My personal favorite sloppy jo recipe is from Cooking Healthy Across America. It's on my recipe blog, under the Across America book. I don't add much seasoning to it, mainly garlic, onion, onion powder, etc. What ever looks good in the cabinet that day.

However, a really good seasoning mix of Jo's was Loose Meat seasoning. Randella posted the recipe here-

Just scroll down to Randella's post.

I've never used the seasoning mixes from stores for sloppy joe's so don't know how it compares. I will say compared to Manwich, it's a whole lot better the way I make it from Across America and just adding garlic, and onions, etc. I use the sugar free, or low carb ketchup, as it's really low calorie as well.

It is cooler today but they say it will warm up again to the 90's next week. It usually does not start really cooling here till October.
As far as it cooling down north of Sacramento that does not happen till you start climbing the mountains out of Redding. I know this because I use to live in Redding for 13 years and travel to my moms in Turlock area. Redding is as hot as Phoenix in the summer time. But can snow a little in the winter.

Good Afternoon.

Louise I'm glad you are feeling better. Yes, it is impossible to excercise when you don't feel well. I've been getting in two 1 mile walks a day forever it seems. The scale isn't moving very fast. Yesterday I got an extra 1 mile in.

Patty, that is kinda funny that your mother doesn't hang up her clothes. Second child hood I suppose. What are you going to do with a gallon of honey? My mother liked to send the kids a gallon of maple syrup every Christmas. The syrup was made by a close by farm. DH and I told her not to send us any as it was too sweet for us. #1DS and DIL loved it and I don't think #2DS ever used his.

Nina, is it cooling down where you are at all? Today our thermometer say 72 but the sun isn't out and it feels a lot cooler. I know when we head north in another three weeks once we get north of Sacramento I assume it will be a lot cooler. After we visit DH niece in Southern Oregon DH wants to drive over to the coast and then come south. Sounds like a round about trip but the coast is nice but you only can drive so far with the motor home.

I'm going to make Creamy Broccoli Soup today. I'm going to use a recipe that calls for cauliflower but I don't see why broccoli wouldn't work. It is pretty easy.

Hi everyone

FOUND A SLOPPY JOES-in Potful of Recipes cook book. Check out Main dishes in recipe section. Also found that the HEALTHY JOES came from the "Cooking Healthy with a Man in Mind" in back section called Man-Pleasing Classics. I went in and adjusted the recipe that I posted.
I got side tracked with the recipes yesterday. Will try and get the Healthy Jo's in the recipe section.

Walked again today. It is 1 mile after you walk there and back to my grand daughters school. I did it Mon. Wed. & Friday. Trying to get use to exercising again.

Computing the rest of the day. DD#1 is going to have spaghetti tonight. Since I cannot have the tomato sauce, I will make mine with a stir fry mix. I use peas, okra, onions, garlic, and mozzarella cheese. It is actually really good.

Have a great week-end.

Good Morning Patty and all who will follow! Patty, house work never ends. Just when I think a room is cleaned I have to clean it up again! Well, I still have a cough but I feel much better than I have been. The last few days I had stayed in my nightgown because I slept off and on.
Today I showered, dressed and put on a little lipstick. Well, I have to go grocery shopping and
buy healthy foods. I also have to get back to exercising. Maybe if hubby and I feel better tomorrow we will start going back to the Health Club. HAVE A GREAT DAY!
GOD BLESS!
Louise

Morning,
Going to Mom's.
Will fix her lunch, hang her clothes back on hangers(she takes them off hangers and doesn't put them back on, very frustrating, Monday, I had to hang back up 35 pieces of clothing)
take her to the store for shopping and visiting.
I need to clean my dining room today.
That is the first room you see when you enter my home.
I want it cleaned up. Stuff all over the floor and the table...ugly
I did clean up the kitchen last night. Looks so nice, cleared off counters and table, washed things, and swept and mopped the floor. I should take pics to remind me how nice it can look

Have a good day girls.
Patty
