I bought it at my local Kroger, I can't remember the name though. But, it had trout in the name, and I said wow that is really really red trout, I had only seen white. And the fish monger told me it was because it had been bred with salmon. I asked for one an it tasted really good. I may buy it tomorrow. Krogers cooks it fast and for free, and fairly healthy (don't ask for butter! lol).
Try Toprican cream for your wrist. I bought mine at Whole Foods, actually I went to whole foods looking for a different pain relief cream that they didn't have, the man in charge of that section told me they had just gotten a new cream and had samples and asked me if I would like to try a sample, I did. And it works great. It takes the pain away and seems to also heal...in meaning instead of needing more and more cream I seem to need less and less!
Ann, not sleeping well is part of fibromyalgia...just something I live with periodically. I am on amytriptaline, 20 mg... had my dr. appt today. remember, that I went off my bp meds in April? my bp today was 120/78 woohoo
my weight was down from last time I went there
she does not think I have carpel tunnel, as she did some tests on my wrists, and no it did not hurt nor cause more numbness, thinks probably tendonitis from using my hands too much...
I need to have some bloodwork done, and 3 tests done, mammogram, bone density, and colonsocopy...these will be done soon...
all together, it was a good dr. visit.
I think turkey salad again tonight for supper. That was just so yummy last night.
Good Morning. When I was in grade school we lived near a river and I did try fishing. Once I caught an eel and that was the end of my fishing. I really only like salt water fish. I never heard of kokanee.
This morning I have been working on Meat Ball Stew. I have the meat balls chilling in the refrigerator. I learned one time that if you don't chill them as the recipe says, they fall apart in the stew. The rest of the ingredients are assembled and the frozen peas are thawing. This afternoon after I get some mojo back I will get the rest done. I'm making a double recipe so I have freezer food.
Judy, when your caretaker serves you too much food you need to get in the habit of splitting the dish for another meal before you start eating.
Patty, have you ever taken Benedryl tablets to help you sleep? I know they work for me and I found out that is what my DD takes when she can't sleep. My Nurse Practictioner gave me a prescription for anxiety pills to use when I have to have the MRI. She said they are also good if you have trouble sleeping. Lorazepam 0.5 mg. I'm still undecided if I'm going to use them. I really hate taking meds.
I didn't know of trout bred with Salmon. Kokanee is landlocked salmon and are found in the high mountain lakes around here. I am referring to Washington and Oregon. There are now some in the rivers, but I think they may have been planted.
What is the name of the cross-bred fish? Would I be able to find them in a market? Where would I be likely to catch them? I have all sorts of questions about them.
Sounds as if we need some knock-out drops around here. I am really sorry you are having trouble sleeping. I think we all go through that at one time or another. Still it is very frustrating while you are having the problem.
Yesterday Jules fixed a fabulous salad for me. I don't seem to get enough of fresh salads. I really enjoy them too. She dressed this salad with homemade ranch dressing. The dressing was delicious and really added flavor to the salad. Normally I don't care for any dressing except rice wine vinegar or lemon juice. I haven't been able to convince her of that.
Jules doesn't seem to comprehend healthy eating. She likes to fix lots of cream sauces and her servings are about three times as big as is healthy. While eating the wonderful dinner she made last evening I realized that I was painfully full. I haven't had that feeling for a long time. I am so glad that I have learned so much about how and what to eat for good health.
I think tonight I'll prepare fish. I was given several trout and they are waiting to be used. I need to do that before TOPS tomorrow because I will be asked how they turned out. I love fish of most kinds, (no catfish please) Salmon and Kokanee are my favorites. Trout is a close second.
When we used to go camping I liked to get up early in the morning and catch a mess of trout for breakfast. That along with sourdough pancakes was wonderful fare to start our day. I had my kids trained not to speak to me or let their shadows fall on the water. Having done that I could put a weight on my line and toss it in the river and then sit on the bank and read my book. That was a wonderful vacation for me when the children were small.
Do you like to go fishing? Have you ever used a trick to obtain quiet time for yourself?
