Jan, have you found a web site to put in the nutrition to get the Pro Points? I found one if you need it. I read some where that some one figured out if you take the calories and divide by 40 you come very close to the Pro Points in W W. I tried that on a couple and darned if it didn't work.

Cindy, I'd say you did have a good conversation with your mother. My mothers never was an I Love You person.

Glenna, my oldest son was the hunter in the family. He has the mounted moose head from one he got when they lived in Alaska. DIL won't let him have it in the house so it is in his wood shop. He said he darn near had a heart attack getting the animal out of the woods.

I think we finished off all the left over except for some turkey. DH can have that for sandwiches.

Relaxation tapes are a great idea. I have hypnosis tapes for weight reduction. I even bought a CD player so I could listen to them by myself. I know they do work but don't if you leave them in their package.

Good evening all,

I have had a busy day. We have had snow, too. Only about 2 inches on the ground----so far!!

We had company for awhile today. Then dh wanted me to run into town with him. so I got to stop by the library.

Then I had a deer to clean up this evening. I didn't know how the rest of you feel about hunting, etc????????

Supposed to have more snow tomorrow. Then it's going to warm up to 38 on Friday!! A regular heat wave!!

I have been reading everyone's posts and enjoying them.

Good night all,
Glenna

good evening ladies

it was 64 degrees when i got up this morning but it was raining hard. during the day the temp kept going down and now it is 23. i cant wait to get into my warm bed tonight. yes! i get to sleep all night long in my bed.

today i got the tree all decorated and it looks so beautiful. it is decorated in burgandy and gold. i also put gold poinsettias inbetween the branches. i wrapped more gifts until i ran out of tape. i am so glad i have about 75% of the gifts all wrapped.

this morning i went and got my hair done. on the way home i stopped at the lake and watched the ducks and geese in the water. it was so peaceful. there were other people sitting in their cars reading the paper and others just watching.

i did call my mom today also. they have had so much rain that their basement flooded. dad says he has it under contol. mom seemed in good spirits. when we said good-bye she was the first one to say i love you. so, i can chalk today up as a good one.

i hope everyone has a blessed evening, cindy

Good afternoon ladies,

Good TOPS meeting today. I had my first gain since sometime in early May. Back on track. I've been working on learning the Weight Watchers Pro Points program. I had to completely re-enter my favorite Healthy Exchanges recipes as well as some other packaged/prepared foods I eat. In most cases they are 1 point higher than before. I think this new plan will be for the better losses and good health.

Sounds like it's cold everywhere - even in Florida.

Patty, take care of yourself. Have you tried relaxation tapes? In the VA workshop Bruce and I took recently that was one of the tools for us to deal with pain, fatigue, etc. It's the kind that involves taking deep, controlled breaths. Many in our group found it helpful.

Good Afternoon, I'm taking a break from moving stuff. Actually we are down to the big items now. DH disassembled the closets of their shelves and assorted bars. When DD gets here the three of us will try and move the two beds. Maybe I didn't mention that the workers are coming tomorrow. Originally it was going to be Monday. I just hope the family room and kitchen will be available plus one bathroom.

Sarah, I have not decided on paint colors. DD thought we were crazy to buy it at Frazee's as the fellow suggested because Home Depot is cheaper and at one time I saw somewhere that their Behr brand paint was top rated.

Louise, I know you feel better that you've had your head all checked out and no problems. Good that your doctor did a good follow up.

Paulissa, I hate sweating too. The only good thing about exercising in the winter is it warms you up.

I don't think any of you ladies follow Weight Watchers but they have completely revamped their program. Nutrition information is more important than ever now. No more calorie counting, it's all fat, fiber, carbs and protein. They have their own thingy that you put those numbers into, to get the points value. I did download one on the computer. It makes the points higher but every one gets more points per day than before. I do want to drag myself to one of the meetings to get the complete information. Oh, and one good thing you no longer have to count fruit. It's a free item. So are vegetables except for the potaotes, peas, corn and probably winter squash. JoAnna's recipes work so well with the W W systems past and present.

I think tonight is going to be clean out the refrig. DH wanted me to make turkey soup and it came out very good.

I just finished walking a mile, doing 30 minutes of step aerobics (sure did make me sweat) and 45 minutes of strength training with 3 lb weights. Not back to back but with a little break in between. As much as I like the results of exercise, sweat is NOT my favorite things. I'm getting better with it though.

OOOPPSSSS that went right over my head Patty lol!!! You're so right!!! I just started the bread so we'll see how this experiment comes out. I see that there are now a few manufacturers that have a gluten free setting on their machines. When this one dies, I will get one that not only bakes faster (3-1/2 hours on this one!) but has that function.

