Some how I missed all the colon talk! hahaha
I've had a lot of them, since I was 14. Now a days they are pretty easy because they put you in twilight. (my first one was in the drs office, with nothing! I almost passed out when he cut out the polyps! No pain meds, no relaxers, not even a asprin! It was painful, and the dr kept yelling at me to relax.......that it was hard to get the camera up there with me not relaxing! Uh yeah!) Any way, when it was time for the second one, I said no way was I going to do that again. And he said I had to. So....I asked to see a GI specialist. And he said they should never be done in the office, by your md, they should be done in a hospital with you in twilight. After that it was so much better! I remember being so upset, when the GI specialist said I had to have one too. And I almost started crying. (I was 14) I said, I just can't take that kind of pain again. And he asked me what I was talking about, and when I told him how my MD had done the first one, he said he never does them that way. And that it wasn't good for the patient or the dr!
Any way after that no problems having them. A bit of gas for a day or so. And a little loopy the first day from the twilight. (I couldn't even work a coffee maker! hahaha I forgot how! hahaha) But, other then that....no pain and didn't remember anything!

Patty, I'm glad you found 6 good tops. I went to a Salvation Army store on Saturday but my friend didn't like it so I didn't get to look around like I wanted to. I did find my husband a really good quality pair of shorts for $2.15. Things weren't sorted by size so when I go again I'll take the time to look things over.
Louise, I can't think of anything worse than prepping for a colonoscopy and drinking all the water and then having someone else driving you (not family) - that would make me real nervous! Lol. I haven't had a colonoscopy either.
Heather, it's good to hear from you and I hope you are soon on the mend. We are getting both a Super WalMart and a Good Will store here-probably next year.

oh ps I've just been busy and not feeling well, but hopefully it will pass soon.
They do have plus sizes but I have a feeling they run small. I don't know what size you are looking for but CJ banks, has a lot of denim skirts. I was able to get one on clearance for 6 dollars!
Any way...as far as goodwill, thankfully I can still usually find denim skirts with out a problem.
BUT, I swear either people are stealing the good stuff (employees or other), or since they went to being a ebay store (goodwill now has a ebay store), they are putting all the good stuff there I think.
I haven't figured out which-if it's being stolen or going to ebay.
But, I swear there is not nearly as good of stuff nor as good of prices as I used to get. It's kind of depressing when I go now! In fact last time I was there, they wanted more money for used musty books then I have been paying for the same ones new! So I don't know what's up with them! It's been real hit and miss like you said. Sad as they used to be my favorite shop to go to! My mom said DAV is getting better, so I may have to start seeking more of them out.
Wow, lots of action since I was gone. Thats a goodly thing. Well, as I shop at Goodwill, its "hit or miss" on what I cam find. But today I was able to find 6 long sleeved knit tops. I am so pleased. That will keep me nice and toasty...No jumpers to be found. I want denim, as that will be nice and heavy and warm, and as I am dresses only, I need warm material. But I am so happy about the knit tops.
Louise, I have never had a colonoscopy either. I eat lots of whole grains, so I guess I think that takes care of it...yikes. I am 62. So glad the cost of the car repair will not be very much. We need exhaust systems on both our van and our truck, and no they are not the same year, van is a 1999, truck is a 2001 or 2002. Can't remember. So they are both old, but paid for, and not costing us a monthly payment, except when they need repairs.
Heather, you have not been very talky lately. Is all ok? I will have to check out that Vermont catalogue. Maybe they will have plus size jumpers. I don't think I will find any at Goodwill. So many people go there now, it is so crowded.
Patty I use to love a wood burning stove. The smell is so homey and the crackling of the fire just begs me to snuggle into a comfy chair for a nap. Oh what fun to go clothes shopping. I think I saw some turtleneck tops like you are talking about at the Vermont Store online. At least I think that is where I saw them or maybe LL Bean LOL I'm not sure but hopefully you will find them without needing to order them.
Hi Jan! I know you must b be tickled to get your living room back in order. It is silly but if things are out of where they should be I get really anxious feeling until I get it back. LOL We are needing some of your rain. It is clouding up like it wants to rain so we will see. I would love to see your trunk. What a treasure! I love previously loved items. I think that is why I'm so crazy about yard sales.
Louise I'm sorry your plans didn't work out. Hopefully the car repairs will go well and you will be back on the road soon. Car troubles are so worrisome. How is your friend Suzie doing?
I wonder how Anne is doing? I hope she is enjoying the trip and seeing loads of interesting places.
Heather I haven't seen you in a day or so...everything with Willow ok?
I am in the middle of a stomach virus UGH My maillady was sick with it Friday and I got sick Sunday. Wouldn't you know I'm out of Immodium! ACK! Isn't that always how it goes?! When my shopper comes in November I bet I buy some! LOL
Hope it is a great day for all!

