. DH didn't get home until 11 p.m. from GS basketball games. When they left I don't think they realized there were two games.

Yesterday DH went out to the garage and heard this loud bang. He said it really scared him. It was a can of coke exploding.

Patty, my DH is gone every morning when I get up. He is out there pounding the side walks. I don't get coffee as I don't drink it but he does bring in the paper for me. I'm glad he gets out there before it really heats up. When he came home he decided he needed to mow the front yard. I wasn't very happy about that but he doesn't listen to me.

When you take in your pants that are too big do you also decrease the size of the legs? I have some pants that the legs are pretty big because the pants are W size. I have 5 pair of chambray type of material that are Alfred Dunner slacks. They are probably 20W and way to big. Of course they all have matching blouses. I'm not going to redo any alterations now but will have that task next spring. By then maybe my size with stabilize. The chambray material ones aren't easy to find. I have others that will also need to be taken in. Not a job I like. I may break down and take a few pair to the alteration shop and have them done there. My tank tops all need to be taken in under the arms. I have summer cotton blouses that will need tucks.

Sarah, yes we do get heat but blame Az. that is where it comes from and always in Sept. Hard to even think of fall right now. If I drank any more water I'd have to live in the bathroom.

Jan, I'm amazed you are still able to pick blueberries.

To the sewers. Have you ever had a jacket that you could zip from the bottom to the neck and then while fully zipped you could unzip from the bottom up. This would be an outdoor jacket and you unzip from the bottom up like when you are sitting so the jacket doesn't all bunch up while driving. I have a very old cream color wind breaker type of jacket that is old old old. The zipper won't work any more. Looks o k but just can't connect it. I would call this a reversable zipper and looked that up on line but they seem to call a reversable zipper one that you can zip up from the out side as well as the inside. I can't think of any other name for it. Any body know what I'm talking about. I have sewn some squares of velcro to hold it together. The cotton lining of this jacket it prettier than the out side. A London Fog jacket when they were made in the U.S.A.

Good morning,

It's a little cloudy this morning but warm enough DH and I started painting some doors he and DS will install this weekend. My shoulder is achey from that so I need to take some Advil or Aleve today.

Not much planned. I might go with DS to get a tire replaced so we can visit while he's waiting.

Patty, how nice to wake up to a cozy, warm house and fresh coffee.

Sarah, the recipe is Buttermilk Coffee Cake on page 271 of Baking With Splenda. It calls for Grandma Jo's Sweet Buttermilk and there's a recipe for that toward the back of the book. I finally just wrote the recipe for the buttermilk on the same page as the recipe for the coffee cake. I plan to make that today. Another good one in that book is Applesauce Spice Cake on page 265. I'm not sure if they are posted here.

I'm still hoping to pick blueberries this weekend but it depends on how things go with time needed for working on those doors and preparing meals for everyone.

We're having meatloaf stuffin' muffin sandwiches for lunch and the guys will have hamburgers with cottage fried potatoes for dinner. I'm trying to be real careful what I eat right now and stick close to my exchanges because this is the weight I've been at before when I have sabotaged myself and started to regain - so I'm trying to get through the next barrier.

My dining room is done with the exception there is a tall chair that goes to the island that I'm not using right now and need to find a good place to store it. I'm thinking to clear a space in the pantry for it.

Stayed on food plan.
Drank water.
Exercise bursitis exercises and household chores.

Hope everyone is having a great day.

Sarah,
yes hubby did find something. A creamy colored wedding pantsuit for $1. Must be a size 10 or 12, as I can't even fit into the top. It is just beautiful, with lace on the bottom of the pants and the top and sleeves as well.

will try to sell it on ebay.

It looks like it could be worn as a wedding pantsuit instead of a wedding dress, just beautiful.

We went to town when hubby came back. I found a pink blouse. I think it will be too big, but I can just take it in. I love pink tops...and really only had 1, I am wearing it, so now i will have 2 pink tops.

The other day when we went to Manistee to the DGD vollyball game, I found 2 pair of pants at goodwill, one a navy, and one a dark foresty sagy green. Not sure if they fit yet, if they are too big, I can take them in, if too small, they will just sit in my closet until I can fit into them...

big game at 3:30, so looking forward to the wolverines pulverizing the opposing team...lol

Hi Everyone

Sunny so far but from the looks of the radar rain later.

Ann I never knew it got so hot in your area. I hope the heat lets up soon. It is so hard to get rest when it is hot. Be sure to drink your water to stay hydrated.

Patty did hubby find goodies at the yard sales? Sounds like a fun morning. So great waking up to the smell of coffee. Your hubby is a keeper!

Jan I don't have that Buttermilk Coffeecake recipe. I have looked but can't find it. When someone comes by I'll see if that is the Splenda cookbook I have. Has it been posted on here?

Not much planned for today. There are a few odd jobs I want to get done. I need to clean my fridge. The shelves need wiping down and clean the outside. Just the usual jobs around the house.

Do you have weekend plans? I hope they include something fun.

Enjoy your day!
