Hi, Patty and all to follow. I was up and out early to take DH to pick up motor home at the shop where the generator was repaired. On my way home I stopped at WalMart for some small flowers in pots to put in a basket. I think I mentioned it before. All the RV chapters that will be in Tucson for the rally next week will donate a basket. Tickets will be sold and the money will go to the Make a Wish Foundation. That is our charity of choice and we always do very well with the giving. I have the pot of flowers in a pot with a sign that say $50.00 Gift Card at Wal Mart. I'd rather win that than a basket of wine with stale crackers and cheese. That is what a lot of people give. They put a box for tickets by each basket so you have a chance to win something you would really like.
Patty, 7 weeks of eye drops sure sounds like a long time. I don't remember how long I had to take them. Many people don't have to wear glasses after cataract surgury but I wasn't one of those lucky ones. My DH got some new glasses last week. He was glad he doesn't have to use a magnifing glass to read the comics in the paper any more.
Stephanie, I have never heard of an oyster roast before. I always have liked oyster stew but generally don't eat the oysters. Years ago when we were stationed in Memphis, fried oysters were popular and I like them.
Yesterday I made JoAnna's Potato Soup from the Grandma's Comfort food cook book. DH and I didn't really care for it. Maybe the changes I made killed it. I made my own evap. milk using Jo's recipe. I prefer that to the canned. It was a little watery so at the end I added a few tablespoons of Instant Potato Flakes to thicken it up. I also added about 1/2 cup of frozen corn. That shouldn't have made any difference. DH and I agreed that the crockpot Vegetable Corn Chowder recipe I make is much better. Probably more calories too.
I heard good news on the radio this morning. People over 70 that are over weight live longer. Not isn't that wonderful?

It up to 12 today. That wood stove is sure crankin' out the heat again today.
Lunch at the senior center. Mom will ride the bus over there, then after lunch, I will take her to the store for coffee and split a donut, shopping, then take her home and visit for a bit.
Hubby is through with eye drops. yay. That was 7 weeks of drops. whew...once it got to twice a day instead of 4 times a day, it was much easier. He had his appt. yesterday, and was fitted for glasses. Not sure if he needs pres. in the top part, but definately needs magnifying in the bottom part. So once those come, we will be all set with his eyes.
Actually it was fairly simple for the surgeries. Not much pain at all, and the dr. said all is well.
My grandson, Josh, is still sore from the appendectomy. Sometimes it lasts a long time. Still walks all hunched over, like a little old man...poor little guy. But looks like the infection is gone, as no fever for a while, and off antibiotics. He will heal. His Daddy still has some trouble with his.
Lets see. I have posted a couple of times on my blog. Come on over and visit. I am trying to finish a hat. Have been very neglectful of knitting this week. Still on the same hat.
Have a super blessed day girls. I will come back later and check in and see what you are all up to.
