Louise,
Glad that Sabrina does not have cancer, but man, now you have to start over and try to find out what is wrong with her...I imagine that you are all a little frustrated.
Please let us know what the dr. says today about you.
How stressful this may be for you.
Praying better days ahead for your family.

Those Miss Marple movies are based on books that were written by Agatha Christie. You can check them out at your local library. She also wrote books featuring Hercule Poirot, and others. But Miss Marple and Hercule Poirot were her most famous, at least for me.
I prefered the slimmer Miss Marple, rather than the more robust one. But the movies are very good. I would watch them all again if they were on.
The Hercule Poirot movies are very good too.
Patty

Louise, The movie we watched starred Margaret Rutherford (British actress) based on Agatha Christie's Miss Marple character. Miss Marple was an elderly lady who lived in an English village and solved murders. I think Rutherford did about 3 of these movies (Murder Most Foul was one) and they have a definite comic edge. Also PBS did a series from BBC in the 1990s with Judith Hixon (sp?) as Miss Marple - that series was wonderful. There was a later PBS series (in the 2000s) that I don't recommend. They changed the stories to what is offensive to me and the dear Miss Marple character just doesn't have the charm that Judith Hixon had.
I'm sorry you didn't get a diagnosis for your daughter. I hope the next test will give something more definite.

Good Evening Everyone! Jan, Sounded like you had a nice relaxing day. I never saw a Miss Marple movie.
Is it anything like Murder She Wrote? I loved that TV series and I have a lot of DVD's of various seasons of it. Paulissa, I am so glad you are back!
I have been wondering about you. You are busy as ever! About the extra weight, it sound like you have a good plan of exercising. Maybe we can do an exercise challenge here on this Team. I know that would help me.Today I did dance for 90 minutes to my CD's. However, I have to start using my DVD's. Now that the weather is getting warmer, I will be going swimming. I really have to get this weight off! I will know about the PET SCAN tomorrow as I go back up to the Cancer Treatment Center tomorrow and see all the doctors involved and the whole mind and body person, the nutrionist and the care co-ordinator. I will get the results tomorrow. I have to go to bed now as I have to get up early for the drive tomorrow.
I will write more tomorrow. Oh, before I forget the doctor called Sabrina and everything came back good.
So we are back to square one to find out what is going on. The doctor told her there was another test
he wants to give her. I guess he will go back to set it up. I am glad it was not Cancer but I was really praying that something would show up.
GOD BLESS!
Louise

Paulissa, It's good to hear from you and I hope we can encourage you on with your weight loss goals.

Patty, I think the caterpillar worms are what we used to call tent caterpillars. I remember Dad battling them in some of the trees. They look icky and crawly - not like the wooly bears.

Ann, Fiddlehead ferns can be found out in the woods- it's the tender, young curls of that fern- so they look like spirals. I bought some at Sunday Market but my sons have been showing me where they are along trails. That sounds like a good suggestion for a book on estates.

We took a walk on a new (to us) trail today and it was great. It's paved but away from all traffic and motor vehicles. Some of the things we saw were salmonberries, cow parsnips (which look really interesting right before they bloom), red wing blackbirds, eagles, a huge eagles nest in the top of a tree, and many other birds. I'm looking forward to going back with a picnic lunch. It ends up by the river with a great view. There are some benches. This is close to where my TOPS group meets so it would be fun to go with a sack lunch after the meeting.

This was day two of eating right and getting some exercise.

Ann, I really want to work in federal mediation and public policy law. A great deal of the things I've been doing involve the political process so I may be led into the political arena. We'll see but I believe I will somehow end up influencing public policy.

Good evening to all, I just read the posts and got caught up.

Jan, I was going to ask you about the fiddlehead ferns. They grow wild here. I know what they are and have heard of people eating them. But I have never tried them. I eat milkweed and poke greens. I believe with the fiddleheads you are supposed to get them before they uncurl and be sure to wash all the fuzzies off. Is that right? then what do you do to them? I assume parboil a couple of times and then cook.

