Patty-when my honey had bronchitics the only thing that seemed to work was benadril. It started working right away to dry it up.
Also I found a mushroom soup recipe that sounded so much better than any I had found. Will try and find it and send it to you.
Jan-that banana bread sure sounded good. It has been really hard not to be able to cook like I use too at home.
Sarah-I know just how you feel. Had to put my very active dad, at one time, into a home today and he was not happy with it, but we no longer can lift or do the things that have to be done. We were hopping we would not have to do it. Thinking of you Sarah
It is hot and humid here, so summer is here for FL.
Some things are settled concerning my Mom. Her neice by marriage will be her guardian so that is good. Haven't found a nursing home yet. I hate that my Mom has to go to a nursing home, it just makes me feel like my heart is breaking. I know it is for the best though. Mom wasn't eating and I know she will be fed. I just need to accept this as what needs to take place. My Mom is the only family I have so it makes it harder. The lady that is the guardian has her own family and never really communicates with me. Not fun being alone in the world. I'm sorry to be so down but this is just the place my head and heart is at right now.
Thank you everyone so much for your prayers. It has meant so much to me.
I hope you each have a blessed day.

Girls, (non gluten-free girls can use other products for these recipes too)
For those of you who are gluten free, I just realized that a blog I have been reading is gluten free. Don't know why it never connected before.
But anyway. The blog is a Year of Slow Cooking.
You can either type it into Google, or go to my blog, and click on it there.
She also has 2 cookbooks out for slow cooking, (my fave) and they are gluten free.
She talks often about being gluten free, and explains which brands are truly gluten free that she uses.
Hope this helps you to be able to make wise choices, and just give you more variety.
Also, the blog, Lemon Ginger Girl is a gluten free blog. You can find it either on my blog, or google it.
Good luck, and enjoy the new recipes. Maybe you won't need to buy so much pre-prepared food, and can make your own. Always better if we can, because then we know exactly what is in it.
Anyone have a healthy recipe for cream of mushroom or celery soup? I suppose that I could make a thick white sauce, first sauteeing mushrooms or celery. hmmm. that sounds good, and simple. I will have to try that. Lets see, what can I make for lunch that uses creamed soups...has anyone done this?

Good morning girls,
The sun is out and it might reach 60 today. I hope to find a surgical glove here so I can put my gardening gloves over that so I can get out there in the dirt. Lol. Can't remember if I told you I got a cut on one of my knuckles. Those things are hard to heal. There are a few iris about ready to bloom.
I have 3 ripe bananas so I'll be making Becky's Prize-Winning Banana Bread. A piece of that would go nicely with a cup of tea.
Patty, I'm sorry you didn't get any relief from your doctor. Mom used to say gargle with warm salt water and also to drink hot lemonade with honey.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday. What's going on where you are?
Sarah, how are things going with your Mom?

Just got back from the dr. I have bronchitis.
They do not give antibiotics for bronchitis any more. It is bad for our immune system to have so many antibiotics
Dr. said bronchitis lasts 2 weeks with meds, 2 weeks without.
At least now I know, and will not go in to the dr. next time.
My throat is so sore, and is not even red dr. said...funny huh
Hope you all have a great day.
Me, I am staying home, lots of time resting.
