It doesn't have a AC, and it's extremely hot...I'm trying to figure out if we should buy a ac for it or try to put a fan some where inside.... I haven't decided yet. lol And man is it hot out. But, if we can camp in the shade with a fan we will probably be ok.
It was a cool day here, cloudy and a bit of rain in the evening.
I love 4th of July. My best memory of it was a neighborhood picnic/potluck. I remember deviled eggs, kids able to stay up after dark and sparklers. I think of watermelon and corn on the cob. I love both!
Today I made two recipes from Marlene Koch's website. No-bake Red, White & Blue Cheesecake Cupcakes and Classic Creamy Coleslaw. I haven't tasted the cupcakes yet but they sure look good. I had some red/white/blue cupcake liners. The cupcake/cheesecake is of course white and you top it with a slice of strawberry (I used a raspberry) and then fresh blueberries.
Sarah, 4th of July would not be the same with out hot dogs, and maybe corn on the cob. I also am going to fix potato salad. No watermellon. I'm thinking of fixing a peach cobbler. Not with fresh peaches though. We don't get dessert very often here unless it is fruit or maybe ice cream. DH brought me a large DQ and I can make it last 4 - 5 days. Still have one day left on one.
I have some chicken tenders thawing that I am going to cook for a salad tomorrow night. I've also gotten some other odds and ends done today. Rehemmed a blouse that part of the hem was coming out. Sewed a button on another blouse, made some bran muffins and balanced the checking account stmt.
Patty, I'm sorry your mother has her up and down days. I guess that is normal for the disease.
Heather, what fun you are going to have getting the pop up ready for camping. I bet it is a little warm for that now. Does it have an air conditioner?
Among the blogs today there is an article on Title IX. Title IX had a tremendous effect on my life. It wasn't just about athletics. It covered education as well. It also made it possible for women to claim their mutual credit in a divorce and the reestablishment of the family. There are many other facets of the act of which I am not aware. That entitlement was a turning point for many. I am so glad it exists, may it continue for a long time.
