I have to rave about the Willamette Valley Blackberry Cobbler. Delicious!

Good afternoon everyone,
I too am taking it easy this afternoon. I filled my dehydrator and my oven, with peach slices this morning. I took a few peaches over to a friend and still have several left for us to eat in the next few days.
Somewhere last night I read an article that said food prices are going to skyrocket this year. We knew that didn't we. The article suggested that we preserve all the food we can this summer. We've been doing that too! I wonder why when summer is basically over they tell us to preserve food. Thank goodness we don't wait to be told.
Now I want to get some tomatoes to dry. I tried drying a Roma tomato last week and it is great. So now I want to fill the dehydrator and oven with tomatoes.
Sarah, I saw Jan's question and thought. I've been working on a master grocery list for quite a while. Mine has a lot of exotic foods on it, but it is a great base from which to work. Sometimes just reading it will give me ideas for menus.
This morning I woke up especially early. I tested my blood, set up my pill boxes and then went downstairs. I was hungry for oatmeal. That seems to be a fine breakfast for diabetes. I made enough for both of us and then started on those peaches. All morning I worked on peaches and for the first time since my diagnosis I think I ate a snack. It took me all morning and I only ate those slices that were misbehaving. There weren't too many of those. I was surprised at the number of peaches that had the seed split open. I wonder if I planted those seeds would they grow into peach trees?
Now the birds are fed, I am fed and it is time to take a nap. I'll see you later.
Good Morning. It is quiet in the neighborhood. DH has gone to another baseball game for GS. He wasn't sure if it was one game or more. Probably depends if they win or not. At least these games have been close to home. It is a pretty day outside. I think it is 80 but a nice breeze so it doesn't feel so bad. Tomorrow I will be busy getting ready for the bridge luncheon on Wed.
These pills that diabetics take aren't setting to well with me. I think I will give my Dr. office a call tomorrow.

Good morning Patty & everyone,
The sky is blue and the sun is out- looks like another gorgeous day. We don't plan to go anywhere today. I've got lots of blackberries to deal with. I'm going to bake the Willamette Valley Blackberry Cobbler and make jelly for the guys.
For our mid-day meal the guys will have hamburgers and potato salad. I need something lighter so think I'll do a big salad with lean protein. Also need to look to see if I have rotini on hand because I'd like to make the Creamy Tuna Twist salad.
I need to get in and organize the pantry again so it's easier to see what I have on hand but that won't be today with the jelly-making going on.
Did I move? yes.
Water? Not enough. I'll work on that today.
Stay on plan? yes.
Hope everyone has a super day.
Ann, I hope your tummy has settled down.
Judy, I came out good with very few blackberry scratches. DS & DH wore shorts so they had double scratches.
Sarah, Hope you got inspiration for your shopping list.
Louise, How is Sabrina doing?
