Yes, baby steps Patty.

Ann, you win the prize on getting the Christmas cards out. When I painted our bedroom blue I also put up a wallpaper border that matched the bedspread. I loved that bedspread but all it took was to get in bed and look at that border and I knew I hated it. The next morning it came down.

Good for you, Louise! Since you have the gluten issue, do you have a list of gluten-free foods or recipes that you love that you can use? I remember you are using a cane. Is your balance effected or can you still dance? I've been doing the Leslie Sansone exercizes-starting with half an hour because I now seem to have aching hips after I walk or exercize. I'm hoping the more I move, the better it will get.

I am not doing well in the losing. Infact, I have gained. Starting today I am getting back on track with my eating and with my exercising. I used to be so good at exercising--dancing every day. However, I have let that slip. NO MORE! I will be losing before the end of this year--not what I had wanted to lose but losing just the same. I have noticed that if I eat gluten either on purpose or by accident
I gain. Well, I am going to very good about watching
what I eat and make sure there is not gluten in it.
I WILL be exercising daily. I want to feel better and have not felt good at all lately.

good Afternoon. The sun is finally out and I hope it heats the house up. The worker took our wall heater covers home to spray paint them so we can't use the heaters. We do have small heater we can turn on if it gets too unbearable. I'm finding that my jeans are not that warm. More on the light weight kind. I will need some warm ones for Jan. when we go to the Bluegrass festival which is all outside and camping with not power. (Unless we're lucky and get near a building that has an outlet like we did last year.)

I got my Christmas cards all done this morning and wrote out applications for savings bonds for two kiddoes. Then I went to the Mail Bank for stamps. DH ran some old electronics to a drop off place and I had him return the paint sample chart we borrowed from Frazee's. I have the paint down for two rooms. Just the one blue bedroom I'm having trouble with the shades I want. Painting starts Monday.

I should bake to warm up the house. But then I'd be the one to nibble on whatever it is all day and I don't need that. I will say by copying and pasting recipes to the catagories I have seen some I want to try.

Nana, I hope you feel better soon.

Paulissa, your itinery for the afternoon sounds like our RV caravan tours. Just the thing we like to do. We all admit we get tired of museums after awhile but when you have a docent give you a tour they are so interesting. Much better than just looking at 'stuff'.

DD moved out today. Temporary. She doesn't like the smell of the texture coating on the walls and I know she won't like the smell of the paint either. I do have a dish of vinegar out. I'm sure after a week or two she will be sick of her brother and he will be sicker of her. GS kept asking her when she was moving in. He's happy to have her there. It's almost like he has two mothers. DD is the one that took him for his physical yesterday and annual shots. I'm so glad DS keeps up with this as his mother doesn't because she knows DS will.

My weight loss has stalled for about the last month. Partly plateau, partly my vision to get to goal lagging. But the dream and want is still there so I'm back on track.

The holidays can really trip us up if we don't think it out. With all of Joanna Lund's wonderful recipes there is no reason we need to feel deprived. I know you aren't all sweetaholics like me - I need my desserts. And I need to feel satisfied. So I'm in planning mode. I'll let you know some of the things I plan to make.

I'm heading off to a TOPS party for our whole coastal area. The food part makes me a bit anxious - how to count it. But I am looking forward to good fellowship and hope the few crabbies who seem to be in every group (except this one) stay home emoticon . Let's help each other through the holidays.

It is sunny and 25 degrees here this morning. It should be a nice day. I hope the morning light finds you well rested and in good spirits.

Well, the party was a blast despite the food. All of the food was either lukewarm or cold, including the veggies! So they had roasted veggies that were as cold as the salad! Made no sense at all. Even the roast beef, which was at a steam table was lukewarm. You know how I am about the temperature of my food. I had it sent to the kitchen to be warmed up, mostly for food safety reasons.

I danced a lot with my friends, including a little bit of swing. They were so shocked that I was doing so well, but it made them very happy. Didn't win any door prizes but met the new CEO, Clare Hart, and got accolades from Ann Kennedy, the COO for my community work so that was kind of cool.

Not much going on today: I need to get a grocery list together and figure out the ingredients I need for my holiday baking, so I can bake and freeze. I got my weights last night so I will be using my body bar today (the 5 and 10 lb weights need to wait until the dr says it's OK). I did some tai chi yesterday which was very challenging for balance but meditative as well. I loved it!!!

