I don't get much crochet time so I'm not doing shawls. I am currently (when I can find an hour of time) working on scarves but will use the surgery recovery time to make some.
The surgery is November 2nd.
Working out teaches me about challenging, yet being patient with myself.

There are 1440 minutes in a day, set aside 30 for exercise.
This is who I am, this is what I do.
You are not a mean mother. We all have problems and concerns. And we all need to vent at one time or another. That is what we are here for---to help each other. that's what friends are for!!
I hope things look up for you tomorrow and you have a wonderful day!!
Patty, lucky you with the yarn supply.

Glenna, the loom knitted slippers are with the blue, (the smallest) knitting loom, round one.
2 strands of ww yarn
I e=wrap for 10 rows
bring up the bottom, to make a nice cuff
then e=wrap for 50 more rows. Makes a nice tube slipper.
Ann, was it? I have more than 1 box of yarn, many many boxes. I have enough yarn to last my lifetime.
Just got back from watching DGS football game. It was only 57. We were so cold. Our team won. The poor other team didn't even have enough players for both the offence and defence teams.
It was an hour to get home, and we got warmed up in the van. Now I am cold again, as we don't have that warm air blowing on me...
Anyway, have a good night girls.
Good evening ladies,
It has been a cloudy day here. I walked with 3 friends this morning and that was fun and made the time go by so fast. Then stopped at Costco. A brand new Good Will store had it's grand opening today. It is right beside Costco and I understand it opened up at 7 AM and scads of people were there. I'll wait until maybe Monday when things quiet down.
DH & I went to a healthy living workshop at the VA. The staff were surprised at how many people showed up. It's for learning to live with chronic conditions. There were some really nice people there and we all got to set a personal goal for the week. We paired up with another person and the lady I talked to is very involved in making things for veterans at the hospital and now also baby clothes for women soldiers or wives. I felt really bad for one of the couples there - the man in recent months had a stroke that has effected his speech. He tried to say something and the words didn't make sense. He gets very frustrated with this and needing his wife to do most things for him and she cried telling us how hard it was to see him like this. Hope was offered that some patients have regained their speech even months or years later. Isn't that what we all would like to hear for our trials - there is hope.
Tomorrow I'm driving a friend to a doctor's appointment and we'll spend some time together.
The only other thing that is going on today is a U-Haul van backed into my neighbor across the street's driveway and they loaded up furniture. The husband and his pickup have been gone for some days so we're wondering what is happening. I would have asked the wife but don't know her that well and if the husband has left - I don't want to go there. If they are leaving I sure hope we get some good, permanent neighbors and I hope someone doesn't rent it out.

Glenna, the sun never came out and temp. on the Welcome page said 68.
I'm all glammed up and no place to go. DH is stinking up the house with his project of covering the back of the TV with his box. He's painted what ever he is doing. The TV sticks out in the room and the sound goes down the hall and he'd probably tell me it keeps him awake at night. How come he can sleep in the chair with the TV on and in the garage in a chair with the radio on. Maybe DD is complaining. I would think that if I had the TV on loud enough she would decide to move out. One can hope. I'm a mean mother.

Good afternoon ladies,
I am playing catch-up. so this is in reply to yesterday and today.
Ann, You are as warm in your area as we are cool. we had thunderstorms last night and rain today. There is a very cool breeze blowing. And it's supposed to be 48 to 52 (for the high temp) the next couple of days. Your bedroom sounds lovely. Those are beautiful colors that you picked. That is so nice that you have hung onto that chair and can get it redone.
Cindy, I wouldn't call that an essay, but I sure did enjoy it. You made me smile. It was so encouraging. I love your faith in God and you sharing with us. Thank you!!
Patty, I do the same thing (eat what I shouldn't, do not drink enough water, and do not exercise like I should). And I ask myself the same thing. I think it is as Sarah said, We are all human. What are loom slippers? The round loom? Or the long bar-like one?
Judy, I love hearing of your travels and the things that you see. Thank you for sharing them with us. Do you make your Christmas cards too? Or just birthday, etc?
Shar, I am glad you and dh have some answers now. The not knowing and waiting is terrible. I wish you both well in his quest for better health. I know it is achievable, but so difficult sometimes.
Jan, Congrats on maintaining your weight!!! You have done so fantastic!!!! That is alot of weeks in the blue!!
Paulissa, You must really love flowers. I bet your yard is beautiful!! We usually divide our bulbs, lillies, etc in the fall here. Perhaps it has something to do with the location and climate. I am remembering you and your upcoming surgery.
Louise, How are you doing? Hope all is well at your house.
Sarah, Are you enjoying sunshine today? I am "enjoying" clouds and rain!!
I hope I said hello to everybody. If I missed someone, I am sorry.
Hope you have had a wonderful day!!
Good Morning. A gloomy day so far but we are suppose to get up to 80. Sure doesn't feel like it now. Also my hair day.
Jan, I'm also writing down everything that I eat again. Working with the W W Points. It certainly does help to stay on track that way.
Cindy, you sure gave us a good pep talk this morning.
Patty, have you gotten through your box of yarn yet? I'm still knitting hats while the TV is on.
Gypsy, I can imagine quilting is hard to do in the motor home. Knitting or crocheting is probably a lot easier. We use to have a friend who always carried her sewing machine with her on their RV trips. She would sew up a storm mostly making her granddaughters clothes.