It was rainy here earlier. Then cleared off this afternoon.

We went to the greenhouse and got cabbage, brussel's sprouts, cauliflower, celery, and hanover plants and put out in the garden. Got tomatoes, peppers, and eggplant, but it will go in later after the frosts are over.

Hope everyone had a great day.

Oh, by the way, Jan. I was at the library today and checked out a copy of "thin within". So I have a new book to concentrate on!!

Hugs to all,
Glenna

Good Afternoon all, I woke up at 4 a.m. and did not go back to sleep so got up and read a book I had ordered that came in yesterdays mail. I finished reading it by 8 a.m. I had read about this book in some magazine and have heard about in other publications as a must read for settling a parents estate. It is very very informative and I would recommend it to siblings that have to assist a parent who is unable to care for themselves as well as settling their estate after they are gone. The Boomer Burden, Dealing with your Parents Lifetime Accumulation of Stuff by Julie Hall The Estate Lady. I ordered it from my favorite used book web site. abebooks.com. Just under $6.00 included shipping and this copy is brand new.

Jan, I think the therapy sessions are helping. They would help more if I was a bit more faithfull with my arm exercises. I don't like the one where you creep up the wall. I have one this afternoon. She will push, pull and have me do the same and then I get the ice treatment. What are fiddlehead ferns? Never heard of them, much less eating them.

Paulissa, you are a very busy lady. What do you want to do when all your classes are finished. My GD is a sheriff in Sarasota Fl. Last month they sent her to hostage negociation school. She is almost 30 now but when she was 20 she worked vice and narcotics in Clearwater, Fl. You know mom and dad slept well at night.

Patty, I never heard of tent worms either but sure don't want any. I know you must be feeling better.

Louise, I hopw your tests went very well yesterday.

Off to therapy.

HI Jan, Paulissa and girls,
brrr, it's cold and rainy and windy here today. The house is covered with tent worms...gross...

Paulissa, good to have you back. We have a goal to be thinner at the end of summer than we are now, even if it's only a couple of pounds.

Jan, good to have a lazy day.

We went to town today. hubby had 2 appt. He will need another eye appt. in 3 months to see if the tumor is growing and effecting his eyesight. We shall see.

My bladder infection should be gone by tomorrow. yay

I turned the furnace up to 71 when we got home today. It is cold and damp outside and seemed to come inside with us...

Have a great day girls.

Louise, how did your test go?

Good afternoon Jan,

It is cold and rainy here and 45 degrees. It sure doesn't feel like summer.

Well, I'm crawling back on the wagon and am embarrassed to say 15 lbs heavier. I really wish I understood why I fall off the wagon for months at a time. It is as though subconsciously I don't think I'm worth it but my bp and cholesterol levels would suggest otherwise. So I've retrieved the Leslie DVDs and gotten a Y membership because this excess poundage WILL kill me if I don't get a handle on it.

What else is going on with me? Well, let's see:

The quarter ends for me in 2 weeks and then I will have 3 weeks off before I begin Criminal Law & Procedure. I meet with the mayor, the school board, the mass transit officials, and others next Tuesday to propose a school age bus pass system that should have a significant effect on truancy levels. I begin juvenile mediation and restorative justice for non-violent juvenile offenders that day as well. And I am in the process of establishing a non-profit mentoring problem that will provide values education, conflict resolution and critical reasoning training to at-risk youth, starting with 2nd grade. My city has had 15 murders due to gun/gang violence this year, the last one occured right in front of me. I cannot sit on the sidelines.

Hello all,

Our youngest son is still here today so we are having a lazy morning. Oatmeal for breakfast and now we're watching an old Miss Marple movie. I want to check the back yard to see if the delft blue iris has opened up today.

I'm glad to report I've planned my meals today (here on Sparkpeople nutrition area). I've also planned another walk - rain or shine. It's still cloudy and overcast here but I see a peek of blue sky.

How is your day going?
