Good Late Afternoon or Early Evening! Jan, the centerpieces sounded beautiful! Lilacs are my favorite flower. I cannot have frest flowers anymore in our home because of my DD and my asthma. However, I still love flowers. Yesterday we went to a wedding. The bride was beautiful. Her dress was just right for her--simple but elquent (spelled wrong). It was a nice wedding. They had said it was going to be a cake reception but even though they did not have a sit down meal they had other food. There had fruit, olives, cheeses, crackers, sliced meat and fresh veggies. So no one went hungry. We had a great time. My DH, DD and I went. The girl who my DD was her maid-of-honor came and sat with us. Her husband went to a baseball game. He did ask her if she wanted him to go but he is a real baseball fan and she knew the game was important to him and that the wedding of our friend was important to her. He would have come to the wedding if she really wanted him to and would not be upset about it. Anyway, the wedding was really nice and we saw people we have not seen in a while. It was held at the church which has the school DD and I used to work at. I found out that the lady they kept teaching instead of me quit. The funny thing I thought it would have bothered me but I am glad I am not teaching any more. I loved and still love the children but at 61 years of age I think I can do other things than teach two year olds. Then after the wedding my daughter's friend (she is "our second daughter"--they have known each other for 21 years) came over our house and visited. Then we all went out for supper. We had a great time. However, today I slept late and missed church. DD went to church but we over slept! So today was kind of a lazy day but I think both DH and I needed that. Well, everyone, please have a GREAT REST OF SUNDAY! GOD BLESS! Louise

When I write that date and realize we are in the last week of April I am amazed. Where did it go?!
Yesterday afternoon DH & I went down to the church with another couple to set up for a potluck today. DH climbed on the ladder and cut scads of lilacs which we put in bud vases and larger vases on each of the tables (yellow or lilac or purple table covers). Then we went in early this morning to arrange put the flowers in the vases and turn on the warming ovens, etc. It was right after the morning service and looked like everyone had a good time visiting at their tables. I gave away the lilacs and only had empty dishes to bring home. I brought a large salad of various lettuces, tomatoes and cucumber and some turkey wraps. It was so nice and relaxed having plenty of helping hands.
Came home and took a nap and now I'm thinking of weeding/cleaning up the flowerbed on the short walkway from our driveway to the house.
