You are all doing so well with your weight loss!! You should be very pleased with yourselves!!
cindy, I made the buttermilk last night and it turned out wonderful. I tasted it and it has a real good flavor. I experimented. I put some of my homemade buttermilk in one jar of "fresh squeezed" milk and some buttermilk in a jar of cold milk from the fridge. They both turned out well. I get buttermilk when I churn, but it isn't enough. If we drink very much, then i don't have enough to bake with! Thanks for sharing your recipe.
Shar, I am sure you could keep up with me. Sometimes I get disgusted with myself for not getting more done!! You make me feel good about myself though!! I appreciate the compliments!
Well it's about bath and bed time. I am a morning person by nature. So I am getting run down by this time of day!
Cindy, I'm sorry your daughter has been going through divorce. A hard thing to experience. It's good you can be there to support her. Have fun sewing.
Patty, It's good you can get in to see your doctor. I thought when you took BP pills you were supposed to take them regularly? I'm remembering that old Andre Crouch song "I've got confidence God is going to see me through".
I think I've lost 14 lb. since the first week in June. I was walking 6 days a week but I'm not getting in that many since DH's heart attack. We're working on improving that. I probably do 4 - 5 days of walking a week. Slow and steady wins the race eventually!
hello shar and patty, it was a cool 55 here this morning but it is warming up in the 70s very nicely.tomorrow is the gas and steam show plus the tractor pull. i can t wait!i hope the temps aren t real high.
yes, i use buttermilk for anything that calls for milk. things just taste sooooooooo good and light and fluffy. i love making muffins and biscuits using it.
i had to take our oldest daughter to the courthouse this morning to finalize her divorce. glad that is over. she is seeing a really really nice fellow now. if she was to marry him we would be so happy and hopefully so would she.
well girls, i have to run. i have a sewing project i want to start before i go to bed. i have to work again tonight. so, you all have a wonderful day.
Morning girls, It's only 55 here today so far, and sunny. I did turn the furnace on to get the chill out of the air. Then when it gets up to 72, I will turn it off for the day. Funny, how we need that furnace so early, since the summer was so hot and humid.
I have been taking my bp meds since Tuesday. The dr.s office called, and wanted me to come in to see her. I have an appt. on MOnday.
Hubby's appt went fine on Wed. Did I already tell you that? Can't remember when I was last on here. We left and 10 and didn't get back until 5:30. I was one tired girl...lol. We did have errands to do also, so it wasn't just the one trip to the dr.s.
I have used buttermilk, and I think it makes things nice and light and flaky, if making biscuits. I really liked using it, but don't use milk now, as I am allergic to it.
Deb , good job on getting work. Even part time will help.
I too would get tired following you girls around.
Well, at the beginning of summer, we talked about being healthier at the end of summer. How did you all do? I lost 3 pounds, but didn't do so well in the walking department, and my bp is up. So weight loss, good, health, not so good. How did you all do?
I know Jan got lots of mileage in and lots of weight loss. Good job Jan.
Have a good day girls.
I don't take Mom to the store today, as she is having company. A day off. Hubby went to town for yard sales. Me, I am still in my pajamas...lol. I think I will eventually get dressed, but can't promise. I'm snoozy today.
Louise, it's so amazing how each of us is use to our weather. Now 70's to me at night would be very warm. It actually has been in the 40's for the last 2 nights which I love! Cindy, do you use buttermilk in the place of milk in recipes? I haven't had buttermilk in years. But just wondering how you use it in recipes. I will have to give it a try. Glenna, ok, now I know what you meant by tying flies. Gee, is there anything you don't do? I could never follow you around in a day. I would be so tired by noon and need a nap!! I just don't know how you do it. And Cindy you seem just as busy! Ann, hope you are enjoying your time camping. It sounds like you are. Love reading about your traveling. Jan, what are you up to? Patty, I hope you are doing ok. Wish you would check in with us. We do worry when some are missing. Sarah, please let us know about you! We haven't got anything from you in a while. Deb, glad you stopped in to post. At least for now you got a temporary job. This economy just doesn't seem to be getting much better. I hope it will soon. My son who has been laid off for a year well off and on I should say, got a job and to start Mon. It's not what he wanted which is welding, but there is just no one around here building. At least he got something for now. Well ladies, have a good weekend. I will be going to our trailor tonight at the lake. Our little get away! It does seem like I tend to forget all our problems when I am there and I love to just sit and look out over the water. Suppose to rain tomorrow but nice Sunday. Take care all!
