Good Afternoon from the rainy west. The whole state is getting what they call the Pineapple Express. We always get the tail end which is showers. DS lives about 5 miles away and DD said it wasn't as wet there.
Judy, sounds like you are getting the Hitch Itch and ready to move on. You have kept pretty busy there in Tucson. Have you ever seen the Arabian ship display in Kansas City. We were in the building but didn't know a thing about it so didn't pay to see the exhibit. When we got home to San Diego I read about it in a Readers Digest. A Sternwheeler I believe that sunk and years later the river diverted in another direction. A farmer was plowing his field and came across the items from the ship. It was dug up and the artifacts were put on display. The ship was carrying cargo and much of it was still in boxes when dug up.
Yesterday I pulled stuck on shelf paper off my sewing area shelves. I got about 8 of the 21 done. They are coming off a lot easier than the ones in the linen closets. The painter mentioned he had a heat gun that would soften the glue. I thought I'd try the hair dryer and that helped a lot. It did leave some sticky residue that DH got off today. I will paint the shelves. DH is trying to be helpful and suggested I do the whole shelving at once instead of one section at a time. There is too much stuff to do all at once. I cleaned 18 plastic shoe boxes of stuff and that took me all morning and that was just from one shelf. Craft stuff, sewing stuff, etc I have quite a few bags for the thrift shop. Lots of videos, silk thread in the most beautiful colors, fabric that came from the bedroom, etc etc. Just a lot of stuff I don't use any more.
I have to quit when my shoulder starts aching. DD came by and helped DH move some items into the house that have been in the garage. I'm am very slowly getting things organized.
DH is suppose to drop of GS at baseball camp this week but I bet it will be cancelled with the rain that is expected for the next three days. That means DH probably will kid sit all week. Maybe I can get my paint and work on the shelves without
being told I'm not doing it right.
Toni, that is an unusual sewing project.
I have not been cooking at all. I was very happy I had left over mac and cheese to just warm up last night for supper. I still have some soups in the freezer we can eat up. This truly is soup weather.
