Congratulations Jan! Isn't it fun to watch a fellow TOPS become a KOPS. I like those celebrations.
I didn't sleep much night before last so yesterday I was exhausted by noon. I went to bed early last evening and woke at two this morning. Now at six am I am ready to go back to bed for a while. I will be glad when my body decide to sleep regular hours again. I am not worried because this happens periodically and then stops. I'll be back to "normal" soon. Gidget however is growling about it. She wants me to go to bed at night and stay there.
I can hear her right now. She is telling me what for. I'll see you later.
Ann, I'm going to pull out that booklet. In this economy it's good to know how to make those soups and other things from scratch. I'm sure it would safe money.It's called Help Me Cook Healthy. I just skimmed through it and found some great tips - I didn't know you could refreeze Cool Whip Lite. And I didn't think of storing the Bisquick Reduced Fat Baking Mix in the freezer. I need to read through that booklet more carefully.
It's funny, today we had two sets of visitors who must think the gorgeous weather we had is our "norm".
Tomorrow I'm hoping to make Cafe Au Lait Chocolate Chip Bars.

Yes, DH remembered the cottage cheese. Now I have lunch for at least 4 days.
Jan, I think I have the same booklets that has recipes in it using powdered dry milk. I got it out not long ago and read it again and it really has a lot of good information in it.
Today never did really warm up. The cloud cover came in early and it is just about dark already. I hope the rest of the week continues just like today. It really is good sleeping weather.
Mac and cheese was so good.

This was TOPS day. Our Area Coordinator and her husband visited our chapter today so it was very special. We were also surprised by our Area Captain visiting. What topped it off was a special TOPS friend reached her goal weight again so there was a celebration. Our coordinator gave a great program. I lost .75 lb. this week.
The weather is beautiful today. It's 74 this afternoon and looks like we have a few more good days ahead.
Patty, I loved listening to Fibber McGee & Molly. I can just imagine how their voices sounded. In those days actors voices were so distinctive because when we were listening to them we had to differentiate who was speaking. That was a good saying.
Sarah, I enjoyed hearing about everyone's favorite comfort meals too. I don't usually feel much like cooking on Wednesdays but dinner needs to happen. Good reminder to thaw something for tomorrows dinner.
Ann, I hope your DH remembered the cottage cheese. I've got a JoAnna booklet that tells how to make some things like cream of chicken soup or cook & serve puddings. Need to pull that out to check it out.

Today is my TOPS day and I lost another 2.5 pounds. I am plugging along. We are getting ready for fall rally now. Our weight recorder came up with a great idea and we are working on perfecting our presentation.
I didn't get much sleep last night. I went to bed at about 3:30 this morning and the phone rang at 6:30. It was someone trying to sell something to my roommate. Not a good time for things like that. My alarm went off at 7 as usual and since I was awake I got up. Now I am completely worn out.
The TOPS ladies agreed to have lunch at a local church where the meal is free. Wouldn't you know they served Tuna Casserole. Not one of my favorites. The ladies who were doing the cooking did a fairly good job though. I am grateful for there efforts.
I haven't a clue how many carbs there were in that lunch, I know it was more than I should have.. I'll to a test in a few minutes and see where I stand.

Good Afternoon. It was over cast all morning but now the sun has come out. There is a nice breeze so don't think it will get as warm as predicted. DH had his bone scan and now off to DS shop so he can use his land line to call in his pace maker check. We only have digitag phones now. I wonder if he will remember to stop on the way home for some cottage cheese for me. The produce store near the dentist office yesterday didn't have the brand I wanted. Today he drives by the one closer to us. Same store I got some at last week.
I finished my book. Better not start another or nothing will get done around the house. I have been wanting some mac and cheese and since it is cooler I will fix it today. Just about all of JoAnna's recipes call for Cr. of Mushroom Soup and the one in the Cooking Across America is very good. I think I will use a recipe that just makes a cream sauce. I have a package of cheese from Harry and David's that was in a pkg. GD sent at Christmas time. My weight is down so I don't think the extra calores will do much damage.

It is overcast but not sure of what the weather person is calling for todays weather.
It was so fun to read all your favorite meals. Thanks everyone. Jan I have more than one too but I guess the fried chicken one gives me the most memories. Ann it is funny how different sections of the country are so different in the cooking processes. We had roast/baked chicken and of course chicken with dumplings but fried was top dog. Nothing like dousing chiicken in grease! lol
Patty you are sure getting some good exercise in with all the wood stacking. The shower will feel good. So will a nice wood fire this winter!
I have a few things I need to get done today, hand washing being one of them. UGH! Hard to wring things out by hand.
Heather the pics of your classroom are awesome. What a great learning environment for your kids. Hope you are feeling better.

Just came in from stacking wood. Mercy, that makes me sweat like a stuck pig...lol
Once I stop sweating, I can take a shower.
Talking about sweating, make me think of an old fibber mcgee and molly episode, where they say, horses sweat, men perspire, ladies glow...well, I am sure glowing...lol
