Patty, yes I followed the directions but did use a smaller needle. I knit with a long circular needle going back and forth. Once I got an inch or two knitted it would roll up length wise. Probably the circular needle had something to do with it.
Louise, Fenway Park is something to see, isn't it? My DD, DS and GS took in a game there last year. When I was in high school the Boston Colleges would have a football game band day. Our high school band went to Fenway by bus and all the bands were on the field at half time, all playing the same song. It was so neat even though it was so cold.
Shar, when I eat an ear of corn I always take a knife and cut the last of the kernals on my plate to eat. DH didn't until I told him that was the best part. Tasted just like cream style corn.
My couscous salad was huge by the time I got all the cut up vegetables in it. I think we will be eating it on Thur. night and Fri. night. I bought a mini loaf of wheat French bread that I sliced and toasted.
Good evening everyone, Gosh I have been playing catch up with everyone here. This week has been so hectic. I got two new kids. One is 4 and the other is 1 1/2yrs. Boy do they keep me hopping and I only just have them! They are just very active boys that needs to be doing something constantly. Jan, you are doing a lot of walking! I am glad DH is going with you. My DH and I need to start for sure. He says when the weather cools down. Glenna, reading your post brought back so many memories. As a girl my mother would freeze corn, but we creamed it running the cob over a creamer of some sorts. Oh my, we would do it well into the night. My fingers would be so darn sore. But that corn tasted so good all winter long. But it's very hard work. Sarah, I am a big chicken when it comes to storms. I am so glad we have a basement. I have gone down there many times. DH just laughs at me. He loves storms. Patty, good for you. You are losing the weight. I know it must have felt good to try on those dresses. Our weather has been nice too but they say the humidity returns tomorrow. Louise, you are a busy lady! I hope your DD is enjoying her new job. Ann, you are busy too. Always on the go. Someone mentioned making muffins. They sounded so good. I want to look for a HE pie recipe to try out this weekend as we are having company coming to the lake. I make all my stuff here at home and take it with me as I have a very tiny trailor at the lake and no room to cook much. Well I should get. I want to relax some. After the kids left I had to go to Aldi's then got myself something to eat. And no I did not eat healthy at all so I won't say here I ate! LOL I have the house to myself so I guess I will go see what is on. You have a wonderful evening.

Good Afternoon Everyone! Boy, you all are so busy! Actually I have been busy this morning. I have done laundry but have more to do. I have dishes in the dishwasher right now. I am taking a little break to catch up on my posts on SPARKPEOPLE. Then I will continue doing the laundry and then vaccum. Tomorrow I will dust. I probably should do that also do but I can only do so much and then I have to rest for a while. Well, last night the Christian Support Group I belong to went to a Diamonbacks game (baseball). One of the young ladies who belongs to our group husband works for the Diamonbacks and they were nice enough to get a suite for us. DD could not make it so a friend who has driven up to the Cancer Treatment Center came with me. It was the first time I have ever been in a suite! It was really nice. Also, I got to know the people in the group a little better. It was nice getting to know them outside of planned meetings. The last time I went to a baseball game was back at Fenway Park in Boston to see the Red Sox play!!!! That was well over 30 years ago!!! We all had such a good time. When we got out it was raining--something we really needed here in Arizona. We car pooled with others in the group. We all agreed that we should do more social things together. Maybe they can plan one event that my DH and DD could make it to--like a Saturday event. Since DH and I only have one car and DD has her own car, I don't get out a lot in the summer. So I fully enjoyed being with people. When the weather gets cooler (for Arizona that could mean November!) I will get out walking and walk to stores and other places. I cannot do that right now. Well, everyone, please have a Great Rest of the Day! GOD BLESS! Louise
Patty, yes, the knitting turned out like a hat. Sure curled up a lot as I was knitting it. I can't imagine knitting one for a baby. So tiny.
Jan, it is still warm today. Suppose to cool down in another day or so. The beach goers must be loving it as the past weeks haven't been much of beach weather. The water is colder than usual they say.
Glenna, my DH would think 72 was cold also. He's always cold. Must be nice. I don't want to turn the oven on either. I should make some more breakfast muffins for my self but think I'll just eat Total cereal for the next few days. I can add some Craisins to it.
I'm going to add some cut up vegetables and ham to couscous for supper. I hope I have enough to fill up DH. I need to make a trip to the store for fresh veg. but sure hate to go out in the heat.

I am blanching corn to cut from the cob. I have a big kettle of it on the stove now.
It is cloudy and rainy here today. And blessedly cool compared to what it has been. DH thinks it's cold!! It's 72 degrees or was when I looked earlier. Feels hotter to me now, probably because I'm working in the kitchen.
Sounds like you are all busy with cooking, cleaning, and exercise. I have a pot of great northern beans on the stove cooking. And we have plenty of cucumbers and tomatoes. And corn!! So we are all set for supper.
Jan, that's great that your group meets for support. Support is so important.
Patty, That is wonderful that you can wear both dresses!!!! Not at the same time!! You should be so pleased with yourself. Eat a peach for me!!
Sarah, We have had our share of thumderstorms, too. They can be scary sometimes. Maybe that season will be ending before too much longer.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Sarah, I made the zucchini muffin recipe from Fat Free Vegan. It is really good, no fat, (I did not add the streusel topping) and made it into bread instead of muffins. Very good, very satisfying, low sweetener, bit of honey and brown sugar...yum
I do not envy you that miserable humidity. Hopefully it is gone from here for the rest of the year.
Still summer in Florida! Lots of warmth and a ton of humidity. I hope everyone is staying as cool as possible. Remember to drink your water to stay hydrated.
Jan I don't think the storm did much damage other than give me a few more gray hairs! Scared me from a dead sleep so the thunder had to have been very loud. It is great all the walking you and your DH are doing! How is he feeling?
Patty only one dress at a time!! Those peaches sound good. The ones we are getting down here are really sweet and juicy.
What are y'all up to today? Canning, freezing or trying to stay cool? I still haven't made the zucchini muffins. I am procrastinating up a storm. I just seem to crave cold thing to eat and drink lately.
Hi Jan and girls, It has been such beautiful weather here this week. I love it, the humidity is down, the temps are mid 70's. What could be better...
Went to lunch at senior center. Posted on my blog. no new pics though, just words.
I am wearing 2 dresses that I havent' been able to wear in 3 years. Well, not both at the same time, but you get what I mean right? That makes me feel good to be able to wear these.
Going to walk later. a simple day. Hubby bought 1/2 a bushel of peaches, for me to freeze, so need to start on those.
I cleaned the floors yesterday. Should do something cleaning-wise today, but not sure what. Have a couple of loads of laundry to do, change the bedding, etc.
It is so nice to be able to have the windows open again. But, I had forgotten how noisy it is, as we live on a main road. Much noisier with them open, than when they are closed, and the air is on. I still prefer them open. Love the breeze.
Jan, how is your hubby doing?
Sure wish that I could meet Heather when she comes to this area. Oh, wouldn't that be nice...
There is no TOPS meeting today because the church we meet at is having Vacation Bible School. Those of us who are able are going to meet for lunch to keep up the support. So far it looks like we have 10-12.
Yesterday I walked with my TOPS friends in the morning and with DH in the afternoon. It feels good to be able to walk outside and enjoy the scenery.
I bumped into a newsletter and I'm planning on making a chicken chili from the 12/08 newsletter.
Patty, you and your hubby are in my prayers.
Sarah, I hope that storm didn't cause any harm.
Ann, Did the heat wave leave you? We were 90 a couple of days but then the fog and cooler weather rolled back in.
