Ann, I am so sorry you aren't feeling up to par. Those treatments take so much out of people. I've heard that from several people. They caused my ex's spine to collapse. He is still with us though and that makes it worth the trouble.
Both my roommate and I have caregivers. They are different people. Hers is a woman I allowed to move in our trailer in our front yard when she had no place to live. Mine lives a few blocks away. My caregiver isn't committed to her job and therefore isn't very reliable. I never know when she is going to be here. She doesn't let me know if she isn't going to be here. She doesn't do a good job when she is here.
Sunday when she here she made my bed with my foot pillow on top of the upper sheet. I got in last night and had to tear the whole bed apart to get my feet up on the pillow. just doesn't seem to care. That is really disappointing after having James for so long. He still comes up to help out and I can't pay him. I think he is the greatest caregiver.
I will be able to take my container garden with me. I am excited about that. I will have a patio and there is room for my plants both inside and out. I haven't harvested anything yet, but there are plenty of blooms. It is unlikely that it will turn cold down there as soon as it will up here in the mountains.
Paulissa, I am so glad to see you posting. I didn't realize that name belonged to you. I am sorry to hear that you are having digestive problems. It helps to know what to do about them doesn't it. Did you finish school? I would love to go back to school and went I move in my new apartment I just might be able to do that. I will be much closer to schools.
I found out yesterday that the complex where I will be living needs a recreation coordinator. I am sooo qualified. I checked out the closets in the two community rooms and there is space to store things for community activities. No, I am not even considering Bingo. There are so many other things to do.
Louise, Thank you for the information about kidney stones. My third son has had problems with them most of his adult life. I had gall stones which eventually caused the gall bladder to explode. I know just how painful any kind of stones can be. I will be drinking more orange juice. I already drink cranberry juice to prevent other problems.
I hope you can get your husband to go square dancing with you. It is such fun. Perhaps when I move I will be able to do more walking, ( there are rails in all the halls so I can walk safely with support) I am looking forward to retiring my power chair for a few years.
I will have to check out the Adkins plan and the other one you mentioned. Because of my recently discovered Diabetes I am limiting carbs and right now it is very difficult to maintain any program. I can do alright with water, because it is so hot, and vegetables don't present much of a problem, but just eating regularly seems out of my reach.
I have very little appetite anyway, but this heat just totally zaps any hunger I might have had. I know I shouldn't complain after all you others have experienced this summer. I have just never been able to cope with heat. To me 80 degrees is much too hot. However, I never got cold in Anchorage. I don't think I ever buttoned my coat up there. I really began to feel cold when I came back outside.
I need to get busy today. I didn't sleep last night. I went back to bed at about seven this morning and slept until one this afternoon. That was a good sleep, but now I am behind and I need to write to my daughters. I'll see you all later. Thanks for all the good wishes. I certainly can use them. I really want this move.
