I finally got through to Gina on the 563-659-8234 phone number last Thursday. I told her I was calling to place an order and she told me she was no longer taking credit card orders. I didn't place a check order because she isn't saving items and if something I wanted was out when my check arrived I knew there would be too much confusion.
When I called Gina was not very talkative and was rushing through the call. I got the feeling if she had any idea it was someone trying to order she wouldn't have answered. That's just the feeling I took away from the call.
I hope ya'll get the things you have paid for already.
Heather, you never got the written notice that the newsletter would no longer be published? Do you have a fax? I could fax it to you tomorrow. If not, e-mail me your mailing address, and I'll send you a copy. (Do you still have my e-mail address? If not, I have yours, so I'll e-mail you.)
In the meantime, let me quote one paragraph from the notice Gina sent out:
"... If you have recently renewed your newsletter and are not going to get your full year, we will credit you with either books or flyers to make it balance out. We are sorry there will be no cash refunds. You can call us at 563-659-8234 if you want to use your credit."
I don't know how Gina can declare (legally) that "there will be no cash refunds" when she's the one not following through with what people paid for (the newsletter). But I was willing to accept some recipe flyers instead of the cash refund, just to simplify things.
I haven't received anything from her yet, and after finding that her 800 number is disconnected, I'm a little concerned. That's why I was curious whether anyone else requested books or flyers and whether you've received them yet.
I'll give it another week, then I guess I'll have to take it up with my credit card company.
In the notification we received about the Healthy Exchanges Newsletter closing down, Gina invited everyone who didn't get their full year's subscription to call her to order merchandise in place of a cash refund. Did anyone do that and receive their merchandise yet?
I had just paid for my year's renewal less than a month before this happened and, needless to say, won't receive one single issue from that year. I called Gina, who told me that under the circumstances, she would credit me a full refund, but I went ahead and ordered some recipe flyers in lieu of the refund.
I haven't received the flyers yet, and the HE 800 number is disconnected.
I'm just curious if anyone else ordered books or flyers and received them yet.
