Home again and everything put away. As soon as I drove on the base my left hearing aid battery went out. No problem I always carry two spares. Get to the commissary parking lot and replace the left battery and take out the right one to replace it too and darn if I didn't drop the new one. Never did find it. Oh well, I'll put one of the old ones back in. That seemed to work and off into the store. Just got inside and both batteries are dead. Of course about this time some man asked me where sweet and sour sauce would be located. I walked to the other end of the store and got a new package of batteries, went to speedy check out to pay for them. Lady in front of me had two bottles of soda and the lady in front of her had to write a check. Finally got through and put new batteries in and ready to start my shopping.
Since I bought some fresh ground beef I think I will make hamburgers for supper with cold slaw.
Patty, the ripple caplelet pattern sounds beautiful. Is there a pattern somewhere? Is it crocheted or knitted? It is good that your hubby checks in on his friend like that. He is such a blessing to that friend.
Well, it looks like the day is going to be rearranged quite a bit. The contractor just emailed that they will begin demolishing my steps and porch planking today, which means unloading the porch lol. GRRRRRRR so the contractor who did not give any notice before deciding to begin, despite my asking for 3 weeks when we would be on the schedule emails and says "We need the porch cleared as well." We have part of the studio out there. I replied and said "Well it won't be done during the workday today. This is why we asked for 24 hours prior notice. It will be cleared this evening and ready to go tomorrow."
And oh joy, another contractor comes out on Friday to give a plumbing estimate so we can get repairs done prior to waterproofing the basement. Yeah, life is quite nuts right now lol!
Let the jackhammers begin!
I am deep in the throes of trying to wrap up or begin some projects before school begins for me on September 10th. I have 3 dates to show my work at the farmer's market as well as 2 shows in early October, my book is 1/2 done and then there is getting my work out onto more social media.
The BIG project, however, is this one:
Soul Stories. What are soul stories? Soul stories are the stories that only we can tell. Stories that shed light on who we are, what we want to tell our families, discoveries we've made along the way, etc. We all have stories that can only be told by us.
Through an e-course series, skype sessions, email, etc I would send a series of prompts and conduct interactive discussions. The information gleaned from those exercises would then be used to create a Soul Stories journal that either I or the participant create using their art, my photography and templates. I'm anxious to begin the outline over the weekend.

You can't punish yourself into change. You can't whip yourself into shape. But you can love yourself into well-being. - Susan Sky
Ann we had that kind of AC in NYC and liked it a lot. Its very easy to install the hose is not a problem at all! It really helped there. The central air there was just not very updated and didn't really work if it was aboe 90 degrees there.
Good Morning Patty and all to follow. I'm going to get ready and go grocery shopping and so far today it is cooler. Just after 9 a m and the sun isn't out yet. I can't get in the commissary until 10: a.m. It opens at 9 for handicap only.
Patty, I haven't knit on my hats in over a week. Just too hot.
I guess I should think of something for supper before I get supplies but my mind is a blank.
Good morning Team, Yesterday, hubby and I went to visit with Mom. She was not having a good day. Really out of it. She wanted to nap, so we left.
Today, hubby is going to town. I am staying home. He has this buddy, that he goes to see. The buddy is on dialysis once a week. That must be terrible. Anyway, when these 2 get together, they talk and talk and talk...I stay home.
I knitted 7 rows on the blue baby sweater this morning.
Started a ripple pattern capelet for nursing home. It is in a pastel, very pastel, variegated, like for a baby, blue, pink and mostly white. But very pastel. I have enough of this yarn to make 2 of them. Hubby bought the yarn at a yard sale a couple of years ago... I also want to work on the capelet that I do not like the colors. I will work on 1 row each day. I have 3 rows to go, then the finishing row, which has a scalloped hem.
so should get it done this weekend. I could just work on it and get it done, but why work so long for 2 days on something that you do not like. I put gold yarn in there, and I don't like how it looks. It will be fine, just wish I had used a different color.
Yesterday aftertnoon, I went to the woods with hubby. He was cutting a couple of trees down, and he wants me there in case of trouble, like the tree hitting him, cutting himself with the chain saw, etc. When he is cutting up the tree, once it is down, it is fine, just getting it down is more dangerous...it was beautiful in the woods. We have some nice trails through the woods, up and down hills, and such. So pretty.
Another beautiful day here today.
