However, a lady gave me a HUGE bag of marigold seeds and said the same thing, so I guess I will be planting them too! lol haha

oh, something else I remembered. Put those moth balls around your garden. Animals do not like that smell.

A lady boss I use to have that was a organic gardener, said she also always planted garlic around the edges of her gardens. My DS and DIL put an electric wire around their garden and the deer just jump over it.

I think I remember people planting marigolds around the garden, to keep animals out. Course that would be a lot of marigolds, but maybe a few would work too. Something about the smell of them.

YEAH she came and got the sweaters.

Ann, I am not sure about the animals, I know we have a lot of rabbits! I am planting onions and garlic around the garden hoping that will keep them away. In years past though I never had problems with the animals eating the garden, so I don't know.

Good Afternoon Ladies

Nina, I hope your DH gets the job he applied for. That would be wonderful for you to be out of the higher elevation. From one extreme to another. No snow to shovel either.

Shar, nice to hear from you. Another gardener eh. I'm not a gardener, but DH has a couple of tomato plants started. I think they are still in tubs. Our ground is so hard and clay.

Heather, do you have the problem there with the animals coming and eating your plants. My friend in N. J. says all the flowers she has planted are almost all eaten. I know my DS and DIL in N. C. have a terrible time keeping the wild animals out of their garden.

Patty, I hope the lady shows up for the sweaters. You worked so hard on them. Not nice of her to let you know.

Tonight will be left overs for supper so that will be easy. I'll just cook another vegetable. This morning I made an old recipe of a cheesecake type that is mixed in the blender. This is a test to see if I think the bridge ladies would like it. I'm trying to decide on this or the Choc. Eclair layered desert. I know I can't go wrong with that one.

The lady stopped at the house this afternoon to pick the sweaters up.
As we live in the woods, no big garden here. We do try to have a couple of pepper plants and tomato plants in the clearing by the house, but they don't do much.
I envy you your large gardens girls.

Hi everyone

At my daughters for the rest of the week. Will get some rest from the stress. This will help my IC flare up.

Hubby looked for work today and found a job to apply for that is in his field of cable and phone. It would be double the income we make now. We would have to move, but I would not mind being near my daughters and more stores to choose from.
Also my pressure head ache I continually had in our altitude in AZ went away the minute I was down the mountain in Bakersfield. I have always wondered it the altitude was part of the problem.
Please pray for the Lords will.

Hi Girls,
It's been a while since I have posted. Just so darn busy it seems but I do keep up on all of you.
Patty I have heard about all the bad weather you have been getting. I remember many years ago while on vacation up there there was actually snow mixed with rain in the middle of June! It was so darn cold! Hope your snow melts fast.
It's been darn chilly here and wet.
Heather I have never heard of violet jelly. Sounds interesting. I want to plant a garden this year too. Missed it so bad last year plus the prices of groceries are up so much. So when it warms up and dries out a little hubby will be working up the ground for the garden.
Patty it was very rude of that lady not to show up just hope she eventually does.
Well all I will get going for now. I still have two little boys left. I am taking tomorrow off. I remember when Good Friday was a holiday but anymore it's just another day. So sad.

I am still working on my garden. I got diesel for the tractor last night, so my husband will be able to make me a second garden bed tomorrow. (I have a viewing to go to tonight). I can't wait to get started on the second garden area. A lady on freecycle gave me hundreds of seeds! But, now I want some violet flowers as well to make violet jelly, I think I am going to make dandelion jelly this week with the girls though!

Afternoon Girls,
We went to lunch at senior center.
The lady that had me make those 2 sweaters was going to be there today, to pick them up. No show.
Well, she can pick them up at my house I guess.
So glad they are done. Snow is melting, though everything is still covered. Spring will soon be here,. I heard someone say that they had 2 seasons, winter and July...lol

Not here though. We have all 4 seasons, but winter is the longest.
