It's a cloudy muggy day here. Yesterday I helped set up for our TOPS garage sale and this morning I helped out at the sale. It's always fun to see what people brought to sell and fun to see what people buy. Me? I came home with four small darling teddy bears and two beautiful jackets that are still too small but someday they will fit.
Ann, I've gone back to using PointsPlus but I'm very mindful of not overdoing the fruit. I'm going to continue with the walking with Leslie. It is very frustrating when the scale doesn't reflect our efforts. I've heard it many times at the scales. I think sometimes we forget if we're not writing what we eat down but also for many of the TOPS ladies the culprit is too much sodium.
Patty, You sound very happy with your new stash of yarn. What a nice hubby.
Nina, I'm sure you enjoy spending time with your grandchildren. I, too, have wondered if you closed your AZ home or would there be the possibility of going back?
Patty, yes I remember Dazzleaire yarn. I'm getting upset with Red Heart. The verigated yarn is so thin and some of the solid colors are very thick. Makes knitting them together a pain. I bought a big 14 oz. (note not 16 oz any more) skein of white and it is like rope. I'm tempted to write Red Heart but I know it wouldn't do any good. Maybe they would send me a coupon. The Caron yarn I bought at Michael's is the same way. I had a couple of colors that was great and then one color is also like rope.
Nina, has your house in Az. been closed up? I bet you're anxious to get out in that RV.
Hi Girls, Ann, I am just being lazy in this heat, that's why I have not been online much. I have been loom knitting, and posted some pics of hats on my blog.
I just got home, at 4, from Mom's, had to do 3 loads of laundry. She , well it doesn't matter what she did, I had to do 3 loads of laundry.
When I got home, hubby had bought me some yarn at a yard sale. bless my hubby. I will take a pic later, and put it on my blog. Ann, remember Dazzleaire yarn? There is a lot of it in this batch of yarn that he got me. I am so thrilled. I love Dazzleaire yarn, sure wish they had it back again. sweaters and hats and more, oh my...
Hi everyone I notice that there is not many on here all the time. Some days are more than others. Summer is a busy time of year, for most.
I am babysitting, although they are not babies. One is on a game on the tv and one on a game at the computer. They are not allowed to just play games. They have to earn points to do it. So they think this is great that nana is taking care of them and their mom said they could play games all day if they wanted to.
my DD#2 and her hubby went to the water park-that way they can have some fun alone and also know what to expect when they take the kids.
I am still working on entering in recipes for the nutrition tracker. Hoping to make it easier. I hope we have internet on the next job my honey goes to. Also hope I get to go with him next time. You all have a good day!! Nina
Yeah, I have supper in the crock pot. Last night we had spaghetti and I had sauce left over so Chicken Cacciatore for supper. Actually it will make enough for 2 meals. I didn't have a bell pepper but had a small container of roasted red and yellow bell peppers in the freezer. I missed the cheap bell pepper sale, last week at the produce store to make some more. This recipe is from July 1999 newsletter.
Jan, good job on the weight loss. I get so frustrated that it goes so slowly. I've been walking with Leslie two, three and sometimes four times a day. One mile each time.
Sarah, will you get any rain out of the storm that thankfully didn't develop into a hurricane?
So far August is being very comfortable. I just hope it keeps up.
Patty, you're been missing a day, I hope all is well there. One RV blog I read daily about a couple that travel full time in their motor home is presently in Traverse City.
Sure wish we'd hear from Louise. I have wondered if since her mother in law passed away if she has had to care for her father in law.
Healther hasn't been around much either. And there are others. Glenna is probably busy with the summer canning. Maybe Paulissa is still on vacation, if they ever got out of town. We havn't heard from Shar in a long time. Cindy is also missed. She would have loved the quilt hobby room I saw on Wed.