Jan, Believe me I am so happy I did not take the prep stuff either. That is one reason we were going to stay up at the Caner Treatment Center so I could take it when I was suppose to and then be near a bathroom. I know people are suppose to have a colonoscopy when they are 50 but I am 60 years old and this will be my first one. I had been putting it off but not anymore. That is why I felt so bad that I had to cancel at the last minute because the doctor knew I had been putting it off but they realized that it was not my fault. They are so very understanding there at the Cancer Treatment center. My daughter just called me and told me that my husband and my care would be around $207.00 which is not bad at all. We thought it would be much, much, much higher. Actually, hers will be less but she pays for that herself because it is her car. She was going to help us out if it was higher for our car. Nice daughter! She still lives with us even though she is an adult. We don't care because she has her own life. She would like to get her own apartment but she goes nights to college and she is paying for her own education. So for now it works out for everyone. Well, again, everyone, please have a Great Day! GOD BLESS! Louise

Good Morning Patty, Jan and all who will follow. Well, I was suppose to be up at The Cancer Treatment Center yesterday, today and tomorrow. Today I was suppose to have a colonoscopy. All that could go wrong yesterday did--not with me or my family but with both of our cars! Anyway, both cars were out of commission and my daughter and I did not want to be stuck up at the Center without a car (they would have came after us). However, them coming after us would not have worked because I was drinking liquids and they go the freeway but we were going to go the main roads so if we had to stop at a resturant or some where I could use a bathroom, we could. Anyway, it is a good thing I did not start drinking that lovely stuff! So I am going up the last Monday in October and having the colonoscopy that Tuesday and will come home on that Wednesday. I felt horrible calling them at the last minute but they assured me it happens all the time and not to worry. So now my husband and daughter are at the garage with both cars. My husband and I have one and Sabrina owns the other car. It was so strange that both of them went out of commisiion at the same time but then again they are both the same year and the same model cars! I guess the old saying "When it rain, it pours!" is right! Anyway, I was a little nervous about the procedure but now I think I will be completely calm when I have it. I had a few questions about it and my care co-ordinator answered them yesterday. Well, it is cool not cold for Arizona but I think it is suppose to get a little warmer but not hot. Well, everyone, please have a GREAT DAY! GOD BLESS! Louise

Good morning Patty and all to follow,
It's raining a bit here this morning. I have some preparation to do for the TOPS meeting tonight and also some cleaning up. It's been awhile we got a great deal on a small hideabed sofa to put in one of the bedrooms instead of the full-sized bed (which took up lots of room). So yesterday DH and I moved an old sea chest that belonged to a relative who used it in the British Royal Navy. In those days (he died at a ripe old age when I was 4)the servicemen made their own seachests so it has sentimental value for us. DH is using it for an end table by the sofa where he sits. So we moved the chest out, upended the bed and were able to move the sofa down the hall into the room. I was going to offer the bed to someone at church or on Freecycle but DS#2 (who lives in another city) told me he would like it. DH figured out this morning he can fit it or tie it into the back of our pickup to move it up there. This morning our living room looks so much bigger without the extra sofa in there. All that to say I have more straightening up to do.
Patty, wood stoves are nice and comfy. I hope your husband will be able to get all that done soon so the wood stove can be used. He must be a great handyman. Those claw foot tubs are so nice and deep. I love jumpers. You'll have to let us know if you find a dress.

Good morning. I am up and awake. Always good to be awake when you are up, right???
Hubby and I are going to town later today. Maybe I can even find me a new dress. Now that would be nice. I do need some mock turtleneck long sleeve knit shirts for under my jumpers for this winter. Also, maybe some thick long black socks to wear to keep my legs warm.
It got down below freezing last night. brrr Soon we will need to start using the wood stove. That makes such a nice warm cozy feeling for me.
When I got home from being with Mom for the afternoon, hubby had been working on the bathroom wall downstairs. We, (actually he), are going to enlarge the bathroom, and put in a claw foot tub. The tub is sitting right outside the door down there, and the toilet and sink are in the main room. The furniture is all pushed to one side of the room. Oh my, what a mess, but it will be so nice to have a tub in there and make it a whole bathroom.
So, he needs to move the wall out, put the floor in, put the piping for the tub in, put it a new ceiling, put the tub in, put drywall up, paint...oh my. what a project. Poor hubby, We can't use the wood stove until that room is finished because thats where the stove is, and all the furniture is pushed up against that wall there. So now you know about the remodeled bathroom. Have a great day all. Patty www.afghanmaker6.blogspot.com
