Patty, I wish you well with your knitting projects. We'll call you Super Knitter.
Ann, The funny thing is Saturday afternoon after a session the elevator area was so crowded that my friends and I decided to walk the six flight up to our rooms. When we got in the stairwell someone came out on the second floor but I ignored them because I didn't recognize them as any of the TOPS group. My friend later told me that was "Elvis". I sure wish I'd paid attention. He had a beautiful wife who did a Hawaiian dance to a couple of the songs.
We had hamburgers for dinner. I love hamburgers and it seemed like a good Friday night treat.
Good Afternoon All. It is a warm one here. About 80. Of course DH loves it and I don't. He's out moving the grass and edging in the hottest time of day. Men
I make a trip to WalMart today. I don't know if you ladies read this in the paper but WalMart is going to bring fabric back to the stores that lost it. Also craft items. The paper said they would put items in the aisles again as they were adding more merchandise. Cindy have you seen that yet in your store? I didn't miss the clutter aisles but today there were many. I found some great Northern White beans at WalMart today. Their own brand but the commissary doesn't seem to carry them.
Louise, I think Sam's and Costco sell about the same items. I think they both have their own brands. To my knowledge there is only one Sam's in the city and not close to us. Costco isn't far away at all. They also sell gas. $4.25 a gallon here today for regular.
Sarah, the applesauce raisin bars do sound good. Do you think I could just each one? Of course not.
Jan, I wonder if the Elvis impersonator at your SRD convention was the same fellow that entertained us last year at Lacy, WA. He said he was a top winner in Elvis contests. Yes, he was good and enjoyed by all. Sometimes our RVers walk out during entertainment as they don't care for it, but I didn't see anyone walk out for this fellow. Even the men.
Patty, how nice the ladies have bought and ordered some of your sweaters. Now you can buy more yarn. You might try selling them on ebay. I would like salad every night too but DH wouldn't beable to eat it.
Now I must think up something for supper. I've had no plans this week.
No time to read, no time for computer. I took those 2 baby sweaters to lunch today to show a couple of knitters there. One lady bought both sweaters, and another lady commissioned me to make 2 toddler sweaters for her by Thursday Mercy, that's a lot of knitting. so I won't be on here much for the next week. Pray that my hands and wrists hold out fo rme.
It's still morning here. It has been rainy but starting Sunday we will be getting some sun breaks - it's been a long, cold, rainy winter and spring so far.
I have a new job at TOPS as weight recorder so I have been studying that. After our meeting a week ago Wednesday I came home and packed my suitcase for SRD. We left early Thursday morning - a four hour trip to Eugene with 3 other ladies. Since we live so far away, we leave on Thursday otherwise we would have to leave at 3 AM to get there for Friday meetings. It was a wonderful time. This is our state's recognition of all the people who have reached their goals or who are division winners. Very inspiring. We also had great fun with fourteen in our chapter attending. I came home Sunday afternoon and slept a few hours and a full nights sleep as well. When you stay up til 1 AM giggling like a school girl, you have to catch up on sleep.
My oldest son is not doing well. He is full of anxiety and depression over his situation. He found a councelor but I don't know who it is and don't see much help at this point. He sure needs all the prayer he can get.
My youngest son's new roommate is moving out at the end of this month so he is in the process all over of looking for another.
Saturday is Bruce's birthday so we will be celebrating that. I got him a wonderful book I am sure he will enjoy.
I lost half a pound last week and I want to keep the ball rolling.
Patty, I'm heading over to see what you're making and your friend's website. My son was recently telling me about how important fresh fruit and meat is.
Louise, I thought of you when our banquet entertainer at SRD was an Elvis impersonator. The other ladies told me he's the best they've seen. It was great fun and many people there got up to dance. Remember - if you can't find a partner find a wooden chair - some of them just danced in the aisles.
Sarah, That recipe sounds good. I have to see if I have that recipe.
Cindy, I love how you quilt with your granddaughters and I'm glad Jacinda is doing okay and there will hopefully be consequences for the bullies.
it is nice and sunny here today also. it is 66 right now. tomorrow promises rain. we have had so much rain this year. we havent even tilled our garden yet because it is so wet. dave did mow the lawn for the first time last night. it looks so beautiful.
today i have been so lazy. i didnt even have a hard night at work either. i have to take care of my horse and then i am off to bed. i know i will sleep good. tomorrow some of the grand-girls will be here. i think we will bake if it is raining. if it doesnt rain we are going to do some work i n the flowerbeds. it should be a fun day.
hope everyone is having a wonderful day. blessings cindy
Good Morning Patty and all who will follow! Patty, I love the baby sweater! It is really beautiful! I also went to Homemaking On The Homestead. It is a very interesting blog. All of you are very busy, makes me feel very lazy. Like I said before, you are a very talented lady. The lady who does the Homemaking On The Homestead is very busy with all the cooking she does and the praying for her children. I don't think we ever give up praying for our children even though they are adults. I don't think The LORD wants us to give up praying for them. Well, I think I mentioned that I have been doing Leslie Sansone's 1 mile DVD. Yesterday, I actually did her Two-Mile Faith Walk. This morning I did her A Closer 2 Mile Walk, Walk By Faith Series. I was not sure I was going to make it this morning but I kept repeating "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13 and I finished doing the DVD! I was really happy. I also sweated a lot but I felt good afterwards. A little later this morning I will do Wii Bowling for an hour. The Leslie DVD I did this morning was 35 minutes. When they describe it on the back they say it is 30 minutes. However, then in a box it says the DVD Includes 2 Mile Faith Walk--35 Minutes and a Studio Blessing--5 minutes. I times the walk and it is 35 minutes. It is really a low impact aerobics DVD. I have been feeling so much better since I have been doing Leslie Sansone's DVD's. Of course, I still like walking outside when I can get my DH to go with me. I still do not do a lot of fancy cooking--mainly plain but healthy meals. I am going to see when hubby wakes up if he wants to do the Wii bowling with me. It is a lot of fun when one does it with someone else. SAMS Club is having a special tasting for members and non members today through Sunday. I noticed that they have a lot of gluten-free items so DH and I are going to go and see what they have. We used to belong but never went. Now I am thinking it might be good to join SAMS Club again. We have a SAM's Club closer to us than a COSTCO. However, I don't think the COSTCO is too far either. I just did not know if either one was worth it because we buy a lot of produce and meat and not so much can foods. Anyway, we are going to check both of them out. Well, everyone, please have a Great Day!
Morning Friends, I just finished another baby sweater. Started it yesterday afternoon and finished it this morning. It is just so cute. Pics on my blog. I hate having to wait until I get home this afternoon to start another one. Hubby always helps me pick out the buttons...isn't that so sweet of him. Lunch at senior center Take Mom to store for shopping and visiting with cousins Home to begin another baby sweater...oh my Leftovers for supper
One of the blogs listed on my blog says she has salad every night for supper, along with other things of course. Hubby and I have started that, and have had a salad 2 days in a row. Raw food, nourishing food with all the live enzymes. Should make us healthy, yes? The name of her blog is Homemaking on the Homestead. a great blog if you are interested check it out...
