Louise, I'm sorry you had such trouble related to the colonoscopy. I guess some of those gastro problems can be related. I hope this is resolved and you are feeling better soon. Also sorry to hear about your daughter's health problem. Prayers said for both of you.
Ann, That was funny how your DH gets out of going to the door on Halloween. I'm sorry you're shoulder is still painful.
We have had two trick or treaters and they were the children across the street. It's almost 8:30 so the porch light is going off soon. That hasn't stopped some of the older kids - but still we don't get too many.
I made chicken soup for dinner again. DS#2 came down this morning. They went out mushroom hunting - tramped all over the woods and hills and came home tired and hungry. I also made Apple Spice Cake which we all love.
I've already started turning back the clocks (the ones that don't do that for themselves) and turning the calendars.

Louise, you won't be the only one keeping the lights off tonight. Some years we have not had any trick or treaters and then one year there will be a few. DH won't go to the door for them, he says he scares the little ones. Good excuse. I'm sure he wants to watch the ball game tonight. My shoulder is still bothering me and takes me forever to get out of a chair so the lights will be out. No left over to eat either.
Last night we took DD out for a birthday dinner at Red Lobster. The restaurant was busy but didn't have the line of people waiting for tables. They even seated us long before DS and GS arrived. GS will have a birthday next week. He will be 11 and getting to look like his older 1/2 brother more and more every year. I'm sure he will be a lot taller and I hope more studious.

Good Morning Deb and Jan and all who will follow!
Deb, I totally agree with you. Even though I love
Christmas, I love Thanksgiving! Of course, I probably do because when we lived in Massachusetts we lived in the town next to Plymouth, Massachusetts.
Every year Plymouth had a big Pilgrim Parade and afterwards for the people who wanted to they had Thanksgiving Dinner at Plimouth Plantation and also at the Town Memorial Building. We never went to either because we had big families that got together.
I am an only child but I have tons and tons of cousins. Sometimes my mother's family and my father's family got together on Thanksgiving and Christmas. That was interesting! Well, even though it is 9:50a.m. here in Arizona, I am going to go to bed. I spent last night in the emergency room. I had the colonoscopy on Tuesday with a very bad side effect the night of the prep. The colonoscopy went well--two polups removed but the doctor does not think they are cancerous. He also found that I had
Diverticulosis but at first he was not too concern. Well, that was what happened last night, I had a bad
attack. The ER doctor called the doctor at the Cancer Treatment Center and told him what they found after I had a CAT SCAN. I have to call the doctor at the Treatment Center Monday to see if he wants to see me or what to do. They gave me two medications to take in the mean time. So in a little while, I am going to get the much needed sleep. My husband was up with me (he took me to the ER) but he is all ready sleeping. We live in a Townhome Complex and I know we do get Trick or Treaters but this will be the first Halloween we will be home so I am not sure how many. We might just turn off the lights and not do it. I am not sure. I guess it depends on how we feel. My daughter is having health problems also. She has cysts on both sides of her ovaries and they are really bothering her. She see a new doctor on Wednesday and our Naturopathic doctor is also working with her. Well, sleep is crying out!
HAVE A VERY WONDERFUL SATURDAY!
It is overcast and foggy this morning. There's possible rain in the forecast but I also hope that holds off.
Our town has downtown trick or treating and various Halloween activities for children so we don't get many. I hope the 3 neighborhood children stop by and I hope the big kids who don't live anywhere near here don't stop by.
I made chicken soup last night - which is really easy to put together once you have the chicken and broth cooked. Maybe chicken & bean burritos tonight.
I made my first attempt at making cards for my husband and two sons for Halloween. It was fun but I have a lot to learn. A friend loaned me a book about card-making that will help.

Happy Halloween everyone. It's a grey and windy day here in SE MI. Hopefully the showers will either be over with or hold off until all the little ones are tucked back into their beds. Living in a condo we don't have any trick or treaters.
I've been busy this week. I attended a Coder's meeting on Wednesday evening, the topic was "Injuries and Illness on the Space Station". The speaker was a trauma surgeon who has been on 3 missions and how they handle these problems. It was surprising to see how the space program has improved medical care. And yes he did touch on the bathroom subject in weightlessness - you have to wait for the green light indicating you have a good seal before you go.
I took my 85 y/o cousin to Target on Thursday. I have a feeling that the candy canes and ribbon candy will probably be on the shelves either tonight or tomorrow. The trees, lights and wrapping paper were out. I want my turkey first, watch the parades, then they can put that stuff out.
How all is well with everyone and take care.
