Some of the trees are starting to turn red. Get to see the fall for the first time in 7 years. I just love the fall color.
Patty - such nice things you make on your blog
Went to Bible study tonight with DD#1 had a good time.
Tired chat with you all later
Patty, when you learn to down load that file from H E Yahoo Common Folk thread please remember so when I get home in Nov. you can walk me through it. Don't sell yourself short --- You have a blog and know how to put pictures on it. More than I know.
Jan, we went to Costco here in Redding. I don't know if it is bigger than the one we go to but they sure have a lot of different stuff we'll never see. Lots of stuff for cold weather, like jackets, different kind of comforters, books, work clothes, even a face coverer and the one DH found was a brush on a long handle that swiveled to clean your gutters. They have a lot more convenience type of food than I've never seen. Like pre made casserole type. In the cold room they had a bag of ingredients to make a Chinese salad for 10 only $3.99. If they have that at the Costco where I will pick up stuff for our Nov. campout I may fix it instead of cole slaw. I did get some fresh raspberries and dried apricots that our store was out of.

I got up at 4:30 to make Bruce breakfast before he left on a driving trip. He is back and we are both tired.
I used the free time this morning to do laundry, sweep down cobwebs and the bedroom blinds, change the bedding, bake a batch of black bean brownies. Troy met a woman in the woods with a hatful of chanterelles so he is off hoping to find some for us.
Patty, it is fun seeing the pretty things you are making.
Sarah, We don't do anything special for Columbus Day. Many years ago when Troy was a toddler and Quinn was on the way, Bruce got the day off so we had a 3 day weekend. I remember this well because we drove down the coast and it was a beautiful weekend with sunny weather. None of the jobs I worked had that day off and that was the only year Bruce had it off. Columbus, Queen Isabella, the Pinta, the Nina and the Santa Maria.
This will be a good day to put out more autumn decorations. Or take a nap. Or both.

Patty, I had never heard of Anne of Green Gables until we went to Prince Edward Island with a caravan group and took in the play. Just loved it and loved the island. We've been back one other time. I bought the tapes for my GD when she was a lot younger. (30 now) I would love to watch them again and also the follow up stories. All I can think of is Avonlea or some thing like that.
DH is napping again. How can one person sleep so much, especially in a chair.. I call it being bored. He is not a reader.

Hi Sarah, and all to follow,
It is beautiful here today too. 77, sunny and breezy, and beautiful reds oranges and yellows on the leaves...just beautiful. As Anne Shirley, of Anne of Green Gables, would say, I am drinking in the color. That is really appropriate, as I need to color to last through the long winter. Orange yarn will be used a lot this winter, that;'s for sure...lol
New pics on my blog.
Took Mom to the store for visiting with cousin. It was a little bit hard without the second cousin. Time will heal. She has lot been happy since her hubby died a few years ago.
OK, remember all those projects I had started, all 4 green sweaters. Well 3 of them are done. Two of them striped, and one solid. The 4th will be done soon, and it is a dark sagey green.
We are hopefully, finishing up the lasagna tonight. We will have green beans and apple slices to go with.
It is pretty today but yesterday we had rain all day. Rain is always welcome here.
What are your plans today? I'm cooking yellow rice and chicken. I'll have enough leftover for chicken chili. I need to do my kitchen floors also.
Are you cooking today? Do you do anything for Columbus day? Nothing special here except a prayer of gratitude to Columbus. I can't imagine the hardships they must havee endured.
Hope everyone has a blessed day!
