Hi Judy

What a great route you have planned! Some great cities to visit. New Orleans is one of my favorite cities. I hope you miss spring break in Key West. It is crazy there when all the kids are there. Be sure and rent a scooter, so much easier seeing everything. Duvall Street is the main drag and it is the street with all the bars on it. I is interesting and you will meet some interesting characters.

There is a small shop off Duvall that makes leather sandals while you wait. Hemingway's home is a definete stop. Loads of cats there LOL

Sarah....

We just came into Livingston Tx from San Antonio today.. We're both ready to hit the hay....long day on the road.

Will tour our mail forwarding facility on Thurs,,,should be interesting. Tomorrow we will head up to Livingston Lake to check it out. Looks like a huge lake on the map.

Leave here on Fri. to Galveston and along the gulf coast on down to the Florida Keys. We're really looking forward to it. Will stop in New Orleans for 10 days... I love that city and want to see more of it this time.

How are you doing? Ready for spring?

Well, off to bed...haven't gotten used to daylight savings and the changing time zone yet.

Hi Everyone

We had a really pretty day here, 80 degrees, sunny and low humidity.

My day was lowkey, little cleaning in my kitchen, cooked a tad, read and then wached some tv. That was it for my day, y'alls sound much more fun.

Jan I had to laugh out loud about the flying wig. Bless the lady's heart. Things happen that are so embarassing at the time but later in life they are very funny. I've always been klutzy so there have been too many hilarious episodes of my behind meeting the ground.

Patty your meal sounds very good. Today was meatless Monday here so beany pasta was on my menu. Tonight I'm having a baked potato with grilled veggies on top. What are you working on now? Crocheting I mean.

Ann slippery floors really scare me. That poor lady, I hope she is ok. I'm sure it was unsettling for y'all. When is your next trip? I'm ready to hit the road with you and your DH! Love your trips.

Nana hope you are feeling better.

Don't feel guilty for buying my books. I am just silly, that's all.

No, neither Mom nor I go to a beauty shop to have them styled. That is probably done to human hair wigs. We buy the less expensive wigs, that are not real hair. .. I know, sounds icky, but it is fine. We find a style that we like, and buy it. It is usually styled just fine, and simple to make look as the catalogue picture.

I just ordered 2 in a different style than I currently wear. This one is more curly. We shall see if I like them or not.

Good Afternoon, Jan and Patty and all to follow.

Well my house cleaning mood didn't last long. We brought a chair back into the computer room from the garage and the fabric looked like it needed vacuuming. I got out the Whirlwind which the starter doesn't work. You have to plug it in for it to run. Then I took the side hose and attached one of the small brushes. Didn't seem to be working. No suction at all. I guess it will have to go into the shop. I think a repair will be cheaper than a new one. I'll have to check to see how old this one is. Last time I had it repaired I was told they still could get the needed parts.

Then off to Kohl's to return a pair of capries I bought last week. I bought three pair on sale with another 30% off coupon. A day or so later when I took them out of the bag, I noticed I had two one size and 1 pair a size smaller. That wouldn't do.

Patty, when your mother gets her new wigs does she go to a beauty shop to have them styled on her. Every once in a while some one will come into the beauty shop I go to with a wig and get it styled on them. Now you make me feel quilty because I bought some of your cook books. I'm anxiously awaiting the one I ordered from Amazon for a penny.

We went out to our usual soup and salad place last night and it wasn't a very nice experience. I guess before we got there someone had spilled something as the floor was being mopped. They had cautions signs up, at least 6 of them. No, I didn't slip and fall but another lady did. She must have been in her 30's or 40's. They had the ambulance come. I felt so sorry for her as it is so easy to slip on a wet floor. Maybe as she was carrying her tray she didn't see the caution signs.

Jan, I'm sure you will be able to find some thing more fun to do instead of cleaning. Even cooking is more fun than that.

The ladies in our family need wigs when we get older. I have worn one for so long, it seems like second nature to me...lol

For supper

Cabbage Patch Slaw ( I had no horseradish, so just left it out)
Marinated Italian Green beans
Macaroni Lasagna Skillet (It says it serves 4, but it is very large servings)

It called for lemon fruit tarts, but I had no lemon jello, and already had cherry chocolate cream pie, (can't remember which book it is from, I think Desserts), so will just have that.

We still also have some of that jello with cream cheese in it leftover. It should be getting old by now...lol

Supper is ready, just need to put the casserole in the oven for a half hour later.

I love getting supper ready early. At least the chopping, peeling and such done ahead.

DH is driving today. I'm in Monday housecleaning mode.

Patty, I know what that's like to get rid of cookbooks or other things and then awhile down the road I want them back. I chuckled about your Mom's wigs. I had a dear friend who took to wearing them later in her life. You could spot it was a wig from a mile away but I think she believed it was just lovely. She liked to tell a story about going somewhere on a stormy day and the wig flew off and blew down the street. People were trying to help her catch it. Lol.

Afternoon Girls,
Went to lunch at senior center
took Mom home and ordered her some new wigs. I ordered 3 of them, so they should last a year. Hubby said, order your Mom some new wigs, the one she wears looks horrible...and it does, so all taken care of.

Remember when I was selling all my HE cookbooks? Well, now I am buying them back. Hubby just shakes his head...lol

I am once again enjoying JoAnna's recipes...
Got some cookbooks in the mail this morning, and going to look through them.
