I met with my medical team Friday and the plan is as follows: I have another ultrasound on Friday to see if the cyst has shrunk or grown, I will also have an MRI and CT scan to see if we can get a feel for whether the adhesions are of an endometrial nature or scar tissue adhesions where we don’t want them. Right now the discussion involves laparoscopic surgery to excise and cauterize the adhesions and the high probability of a bowel resection, which I’m told will involve a lengthy hospital stay and recovery. Once the radiology results are returned, I will be seeking a 2nd opinion. Any surgery will be scheduled for after my final on the 2/21, barring any unforeseen emergency that might move that up. I admit to being scared, frustrated and depressed at the prospects.
