Ann, I haven't seen the spinach/apple salad at the Costco here. There is a great broccoli salad mix that we like in the walk in cooler/produce area . The spinach/apple sounds good so I'll have to look more closely. When my sister's hair came in it was curly. I have some framed pictures I love that have no place to hang. Sometimes I change them out by the seasons. The ones in the living room or dining room are the ones I see regularly and seeing a blank wall in those spaces is an alarm to me to get something on that wall!
actually I have had the shots before every time I got one I was sick for 6 to 8 months, after 5 years of doing that I stopped. I've just figured I just don't have the immune system to handle the shots.
Thanks gals though, I'm hoping I will feel better soon.
I was out of town all day with two friends. What fun we had! WalMart, Fashion Bug and Michaels (crafts). It was hot but we didn't know how hot until we headed home and saw a temperature sign - 100! Well, it felt like it - my friends car isn't air conditioned so windows rolled down.
Patty, You definitely have your exercise ahead of you. Sure hope your daughter gets relief for her back pain. There's a doctor in this vicinity who is known to do really good work with backs, necks. I hope your daughter's is one that can be treated.
Heather, Sorry to hear you have been sick. I didn't know you were moving - sounds like you found a good place and it will be fun to start Lela with school.
I think I am coming out of the fog I've been in all day. The Benadryl drip they give me doesn't put me to sleep more than a couple of 10 min. cat naps but does put me in a fog. I know it is 10 min. because I watch the clock so I don't miss my trips to the bathroom. 1 1/2 hours max. One lady didn't come back to the room after a bathroom break. When she came back some time later she had a change of clothes on. Pants earlier and a moo moo second time around. She must have had an accident like I had when I had my first chemo and waited for someone to bring her a change of clothes.
Interesting thing we noticed today. The chairs we sit in for chemo are leather like, probably plastic and not very comfortable. as I don't like to recline. When I get out of them I am so stiff. After a patient leaves for the day the nurse wipes them down with some type of sani wipe clothes. Great touch.
We were out of there today in 4 hours. Yeah, My GP wanted me to find ou if I can have a flu shot. Not until the results of the next lab work to be sure my blood counts aren't down. I did have a shot today to protect the bone marrow as this one chemo will send the white cells down.
Easy supper. DD brought me a caesar salad from Costco that is enough for 3 people and I had some pizza slices in the freezer to heat up. They also had come from Costco. I wanted DD to buy us the spinach apple salad but she said she could not find it.
I did go to the Dr. office today with out any thing on my head. My hair is about 1/2 inch long and white. I always wondered when I decided to go au natural how I would make the transisions. I sure didn't think I would have to go bald to do it.
Jan, if you only take a couple of days to decide where you want pictures you are doing great. I have some cardboard pieces on the wall here to see if I would like the placement. for some little pictures that are framed and they sit on the cedar chest. It's been at least 3 years. Then I have pictures on the floor by the computer desk that have been there over a year and a basket of pictures on the garage that were taken down over a year ago and never put up. I guess. I also have a box of items that I made in a machine embroidery class that have never been hung. the living room and dining area are about the only place I have pictures up. There are some in the family room.
Patty, that is good your mother recognized you today.
Heather, do you get pneumonia shots or maybe you aren't old enough. Do take it easy.
I don't want to discourage you, but back surgery for both my dad and myself made things worse. I had 7 herniated crushed dislocated disc when I had back surgery, it's forever changed my life.....I'v ehad neuropathy in my legs now for most my life due to the surgery....and many other problems too, and still have back pain, in fact the back pain is even worse now. :( My dad's didn't work either, and he had his back surgery only 4 years ago. (mine were over 20 years ago each).
Well, I've had pneumonia all week, finally on the upswing though, and looking forward to getting well, I think I'm almost there now. But, boy was that horrible, that's the worst bout of pneumonia I think I've ever had (have gotten it ever since I had my first back surgery, when they collapsed my lung to do the surgery it has forever made my lungs bad!)
We're pretty much moved into our new home, have Lela's class room all ready, just need to start school on Monday. I didn't do it this week cause with the pneumonia I literally couldn't even get my breath and because of that I couldn't think well at all, and very bad headache, tired, it was awful. I still have some crud in my lungs, but I can at least catch my breath now. I was scaring the kids and myself most the week with not being able to catch my breath. UHG!
Good morning Girls, When it rains it pours. Hubby has not had any wood out there for me to stack, he had some split, but just not delivered over to where it needed to be stacked. So then yesterday, he delivers those 2 loads of wood, and does 2 more and brings them over. 4 loads of wood to stack...oh my...good exercise...I told him I will only do half today and half tomorrow.
DGD foot ball game tonight. We will go, and it usually takes an hour to get there. It will be a little bit cool, but not freeZing cold like it usually is when we go. He is a senior this year. His last year in school. This is my daughters son.
Oh, by the way, she is doing so well emotionally. Has not been in hospital for over 2 years. I am praising God for sure on that. I know you have prayed for her over the years. Did I ever tell you her name? It is Christine. She has tried everything for her back problems, pain pills, chiropractor, shots, next is the surgeon. She has a bulging disc, and it is stubborn, sort of like my daughter and myself, and will not go back in no matter what we try to do. So next step surgery. Her pain scale is between a 6 and an 8. Not good to live like that. She has tried everything else, so surgery it is.
Hubby and I went over to see Mom yesterday. Did I already tell you this? She is so thin. She knew me right away, but not hubby yesterday. Sometimes it is the opposite...
ok, now down to business
how was your yesterday?
Did you move? no
Did you drink your water? I am not sure, as I didn't keep count well. I do not think that I got it all in though.
