I just got home from my TOPS meeting and having lunch with friends and a bit of grocery shopping. A friend who moved away last fall to live closer to their daughter in Utah is back for the summer/fall so we had a nice visit. My weight stayed the same this week.
There are many vacant homes in our area. Three in the next block that have been vacant/unsellable for over a year. The one across the street belonging to a couple who divorced - she just moved out and he and his girlfriend moved in. I've heard the couple nextdoor to them want to buy it and I hope that works out. They are older and have health concerns so this would be a smaller property and less house to take care of. With quite a number of homeless people in the area it can be a concern to have empty houses.
I'm making spagetti & meatballs for dinner - we haven't had that for a long time and it's a favorite for DH.
It is mid afternoon here. Did you all over sleep like I did this morning. I woke up at 6 a.m. and decided it was too early to get up and then I didn't wake up until almost 10 a.m. That doesn't happen very often. After I got my walks in with Leslie I had to make a big decision, Do I eat breakfast or lunch.
Golly, another house looks to be vacating. This house is across the street on the opposite corner. There have been workmen there all week taking off the old roof and getting ready for a new one. I'm been waiting for the smelly tar but they haven't gotten to that yet. I'm sure they'll wait for the hottest day of the week to tar the roof. Ha. Now there is a U-Haul truck and I have seen them bring out boxes. DH reminded me they had a yard sale last week end. The people in there now have lived there quite a long time. My end of the street seems to be very stable. Mostly us old folks.
We seem to be missing quite a few people lately, I hope they are all well and maybe just busy.
I'm going to make sloppy joe for supper with cole slaw. We haven't had that in a long time.
