To update your weight loss go to your My Tools page and enter your current weigh-in on the left hand side of the page. That will update your ticker. The ticker is at the end of your messages - not under your picture. Not sure if that is possible.

I don't know, but that would be a nice thing to have. It takes me forever to remember how to get pounds lost on my ticker each month...lol. Let us know if you figure it out.

Can anyone tell me how to get my lbs lost icon to appear under my picture with my stats??? For the life of me, I can't figure out how to do that.

Sarah, Your Mom is in my prayers. In this part of the country there are so many who live here head off to Arizona for the winter for that warmer weather.
Cindy, Your Mom is also in my prayers. Remember Naomi was called Mara because she was bitter but the Lord turned that to good - and who wouldn't want a daughter-in-law like Ruth! It's hard having a parent who isn't happy and who isn't fair.
Ann, I think I have the Leslie Sansone DVD you mentioned. I like the options of shorter or longer workouts. Hope your kids got home safe and sound.

I didn't realize The Singing Christmas Tree is unique to Portland, OR. This was it's 48th year so I've heard of it since the first year we got married almost 41 years) but this was my first time going. It was at Keller Auditorium where all kinds of performances are held. It's all volunteer singers & dancers and it was just wonderful. The risers many of the singers stand on are shaped in a triangle like a Christmas tree. Each year the performance is different but always with the intent to bring Christmas joy to people. They sang regular carols like Come All Ye Faithful, Angels From the Realms of Glory, Joy to the World - but also others like Jingle Bell Rock. There was a children's choir that did several songs. The costumes were great and the skits were fun. It was just beautiful and wonderfully performed. I think if you google singing christmas tree you get a small visual. I wish you all could have seen it. I didn't get home until 8 PM so a long day with travel.

Ann, I don't have any kids from either of my marriages but I just don't see much reason to stop having a friendship if it's possible.

Good Afternoon Everyone, The sun is out but the breeze is darn chilly. DH started for his walk and came back in for a sweater. The campers will be home today. I hope they don't run into to much wind on the drive home. They sorta cut through the mountain and should avoid the worse of the wind.

Paulissa, I have Leslie's 5 Day Slim Down Walk. It has 5 one mile walks on it. It was cheaper than most of her tapes at WalMart. This one is peppier than the one I really like with the weighted balls.
Yes, it is good to be on a friendly basis with an EX. I never thought DS would be friendly with his EX after such a messy divorce. Since the divorce was about 7 years ago they both have adjusted. They even went camping together this week end. Each has their own RV. Good for GS that they get along.

Judy, that would have been interesting to watch the lettuce picking. I watched the CEO of Chicita (sp) bananas who also owns Fresh Express, on the TV show Undercover Boss. He was trying to pick lettuce but could not keep up with the machine.

Sarah, that is sad your mother has Alzheimer's. Too many people get that and they don't even have to be older seniors. One of our RV ladies had it and you had to be so careful talking to her as she could take anything the wrong way and get very agitated. Are you an only child? Did you know that a power of attorney is only good when a person is alive. Once they pass away it is voided. You would be better off if your mother added you to her checking accounts so you can pay the bills and continue once she is gone. My mother would not have done well in an assisted living or nursing home. I promised her I would not put her in one. She was lucky she was able to manage with the help of people coming in every day to assist her and fix her meals. I sure wish I could get her house sold but with the market today it isn't going to happen very soon.

Cindy, I think there are many people who find them selves in the position of your parents. Helping a child and then going through all their own money. So sad.

Well, DH is back from his walk. I better get myself dressed. My robe is so comfy.

hello sweet ladies

sarah, i will be in prayer for your mom. when i went to pa. to visit my parents last august i noticed that my mom is getting to be a very bitter woman. they made a mistake and signed for my sister to buy a home 6 years ago. well, my sister was out of work for 8 months and couldnt make her payments so mom and dad used every cent they have to keep her afloat. no one can say anything to them because they feel that my sister is so special. it has been like that since my sister was born, i really dont know why but i just accept it. when i call mom she has nothing good to say about anything i talk about. i have to lift her up to the Lord every day.

it was 25 when i got this morning. now it is 50 so we are in for a warm day. the sun is doing a good job of shinning out there. we arent doing much today. we will watch football and then i have to go to bed. work tonight-----got to pay those bills!!

hope everyone has a wonderful sunny sunday. blessings form me to you. cindy

Sarah, I will be praying for your mother. What about an assistant living place for now for her? I went to see one with a friend the other day for her mother and it was a beautiful place, nothing like a nursing home. However, I do know nursing homes are neccessary. Years ago before my mother passed away, we had to put her in one. They did take good care of her. I will be praying for your mother and for you.
GOD BLESS!
Louise

Hi Everyone

It is so good to hear about all of y'alls busy day today. We are headed up to around 75 today. We are sure having a summery almost winter weather!

