Hi Everyone!

It just doesn't seem possible August is over and another summer has come to a close. The days are truly zipping by.

Paulissa it sounds like you are biting at the bit to get your Dr's go-ahead to get back to work. I'm glad you are feeling so good. How did your dishcloth come out?

Hi Vicki, how are you doing?

Louise isn't reading fun? Like you I love getting lost in a good book. What are you reading? I haven't found anything lately that took my interest. Don't forget that even if you go vegan you need protein. I tried a few years back but had a hard time figuring a complete protein. Easing into it might make it easier.

Ann I envy you the slightly cooler mornings. We are still hot and humid and probably will be for another 6 weeks.

Jan those canned tomatoes sound so good. Taste wonderful to just open the jar and eat a dish of them. They look pretty on the shelf too!

My newsletter came today. I haven't really read it stem to stern yet.

Not much news from my end of the world today. I do enjoy hearing about everyone else's day!

I've been canning tomatoes today. I have some tomatoes left and I think I'll puree them and make a marinara sauce.

I walked outside awhile ago and the sun is shining - it's beautiful out there. So I'm taking a break. I picked a nice zucchini and there are some tomatoes ready to pick. In this climate I'm thankful for every ripe tomato I get.

Time to check the mailbox for the newsletter.

Paulissa, It sounds like you are recovering well and enjoying some time at home. Did the dishcloth come out square?

Louise, Good idea to listen to how your body reacts to what you eat. Which Sweatin' to the Oldies did you do today?

Ann, I like to hear good news, too. I think I saw blueberries last time I was at Costco (last week). Not so many at the farmer's market. Mostly peaches right now.

Vicki, How is your week going?

Well, I'm going to take a good walk outside this evening. Also want to check out a little neighborhood grocery that advertised they were taking orders for Gravenstein apples. Always reminds me of my grandmother's house - she had some tall apple trees and a chestnut tree. Lots of lilacs.

I've been walking a mile a day just in running to the bathroom and doing what little I can around here but every little thing helps with the healing.

I have green bean soup in the crockpot and homemade bread (from the breadmaker) almost done.

Louise, we've been eating less red meat, no added sugar, as much as possible, etc and I find I'm not craving sweets so much but rather am craving fruit and veggies.

It is a wee bit cooler here, maybe because there was fog this morning and the sun didn't come out until 9:30 instead of 7 a.m.

Today half of the front page of the paper was a picture and story of the Ca. Little League winning the L L World Series. It is such a feel good story after so much other doom and gloom in the paper and on TV.

I went to Costco to get some frozen fish and much needed TP. Can't run out of that. Darn, they didn't have any blueberries. I hope the season isn't over. Generally we get some from British Columbia that are the end of the crops. Strawberries were plentiful. I'll try the local produce store for blueberries tomorrow.

Paulissa, Happy Anniversary early! I am so glad you are feeling better. Please don't rush things though.
I will still be praying for a great recovery for you.
Vicki, I hope you had a great day today. Today has been a lazy one for me at least the morning was. This afternoon I am going to do one of Richard Simmons Sweatin To The Oldies DVD's. Then I am going to work on continue writing the devotional. I had put it on hold for a couple of days but I am starting working on it again. I also have been catching up on a lot of reading. I forgot how much I love getting lost in books! Then I am going to make a stir fry tonight for supper. I did break down and ate a little meat yesterday as I was getting dizzy and it helped. I think I might not go completely vegetarian but eat vegetarian most of the time with once or twice weely just eat a very little meat. Well, everyone, please have a WONDERFUL MONDAY!

Good morning friends,

It is very cool here for August - mid 40s this morning and will be sunny and 74 today. I'll take it. It has sure been an unusual summer here, very mild temps and lots of moisture - the snails are loving it.

I am healing well; the stitches are nearly all dissolved except for a few inches and the pain is lessening. I see the dr. Thursday and find out when he's releasing me to return to work, etc.

I started working on a dishcloth last night; I hope it turns out square lol!!!

Next week is my wedding anniversary and I'm looking forward to a nice dinner with the hubs. My in-laws are coming to town that week also so it should be fun.
