THIS IS HILARIOUS-I was looking at a diabetic recipe for waffles on a diabetic site. LOOKED REALLY GOOD (you all know what I mean!!) Then I looked at the serving size. Get this- It said one serving is 1/2 of a 6 inch waffle. Does'nt that mean you get a 3 inch piece. Well that is one mouth full. I just started laughing. THAT IS THE REASON I USE JOANNA'S RECIPES!!!
Ann-the yellow split pea soup sounds good.
Patty-I have trouble eating enough veggies and fruit too some days.
I made a chicken vegetable soup today in the crock pot.
also am trying to fight a cold virus my grand-kids had last week, the reason for the chicken soup. May make the sour cream biscuits with it. Nina
Well we are going camping next week for 3 days but not going to the BlueGrass Festival. DH said he's decided not to go. I wonder if filling the motor home with diesel this morning had any thing to do with his decision. I'm just as glad as I know it would be cold over there.
I think I have run out of cabinets, closets and drawers to clean. It sure has kept me away from eating. I have three bags full to take to the thrift store tomorrow. I haven't made sugar cookies and over 20 years so why have I kept all the cookie cutters. Out they go. Also some other kitchen stuff that never is used. DH took an extra TV that sat in the garage to the shop and gave to one of the mechanics. I friend who quilts for charity will be getting a very large kitchen trash bag full of fabric. I should put a sign up out front of the house that says "Drop your left over yarn here."
Hi Patty, and all to follow. It is 53 here and the sun is out but no blue sky. Sorta gray. Maybe the overnight fog hasn't burned off at the beach yet. DH left super early with the motor home so he could get a parking place before the employees filled up the lot where the fellow will install our new radio/CD player in the motor home. I thought he'd be back by now. I know he has a few other errands he wants to run in the car.
Yesterday was a cooking day. The yellow split pea soup I made had so many onions in it, the house really smelled. I even put out a dish of vinegar that helped. We didn't have any for supper as I always think soup tastes better the next day. So that will be tonight with a sandwich. I'm thinking egg salad which we haven't had in eons. DD came by with her new computer for dad to do something for her and how she hates onions but didn't even notice the smell.
Remember last week how DH sat at DS house for three days waiting for the AT&T guy? Well, yesterday DS got a phone call at the shop that someone would be out yesterday. He told them the work was done last week. Then a bit later he gets another phone call that a repair man was headed to his house. I guess AT&T isn't very busy. They are still having problems with the TV hook up.
I've almost run out of cabinets to clean out. Good thing we're going camping next week.
Good morning Girls, Sunshine here this morning and blue skies, 37 degrees. Don't you like the daily weather report that I give you...lol
senior center for lunch
I read yesterday, so want to knit today. Am going to try 30 min. of walking today too. Slept so well last night, once I got to sleep, and I think it was the walking that did it. Sometimes it keeps me awake and restless, but last night was great sleep.
I have to confess, I did not do the fruits and veggies yesterday. Only 1 veggie...terrible. Today is a new day, to make all new resolutions in, and hopefully to accomplish them.
man, it sure is hard to type with a numb index finger on my right hand. I keep hitting the wrong keys...lol
have a good day girls. We are doing so well. Praise God Patty
