Good Morning. I hope everyone had a wonderful week end. It was quite warm and humid here and we did have a shower yesterday. Probably the tail end of the storm that hit Chicago and Michigan.
We are packed and ready to head south. The septic man is due any minute and if he doesn't show up we'll leave anyway. If we leave by noon as planned we should get the the tip of N.J. N.Y. and Pa. where we've stayed in the camp ground before. Super Walmart near by that I can do a little grocery shopping.
We think we should be in N. C. by Sunday night or Monday morning. DS had a last minute request for us to bring him two gallons of maple syrup. There is a farm close by that makes it. DH about flipped when he saw the price. $62.00 a gallon. We are so use to lite and sugar free syrup that the real maple syrup seems too sweet to us. This year the maple farm said their crop was less than 1/2 the usual gallons of syrup they normally get from their trees. I remember my grandmother had a huge maple tree in front of the house and for years she would not let us tap it. When she did I would have to go home at lunch time and empty the jars. It does take a lot of sap to make even a quart of syrup.
Several neighbors stopped by last night to say good by. We're met people that I don't even think my mother knew.
