Another day flown by. I got up early enough to see the sunrise again (not too hard with these short days) but had to go to the store for ingredients for a strawberry cake I'm making for the TOPS party on Saturday. We bumped into our son at the store so he rode home with us.
A nice young woman came over to pick up a night stand she requested on Freecycle. I had all this stuff boxed up for the thrift store so I asked her if she wanted any of it and she did but she kept saying her DH would have a fit if she brought too much home. DH brought the rest to the thrift store.
My son says he is feeling better from the diverticulitis but he knows he has to remain careful about what he eats. I guess it's really painful.
DH & I watched two versions of Dickens Christmas Carol and now the big Oregon civil war football game is on (Oregon State vs. U of Oregon). I try to watch a bit with DH but my mind wanders and I can think of ten million more interesting things to do.
Louise, it's interesting how jobs/lay-offs happen like that and no one knows where you went. It's nice to know the memory of your being a good teacher is still there. I'm glad the chiropractor was able to help your daughter.
Patty, What beautiful flowers on your page! And the fingerless mitts are so cute.
Hi Louise, and all, I had a lazy day. Didn't do much at all. Didn't even go to lunch at the senior center. But I did manage to finish my fingerless mitts. These are for myself, and I love them. I had fun with the embroidery and choosing the buttons. They are on my blog, if you want to see.
Made bean soup in the crock pot for supper. yum, so good. Made a ww pasta, tomato, corn casserole for lunch.
Hubby is busy working downstairs on the room. Staining trim.
Where is everyone? How is everyone doing? I am kind of tired now. I took my daughter to work as she still cannot drive yet. Then when I went to pick her up she told me she had to direct the 4 year olds in music. Their teacher made arrangements with the Seniors at the Church to see at their Senior Luncheon. I was invited to go in and watch. Then a lot of people I knew (because I worked there for about 10 years) came up and asked how my class was going this year. I told them I was laid off or going to be laid off the end of July and I quit the second week of July. They did not know that. One lady kept saying "But you are their best teacher!" She was all upset that I was not working at the school anymore. She used to do library there and before that when they had a grade school, she taught the first grade. So we had become very friendly. It was nice seeing the people but I did not realize they did not know I was not working at the school anymore. My daughter had called the chiropractor/physical therapist because she had a lot of pain. So he called her and wanted to see her. He adjusted her and had her do her streches. The pain did go away. She goes back Saturday so he can see how she is doing. He came over to me and Thanked me for bringing her and told me what was going on. I think she is getting better but it is a slow process and like all of us, she wants to feel better NOW! Then we had to go grocery shopping. Now I am very tired. I still have to exercise. Well, everyone, please have a GREAT REST OF THURSDAY! GOD BLESS! Louise