Jan the Singing Christmas tree sounds like so much fun. I can't wait to hear about it. I hope you take pics for us to see.

Judy I would get a kick out of the lettuce harvesting. What great fun you must have in all the places you visit!

Paulissa I enjoy hearing Susan Boyle's voice. Iam going to find the cd online. Such a beautiful talent she has. Thank you for the heads up.

Louise I love looking out on the snow but my feet don't stay under me when trying to walk on ice. I have taken several spills on it in my day! It is so serene to look out and watch the snow falling.

Brrrr Patty! 38 seems terribly cold to me. Do you walk outside in the cold? If the wind is blowing it seems colder too.

I'm not sure what is on tap for today. My Mom has Alzheimer's Disease and it is starting to progress again. She is in Ky so it is hard for me to do the things she needs. I need to get a power of attorney for her, it would make life easier. I know the day is coming that she will need to be in a nursing home for her own protection. I dread that because I know how upset she will be. The company of others would be great for her though. I would appreciate your prayers for my Mom.

I hope your day is full of joy.

emoticon Good morning,
I'm just popping in to say "hi". I'm leaving in awhile with some of my TOPS group to see The Singing Christmas Tree in Portland. I'm really looking forward to this - have been wanting to go for years.

This is our youngest son's last day here for the Thanksgiving holiday so I'm going to make a good breakfast.

I've got a mess in the dining room where I emptied the cabinet so I could move it to put up the village. Need to put all those dishes back but it will have to wait.

Have a great day.

Louise.....We arrived in Yuma yesterday and spent the afternoon, watching out the front window of the MH, as they were harvesting iceberg lettuce for the Fresh Express brand salad mixes. Fun.
Walked the London Bridge for exercise yesterday!(in Havasu City)
After this we will be going to Tucson for the holidays with DD, and from there we head east in Jan. to ??? It is so good to be out of the rain and snow in the NW. It was a balmy 72 here yesterday.

Love the new desk and floors we had put in...much easier to keep up, especially with the dogs.

Off for sightseeing today, so better get in gear.
Have a great day.....Judy

Paulissa and Judy, we all must have been posting at the same time. Paulissa, where did you buy your pedometer that has the aerobic steps as well as the regular steps? Judy, where in Arizona are you? Are you going to stay there long?

Good Morning Patty and all who will follow! I think I will get hubby up and go for a little walk. I have been walking more with my cane. Patty, how is your husband feeling? I am not sure what the temp is outside but I do have the heat on. Patty, 38 degrees sounds really cold to me! One would not think that I grew up in Massachusetts! I guess living in Arizona for 22 years got me not used to the cold anymore. I should clarify that--living in the Phoenix area for 22 years got me not used to the cold--Northern Arizona get really, really cold weather. My friends who have lived in Arizona all of their lives love going up to Arizona playing in the snow. I like staying here in the Valley!!! I think we will do Church tonight. I am letting hubby sleep (I will wake him up later for that walk) because he goes to bed late. He tries to stay on the same schedule for the weekends as he does for the week. I know it is getting to him working second shift but right now he is blessed having a job. Like I have said before our church has a 5p.m. service just like the morning services. I like that.
They have late morning services also but when you go to them you have to park way in one of their back parking lots and have the tram (I don't know what else to call it) pick you up and take you to the Church. Our Church is a mega Church. The only ones I really know there are the people who used to go to the small Church we all belonged to that closed and the people from the Christian Cancer Support Group that I go to. DH and I want to get involved in something else to meet more people but not sure what.
It would probably have to be one of their Sunday classes as the small groups are during the week and DH cannot make that because of work. Well, everyone,
please have a Very Blessed Sunday!
GOD BLESS!
Louise

Good morning....

I need to get back to my pedometer to Patty. My problem is, that living in a MH I don't have to take many steps to get my daily chores done! Now that we are in Arizona's warmer climate I will be able to get outside more and do more walking.

Have a happy Sunday everyone......Judy

You and I must have been posting at the same time. I just posted a long post as well lol!

Good for you on the pedometer. I didn't wear my pedo all day yesterday, but did 1000 in the store and 3 miles with the walking DVDs. I have a new pedo coming that measures aerobic steps in addition to regular steps. I got it because it has a cover over the buttons. The one I have now constantly resets itself if my blouse is too heavy, etc.

Morning Girls,
How on earth did I beat Paulissa here this morning?...lol

It is sunny and cold, supposed to warm up to 38 today. That will be nice.

Nothing much happening here today. Hubby will probably want to go someplace today. He gets bored staying home every day, but we shall see.

I did walk a bit yesterday. Started wearing my pedometer again, and trying eventualy to get up to 10,000 steps. Yesterday was only 3100. But it will get better. You young'un's could do that by noon, right?...lol

Have a great day girls.
