Yes he was in law before becoming a writer. I also enjoy his books.
One of my friends always picks up all the utensils at the buffet with a napkin, I prefer cafeterias, and such. Like a Amish restaurant here that is all you can eat, they serve the food at your table family style, and only the waitress and your family touches any of it, I like that kind of thing better. Plus I find most other kinds of buffets to be more of a cattle feed-cheap junk, that isn't very tasty or good quality either one.
Ann, I am glad you are taking care not to expose yourself to too many people. Like you I don't go shopping the first week of the month. My food stamps don't come until the eighth. That is convenient in some ways. The better loss leaders come after that first week, so I get more bargains for my money.
I really enjoy John Grisham's books. His writing style is very easy for me. I think he must be an attorney or at least have studied law at one time. His books reflect that profession. I still haven't gotten a copy of "The Last Juror" It is on my agenda, believe me.
I have a bunch of books to pass on. Half Price Books didn't want the last batch so I will just take these to the food banks for people to pick up. If you don't have enough food you surely aren't spending money on books.
t is cool up here today, a bit too cool. I crawled back in bed to get warm. Gidget agreed with me and got in under the covers too! So far no precipitation today. I could use a bit of sun. I know very soon I will be complaining about too much sun. Bear with me please.
This week is filling up fast for me. Tomorrow I have a dental appointment. I found out last Friday that I am covered for new dentures. I will discuss that with him tomorrow. Tuesday I will go to Seattle to see that doctor, Wednesday is TOPS, nothing on Thursday yet and Friday back to Seattle to participate in the open house at NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration). I have visited them in Alaska. It is fascinating to see what they do. When an Iceberg fell off Antarctica I contacted NOAA and a nice young man who was going out to see what happened to that ice kept me informed until they were no longer following it. NOAA also keeps track of earthquake and volcanic activity.
So you can see this will be a very interesting week for me I hope all of you have as many fun plans.
Just to get a thread going for the day. First we've had sunshine and then the clouds took over and now the sun is back. I finished reading my book. The Last Juror by John Grisham. It was really good. I think I have two more thrift store books to read before I need a new supply. I'm saving the books I've read because when we have RV rallies we always have a book exchange and now I'll have something to contribute.
I've decided to eat at home tonight instead of the Soup and Salad Buffet. Maybe I'm being to careful but from the info I have on low white blood count you are suppose to stay away from crowds. There generally isn't a crowd at the early buffet but everybody does handle the utinsels. DH didn't seem to have a problem with eating at home. Tomorrow would be my grocery shopping day but I don't go the first 5 days of the month as it is too crowded after S/S checks are out.
DH did find the brand of coffee the #1DS likes. If he has any other special requests while he is here he'll have to find it himself. DH drinks 7-11 store type of coffee on his walks and instant here at home.
