I don't know where you are Louise, but I am certainly glad I am not there. Our temperature today was a comfortable 68 degrees. The day was sometimes sunny and sometimes cloudy, just a nice Pacific Northwest day. My son told me last evening that we are supposed to have a cooler summer this year. It has to do with the La Nina. I don't understand that, but I sure appreciate a nice cool summer. I don't do well with heat.
My doctor's visit today wasn't encouraging. I am going to have to get down to business and follow the ADA diabetes diet and take my pills as prescribed and get some exercise each day. I haven't been as careful as she'd like so now I must be or I will have to start taking insulin. I don't want to do that. My course is mapped out, now I must follow it.
Right now I am going to bed. Seattle days have a tendency to leave me somewhat more tired than those days when I stay home. I wonder why that is
I'll see you tomorrow after TOPS. Say a little prayer for me, I am aiming for my fourth consecutive week of losing. Gotta break my old record.
Good Afternoon. I'm back from my trip to the lab and then I thought I'd see if the audiologist on the 4th floor might be available to look at my right hearing aid. He was. The right aid slips a little from my ear canal. The first question he asked me, had I lost weight since Dec. when I got them. He said the ear canal will shrink with weight loss. I will just live with it unless they completely fall out and then I will have to have another mold made.
We took DS to the air port last night. He should be home by now. I hope he gets a few days to get readjusted to the time change before they have to drive up to Mi. to take care of DIL dad's problems. The dad has found a senior apartment living that they just charge by income that looks like a possibility. I don't like the fact that he would still cook for himself. DIL was talking to him on the phone on Sun. and he had been napping. He started to cough and DIL hears a beep beep beep over the phone and asked him what was beeping. It was the smoke alarm. He had put a ham hock and saurkraut on the store and forgot it and fell asleep. I hope that scared him as much as it did DIL. They also don't want him driving any more. I don't know how that is going to get solved.
Last night when we went to the air port at 8 p.m. it was so nice and balmy outside. Right now it is 67 degrees and sunny. I'm still wearing winter jammies to sleep in.
My budget food is anything I have made ahead and frozen.
Patty, getting a bone density test is a breeze. About the easiest of all tests. I hope your redo on the mammogram goes well.
Louise, have your DH look into going all digital with Verizon to save some money. DS and DH spent a lot of time at the Verizon store. DS says we will save about $50.00 a month. The computer, house phones and cell phone are all digital now. The cell phone has been switched to a throw away phone that you only pay so much a day when you use it. I think there is a max per year.
This is what blows my mind. We have an old princess phone that if we hook up to aVerizon wireless box we can take both with us when we travel. We could be in Texas and still get a call coming into the house on the box with the princess phone. It just has to be a land line phone. If we were in the motor home we would have to have electricity, either from a power post in a camp ground or we could run our generator. Our cell phone has one phone number and the house does have the original. No more AT&T bill.
If the power goes out in the house we have 2 hours of back up battery that will last 36 hours. I think that is correct. So many new things to learn.

Just whipped together H.E.'s Saurkraut Salad. Tastes great. Like sweet and sour kraut. Great side dish or on hot dogs.
Will post on recipes under sides or veggies. Try it if you like kraut.

Jan it sounds like you have the best weather heat wise! It is supposed to be in upper 80's for the high today.
Louise I hope all works out for the best for your DH. Your go to budget foods are the same as mine. Dried beans are still a bargain at the market.
Jan your day sounds full. Your meetings must be great fun with you as the leader!
The rest of my day is full of "put off" jobs that I don't weant to do so I put them off until they get to be overwhelming tasks. UGH!
I'm trying to figure what to do with a pound og hamburger meat too. Maybe JoAnna's Salisbury steak, that uses 8 ounces. Always Blazing Glory Chili for the other 8 ounces.
Hope your day is a happy one.
Enjoy the fruits of summer!

It is raining and I'm almost embarrassed to tell Louise our high is expected to be 61. Next two days the sun comes back.
DH got called to drive and accepted it. Not sure where he is going but if it's a long trip he will call. So that gives me some time to dig into some of the housecleaning it is hard to get to while he is here. I also have some preparation for TOPS meeting tomorrow.
Louise, I was reading Hungry Girl website yesterday and they had a little blip about how all gluten-free isn't equal. Something about how (I think it was) Dominos pizza is going to offer gluten-free but people with this issue needed to know more. You might want to google that. Good luck to your husband with this new job/ SS, etc.
Hope everyone is having a good day.

Good Morning Everyone! I thought I would start us off today. It is sunny and will get warm.
It is suppose to be around 107 today. I did not say hot because yesterday was around 112 and compared to that 107 is warm! I am not sure what we are doing today. DH and I might start fixing up our townhome and getting rid of things we don't need. He had an interview today but they called last night and said it was cancelled because the person did not want to do a second interview. However, they told him he was hired and orientation would be in July.
They will call him with the date and time of the orientation. He is still going to go to Social Security tomorrow to see about retiring and how much he can make by still working seasonal or part-time.
Well, everyone, please have a Great Tuesday!