Hi Everyone

It is chilly here today, 64 now and headed down to 49 tonight. BBRRRRR Time for the flannel and electric blanket to come out. I enjoy a bit of chill in the air at Christmas time. It just seems more like the holidays.

Paulissa way to go on the weight loss. That is great. The chili sure sounds good. I'm a chilly hound.

Patty enjoy the Senior Center. I bet the snow looks awfully pretty. Be careful when you get out!

Judy I hope you don't get down with a cold. The stuffy head and runny nose are the worst. Baking cookies sounds very Christmasy! Enjoy!

Shar it is good to see you back! I hope you and DH had a great Thanksgiving with your DD. I hope your sinus is better.

Ann that was really an interesting article you posted yesterday. Have you decided on the paint yet? It is a hard decision, at least for me it always was for me. Yes Ann I'm an only child. Thank you for the advice about Mom, I don't know the best way to go about things so that was a help.

Nanasknoll you are having some pretty nippy weather. Your meatloaf sounds awfully good.

Louise I'm glad you had the Cat Scan. A head injury is scary. Are you enjoying Christmas music?

Cindy thank you for the words of encouragement. It is hard to see your loved one change so drastically. You just want to hug and protect them. You are way ahead on Christmas! You will be able to relax while the rest of us scramble to buy and wrap gifts.

Glenna it sounds like the little bunnies are going to be nice and warm. Y'all are killing me with all the chili making!! Ok ok I have to get on the ball next week and make some.

I hope this day brings a blessing into your life.

Nope Patty, the maids don't do any of the cooking. I'm doing all of the cooking during the day and David alternates cooking dinners except when there are leftovers. It works out pretty well.

I don't think you complain much. The shorter days and less sun figure into depressing and I'm sure the fibro and the situation with your mom don't help. You have a lot on your plate. Lift it up to God and share with your friends here. That's what we're here for.

Hello all....

We arrived in Tucson yesterday and are enjoying the warmer weather...72 degrees today. Gets very cold at night though 27 degrees last night!

Have been sneezing a lot since we got here..hope it doesn't last the whole month. Putting up the tree tomorrow and baking cookies for a cookie exchange here later this month. NOW it's beginning to "look a lot like Christmas".

My motto now is Stay dedicated in December...going to give it my best shot.

Have a great day.....Judy

Morning,
Paulissa, I have called you groovyhicks for so long, it is hard to change it in my mind to groovyhooks...lol silly huh.

go for comfy at the party, dressy but comfy. Why be uncomfortable?

I have been struggling girls. slight depression, lack of sleep, total exhaustion coming over me in waves. mercy, I complain a lot...sorry about that.

Going to lunch at senior center.

I have made a pair of loom knitted tube slippers for a friend of my DD. Also 6 dishcloths with the scrubbie in the center. For my DD and her friend both. I like her friend, she has had a hard time of it, and it is nice to be able to help her. Just my own designs on those. Now I am making potholders with my magic square pattern.

We have snow on the ground, and it is still snowing. Cars are going slow on the highway.

Hubby took the dog to the vet for rabies shot, license and weigh in. Poor doggie is too fat.

Nothing much else going on here today.

Have a good day girls.
Paulissa, have fun with your maids making your supper. I love that.

Patty

Good morning friends,

Tonight is the first night of Hanukkah. Latkes will be on the menu for the weekend for sure!! No gifts this year other than what we receive from family but it will still be nice. We're not doing Christmas gifts either, but will do stockings and dinner. I bought myself the healthy things that David won't and solved that issue.

It is a very windy and cold 19 degrees here this morning. It appears that winter has arrived but thankfully, not as harsh (yet!) as last winter. This time last year, we'd had 3 blizzards.

Not much going on today: I'll be getting chili into the crockpot shortly and will be making gluten-free, dairy free bread in the breadmaker shortly. It seems like a good day for carefree cooking.

Other than that, I'm just going to get a workout of some sort and some strength training done. I might work on the blogs later and move some more recipes so that I can FINALLY shut down the yahoogroup. I need to figure out what to wear to my company holiday party on Friday. I'm debating between dressing palazzo pants and a nice sweater or a suit, black tights and heels. I'm wondering how much heels, even low ones, might create a pull on the belly???? Anyone have thoughts? I'm leaning toward comfy but dressy. It will be nice to see my work friends (some of whom have visited while I've been recovering), have a nice meal, visit, take some pictures, do some dancing and maybe win a door prize!

I have a few workout DVDs coming in the mail: tai chi, some light weight lifting with a body bar, yoga, barefoot cardio and a zumba DVD. I really wanted to shake up the workout routine because I get bored easily.

I have some allergy eating books to read this afternoon and need to get some more learning done.

What are the rest of you up to today??

Paulissa