Just a quick note to wish you all the best for today and let you know I think of you and you are in my prayers daily. I feel blessed that for now all is well with us, but when you are in the thick of health problems it is a scary and difficult time.
Our grandson has asthma and serious allergies, so he is always on our minds. He's 8 years old now and is good at taking care of himself when away from his Mom, but it's always a worry.
I do card making, crochet, cross stitch and a little quilting.I have to do crafts that don't take up too much room in the motorhome!!
All of you haave a wonderful day. Judy
Good luck Festive Belles
Cindy, you are the early bird
I ditto all that Cindy said. Praying girls.
It's supposed to be cool and rainy here today too. Well, then I will just walk in the house, or do my exercise tape. But I enjoy the walking outside.
Craft wise, I am working on an afghan, a toddler sweater, and loom knitted slippers for my daughter. I am making her 5 pair. That may last 2 years. She goes through at least 3 pair a year, so probably not. So right now, it is the slippers, with a little bit of knitting and crocheted thrown in to make it interesting...
Paulissa, are you still crocheting prayer shawls? Or something else? Probably not, as you don't have much free time, do you. When is your surgery?
Hoping you all have a blessed day.

good morning girls, i am pretty sure i have the day, month, and date correct today!
it has been so pleasant here in virginia this week. nice temps and beautiful leaves to look at. today however, is going to be rainy and cold. one of those nasty fall days. but, the lord knows what we need and rain must be on the list. i agree with you sarah, i don t miss the heat and the humidity either.
louise, how is your hubby and your daughter doing? is it cooling off too much to go for a swim during the day? how are you feeling? you all are in my prayers.
jan, i am so proud of you. great job on the weight lose and not getting upset about not seeing big loses the past few weeks. keep up the good work!
ann, your bedroom sounds like it will be absolutely beautiful when you are done. our bedroom is very dark so i can sleep when it is light outside. everytime i walk into it i would like to do something different but i really can t. i still have my 3 year plan so that will be the first room i redo.
judy, it is so good that you and your daughter have great gems between you. it is such a blessing to have a close relationship with your children. i don t know what i would do without my girls. they are such an encouragement to me and to each other.
paulissa. i have to tell you i just love your name. you are in my prayers for the surgery you will be having. back in 2003 i had the same thing. after the surgery i had a heart to heart talk with my doctor about changing my lifestyle. she was a big encouragement to me. i joined weight-watchers and kept track of everything i put in my mouth-----what made me have reactions or what made my stomach upset and went from there. i found joanna by accident on tv. i ordered some of her books and followed what she had to say and today i feel better than i ever did. it is not going to be easy but with gods help and our prayers you will get through this. remember to trust in the lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. i will be praying for you.
patty, please do not beat yourself up . you and your husband have been through some major stuff and god saw you through it. now all you have to do is settle down and do all those things you know you have to do. we are here for you and we are all praying for you. i am going to be your best cheerleader.
shar, i am so glad you all have found out what the problem is. it will not be easy for your hubby to lose weight but with encouragement and togetherness you can do it. i have you both on the prayer list and before god everyday.
sweet ladies, i wish you all a very blessed day. god is so good!! cindy
ps. i didn t mean to write an essay this morning!