Tomorrow this is what we're doing: So much fun and lots of pictures will ensue!!!

Wells Fargo Family Festival - Free Family Fun
Sunday, December 5, 12 - 5 pm

Various Downtown Arts & Cultural Institutions

Wells Fargo will present this year's Holiday Lights Family Festival offering the community an opportunity to experience many of Omaha's leading downtown attractions for free. This year's Family Festival will be held Sunday, December 5th, from 12 to 5 pm. A free trolley service will connect the participating venues described below. Each site will offer free admission and family activities. In addition, Omaha Symphony musicians will perform at The Durham Museum, W. Dale Clark Public Library, and Joslyn Art Museum.

Durham Museum:
"Christmas at Union Station" including Omaha's largest indoor Christmas tree will delight visitors at the museum. Ethnic Holiday Trees will feature one dozen miniature trees decorated by area cultural organizations. Guests are invited to tour the Durham's permanent exhibits and view the following temporary exhibits: Dig it!: The Secrets of Soil and Crowning Achievements, a showcase of the Ak-Sar-Ben queen, princess and countess dresses. Children can also meet Wells Fargo's "Jack the Dog," pan for gold, and participate in a scavenger hunt.

Joslyn Art Museum:
Guests are invited to explore Joslyn Art Museum's galleries including the special exhibitions Seasons of Joy: Currier & Ives Holiday Prints from the ConAgra Foods Collection; Beyond Realism: The Works of Kent Bellows 1970-2005; and Golden Kite, Golden Dreams: The SCBWI Awards. Guests can also visit the art studios and experiment with two simple printmaking techniques to create holiday cards for family and friends or place cards for your dinner table. Enjoy holiday music performed by Tuba Christmas, a 40-piece brass ensemble, will perform in the Witherspoon hall at 2:30 p.m., along with holiday selections from the Omaha Symphony. Don't miss the chance to get your Holiday Silly Bands from Wells Fargo and watch Amazing Arthur perform magic at 1 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m.

Omaha Children's Museum:
Children will have a chance to experience the museum's 2010 holiday version of lightPLAY: A Celebration of Holiday Magic. Families can enjoy watching the brand new Super Snowy Science show free of charge in the Science Lab by Professor Pockets. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be greeting children and accepting letters. Don't miss out on the revealing of the new Gingerbread House, created by Heartland Scenic Studios. Among other activities, ride the carousel for $2 or visit the Big Backyard exhibit for $3. Wells Fargo will offer a hands-on holiday ornament activity.

Omaha Police Department Horse Barn:
Visitors may tour the Horse Barn and learn how police officers care for the animals at the Omaha Police Department Horse Barn. Officers will offer horse demonstrations as guests warm up with Swiss Miss hot cocoa. Among the activities offered at the Horse Barn, the Omaha Citizens Mounted Patrol Foundation will offer face painting, crafts and balloon animals; and Wells Fargo will be giving free stage coach rides from 1 to 4 p.m.

W. Dale Clark Public Library:
The library will host a variety of fun activities and acts around the theme "Holidays around the World." Explore stations for each of the seven continents and get your "passport" stamped. Activities will include costume dress up from The Rose Theater, exploring genealogy with help from the Greater Omaha Genealogy Society, a photo booth in North America, craft tables in Africa and more! Stop by the Wells Fargo activity area for cookie decorating and Swiss Miss hot cocoa courtesy of ConAgra Foods while listening to holiday selections performed by the Omaha Symphony.

Wells Fargo:
Take part in a winter wonderland at Wells Fargo banking store on 20th and Douglas Streets. Enjoy Orville Redenbacher's popcorn, courtesy of ConAgra Foods. Children can enjoy reindeer headbands and pose for a picture with the company's very own "Jack the Dog." Enjoy holiday music by the Barbershop Quartet Been There at noon and 1 p.m., SNJ Singers at 1:30 p.m., Duchesne Academy Handbell Choir at 2:30 p.m., and the Salem Kids & Praise at 3:30 p.m. Don't miss the opportunity to learn about Wells Fargo history - stop by the company museum and see the historically accurate reproduction of the Wells Fargo Stagecoach in the lobby.

Morning Jan, and Girls,
I am still slowly losing. But, I am eating terrible. Got into that the week before Thanksgiving, and can't seem to pull myself out of it. I know I would feel better if I ate better.

Going to DGD basketball game this afternoon. Should be fun.
