Ann, I agree it's best to get things done early before the heat sets in. It's a good feeling to have nice clean floors. Your dinner sounds good.
Sarah, It's good to hear from you. I also hope the hurricanes don't come your way. Congratulations on quitting smoking. Hard at first, but it does get better and your health will thank you. I found doing good, deep breathing helped- really filling your lungs up slowly and then slowly blowing it back out.
I will miss the summer fruits and veggies, too, but I love autumn.
Well, it's 81 degrees which is hot here. Three of our TOPS members have let me know they won't be at the meeting tonight. Last time it was hot we went down to the basement where it was cooler and tolerable.
The Peach Sourcream Pie from august newsletter was really good. DH asked for another piece.
Well as usual we are having daily storms but no hurricanes yet! And I hope none.
Sunday I made the Zucchini from the Taste of Europe cookbooklet. It was 5*'s. I did have to cook it longer than the recipe called for, so if you make it give it extra time.
Can you believe it is almost September? This year is flying by. I am going to miss the summer fruits and veggies.
My eating has been out of control. I know the reason, I have quit smoking. I am trying to get back in control again but I just want to pick. Giving up smoking wasn't as bad as I thought it might be, just this incessant eating that is making me crazy. I have to find something to get my hands busy!
We didn't get any sun until 11 a.m. either. I should have gotten ambitous when it was still cloudy and cool. It's nice now but I'm hot and trying to cool down. I got DH to help me clean the family room. The white tile hasn't been cleaned in quite a while. Didn't look dirty but I knew it was. There were cob webs everywhere. I have 2/3 of the floor done. The rest will have to be tomorrow when I move the furniture to the other end of the room. I think I should get an extra calorie or two for all that work.
At least I have supper in the crock pot. Chicken breasts with soup and sour cream.

The fog is just now burning off and it's going to be a hot day. I've been outside watering. When I'm out there I think about doing another crop. I'd like to grow more spinach and there should be time to do leaf lettuce.
Today I plan to make a peach pie from the August newsletter. I need to get at it before it warms up.
I can hear a ship horn tooting - probably the fog. The sound carries up over the hill.
Do you have any end of summer plans? We aren't going anywhere this year but I do need to get out in the garden beds to clean up and plan to move or prune things this fall.
