Deb, You have been having a very rough time. I am so
happy that you have Muffy. She sounds adorable! I love cats! Muffy sounds very loving. Have a great time with her! She sounds like a wonderful companion. I am still praying that you find a job soon.
You have sure had a time of it. Glad you have a new furbaby to love and to love you.
Ann, I know the bridge you're talking about. When I took the Mexican cruise with JoAnna we had a city tout and one stop was the hotel - it's beautiful and full of history.
I've had a rough few months, no job, no furbaby and lousy weather. Well, 2 weeks ago I got a new roomie. Muffy is an 11 y/o black and white persian cat. She had a rough time too. Her person passed and a neighbor took her in, but the kids turned out to be allergic, so she was taken to the shelter. While this was going on her long fur became matted and needed to be shaved. So, the rest is history. We're getting along great, only problem is she was 'ttenion when I'm on the 'puter. She sits on my right arm and I type with my left = a little awkward for applying for jobs. My mood and outlook has improved over the last two weeks.

Good Afternoon ladies. I have just a few minutes before we leave to go to GS baseball game. We should beable to get back to the camp ground just in time for supper. Tonight we all bring our own meat to grill and the hosts finish the rest of the meal. I have a big chicken breast for DH and I.
I'm glad to hear Louise you are happy with Sabrina's new Dr. And Patty good to hear your DH is eating again and enjoying it. I hate mending. Avoid it as much as I can. Glenna, you sure keep busy with the canning and garden. I sure hope you ladies don't lose your fruit to the cold spell you had.
Yesterday DH and I took back the 'extra' pair of shoes I got in my order from Penney's. Made a stop at Office Depot too. Then we drove south almost to the Mexican border and went out on the peninsula to the upscale community of Coronado. This is where the movie Some Like It Hot with Tony Curtis and Marilyn Monroe was filmed at the Hotel Del Coronado. There is a big Naval Air Station there too. We came back over the high bridge. I was the passanger as I don't like to drive over long high bridges. I told DH to keep his eyes straight ahead. The view down on the bay is really something to see the Navy ships in the harbor and the down town area. We made a stop at the Navy commissary to get a few groceries for the trip. This saves me a trip the Marine base commissary that is closer to home on Monday.
We got back to camp just in time for supper. The hosts had fixed chicken enchiladas and salad for supper. The gal fixing them claims she can't cook. She is the house salad maker and her DH grils. I keep telling her she really is a cook but she denies it. She says we have seen her limit.
Gotta get ready for baseball. We will miss the playoff and All Star games.

Good Saturday Morning Patty, Glenna and all who will follow! Patty, I am so glad your DH is gaining weight. Sounds like he is doing better. I still will be praying for him. I still am praying for you and your DD. Glenna, you sound so busy! I wish we could have a garden. However, we live in a townhome with no land. Besides that the ground here in Arizona is very hard. I know there are lots of farms and a lot of people have gardens but I don't know how they do it. Yesterday DD went to a new doctor and I went with her to take notes. We were both impressed with the new doctor. She came in smiling and introduced herself to both of us. She listed very carefully to Sabrina and asked Sabrina a lot of questions. She said she did think it is IBS but she did not tell Sabrina she would have to figure it out on her own. The doctor told DD things that would help. However, she was not totally convinced it is only IBS. She thinks there are other things going on. She told DD things to do and that she wants to see her on June 4th again. Then she is going to look over all DD's medical records when she gets them and then order more tests. She is
Indian and was stressing positive attitude. Actually having a positive attitude is not a bad things. She does want DD to exercise daily. She also mentioned meditation and yoga. However, DD said to me when we left that she will meditate on the Bible and Bible verses. We are not sure about yoga but I so know a lot of churches in our area have what they call Holy Yoga--it is a Christian version. We will check it out and pray about it. However, we were very impressed and happy with the doctor. Infact, I made an appointment to see her myself. The Cancer Treatment Center wanted me to have a MD besides my Naturopathic Doctor. The new doctor takes our insurance which the Naturopathic Doctor does not and honestly I cannot afford to go to the Naturopathic Doctor anymore. We Thanked the LORD for this new doctor after we left her office. I called my friend right away and thanked her for recommending this doctor. So we are finally getting answers. The doctor knows the gas doctor who has helped Sabrina and she is going to work with him on other tests to give DD. Now if only I can get DH to go to the doctor's for a check up. He has not been to a doctor in years! Well, this morning I danced to my CD's for an hour. A little later I am going swimming. I never did get a chance to go yesterday.
Then I am going to a Lunch Buffet Party for a friend who just got her RN. I am not going to eat there as it is at a Thai resturant which cooks with a lot fish and I am extremely allergic to most fish. I cannot take the chance that meats were cooked on the same grill as fish. I do want to go and Congratulate
her. Well, everyone, please have a Wonderful Saturday!
Good morning Patty and all, It is a beautiful, sunshinny day in WV. So I plan on catching up with
laundry today. I usually change towels, sheets, etc. every Sat. It is also my day to clean bird cages. Yuck!! Seeds and feathers everywhere!!
I made rhubarb preserves yesterday. I use rhubarb, pineapple, sugar, and strawberry jello. Makes a tasty spread. I put some in my yogurt this am. It was really, really good.
I am glad everyone is doing better and getting good reports from tests, drs, etc.
Our garden is growing, but slowly so far. We can plant corn, beans, etc. soon. We shouldn't have a frost.
I can't tell about all of our fruit trees yet, if the frost/freeze damages them or not. The one peach tree still has lots on it. Some of the pears have blackened and dropped. So I guess time will tell.
Hope everyone has a wonderful, blessed day.
Looks like I am the early bird getting the worm. tent worms in fact...lol
Louise, such good news on cancer free. Praise God. He is so good.
I have been having a hard time getting anything done this week. Think the last few months took a toll on me.
DD is still depressed, though not as bad as she was. She spent the night Thursday with us...she even laughed some, at me of course.
Then yesterday, I took her home, then went to lunch at senior center. Took Mom from there,(she rides the bus to senior center to save me 16 miles) we went to the store to shop and see her cousins.
They are 80 and 84. One of these days, I will be picking all of them up to take to the store, once they can't drive anymore...that will be quite a trip.
In the afternoon, hubby mowed, and got most of it done. He is gaining some weight. On a low dose steroid for the cortizol, so he may continue to gain some.
Anyway, he says, lets go to town and go out to dinner. We have heard about this restaurant, that it is so good. So we went. We were unimpressed, especially for the money. We prefer Ponderosa or Fazolis. Better food and less money.
Yesterday I did sweeping and mopping on the main floor, today I want to finish that on the other floors. Then mend 4 pair of hubbys pants. He is hard on pants...lol
Have a blessed day.
