Hi Everyone Today did not go as scheduled at all. But I took advantage of it.
A piece on the Bronco broke and DH called me to come and bring his tool box. I had just got out of the shower.
So I hurried, grabbed my list off the fridge (so glad I do that) and headed out. We were able to get the piece and he fixed it and went to work.
I went to wal-mart and spent 3 hours there looking around until we knew the bronco did not have anymore problems.
Was able to get some frozen vegetables they were totally out of the day I shopped and some other things to make some recipes for my points system. Also got me a sheet and 2 yards of fabric to make me a shower curtain and valance for it.
Not getting the recipes copied and have not been able to keep track of my food today.
Did eat at McDonalds but I must have walked 2 miles in that store, all over the place until DH finished at Safeway and got to Wal-mart.
I hardly ever eat at fast food places. You realize after not eating at them very often for 5 years that they do not taste that good anyway.
Fixed a stew, some fast rolls, and left over coconut cream cheese pie of JoAnna's.
Ann, Your campout sounds fun. Good thing that fellow had the heater for the first night. Too bad about the mattress but not a total loss if your DS needs one.
Glenna, My (stingy) aunt gave us a mattress once. It was almost new and we were surprised she gave it away until we slept on it. We had to settle for it for awhile but were sure glad to get one that didn't give backaches. I don't know if the days are that much longer - it's mostly wishful thinking

Nina, Your menu sounds delicious----as usual. I know what you mean about the wood heat feeling good. We have natural gas now. But we cut fire wood for many years.
Jan, I am glad the days are getting longer, too. You are doing very well with the weight loss!
Ann, I totally agree with you. What kind of party was that with no dessert!!! You probably enjoy reading and some quiet time. I know what you mean about the mattress. When we got our new one a few years back, I found it very uncomfortable. I actually asked dh to put the old one back on the bed. Of course, he refused. And I still don't think the new (now old) mattress is comfortable. But dh likes it. So many sooner or later we will replace it.
It's sure not as chilly as the first afternoon/night we were here. There had been no sun, just a cloudy sky. Yesterday and today the sun is out early to warm it up. The air is still chilly. We pot lucked last night. Eight of us. One fellow cooked brats that he marinated in beer. I brought vegetable corn chowder I made a home and there were beans and potato salad with chips. NO DESERT. What kind of a party is that.
One of the couples has a heater that runs off a propane tank so that kept us warm and we sat outside until almost 9 pm. I did get out the 20 plus year old jacket that has some down in it along with a blanket over my legs and was comfortable. Even in this small group I have a terrible time hearing people talk. So irritating.
Today I slept until almost 9 a.m. Makes me think I made a mistake buying a new Beauty Rest Mattress and should have gotten a Select Comfort sleep number as we have here in the motor home. I have thought of giving the new mattress to DS as his is in bad shape. An expensive mistake.
I've taken advantage of the day and done some reading. Tomorrow the festival music starts. I have a hair app't in the afternoon. I've made a fruit salad to go with some left over soup and a sandwich for supper.
Jan, you are doing great with the weight loss.
Judy, lots of people don't like the washer/dryers in the RVs say they would rather spend one day getting the laundry done all at once. I so disagree with them. It's pretty easy to throw a load in, in the evening when you not going anywhere anyway. We do often put DH's jeans in a commercial washer/dryer as they take so long to dry and the wrinkles don't come out in the motor home dryer.
Nina, you probably wouldn't recognize Quartsite today, they even have 2 traffic lights. I'm sure they shut them off in the summer.

The frost was so thick this morning on top of the snow and fog. It was pretty to look at, but glad I am by the wood stove. I am having one of JoAnna's meat loaves, broccoli & cauliflower mix, a scalloped potato if I can find the one with the salsa in it. For dessert I am having the chocolate peanut butter pie of JoAnn's. Can't remember the name of it, but I have made it several times. Yes believe it or not milk chocolate is one of the items I tolerate with IC-just not dark chocolate. You all have a great day.
