Well, first week of class is over, but not the homework. Only covered four chapters in two days, now all of the homework that goes with it.
One of the problems with this homework, is that you have the procedure book open, the diagnois book and the text or workbook open all at the same time. These are all the size of a phone book (1-1/2 to 2 inches thick) I don't have enough space to spread out.
So, it looks like my cookin' adventure across the country will have to be put on hold, along with any kind of life until September 13th.
I haven't tried any of Jo's black bean and corn salads. But, I do love the Ranch Corn Salad from a newsletter a couple of years ago. And my favorite is one with cucumbers, I believe from the HE book, but I could be wrong.
Hello All, a lazy day here. I just got out my CHAA and I haven't tried very many recipes in it. Time to give it a look through again. I've got some salmon thawing for supper. I will just grill it on my George Forman grill and make a dill sauce. I've got some fresh green beans to use up and am thinking of making a black bean and corn salad. I'm trying to stay away from the green salads and easy on the green vegetables as DH blood is too thick again. Dang this drives me bonkers.
This month we are reviewing the Cooking Healthy Across America book!
So gals please add your comments on the recipes you tried!
I know the tuna twist salad is in there, and so is the maraschino spice cake. So please please add to the thread about what you thought! :)
I need to do the same! lol :)
Again any one have any good white chocolate pudding recipes of Jo's to recommend? Or pistachio, I have a ton to use up! :)
I got my walk and stair climbing done, but probably won't make it to the library because it's gonna rain it looks like. And the neighbor has one set of our keys and Vince needs to go to work. lol Vince forgot them in the door last night, so our neighbor picked them up, but she won't be home till late tonight. Apparently we didn't hear her at the door. *sigh* That's the problem with our apartment we don't hear the door a lot of times.
I missed reading about everyone's day yesterday but played catch up this morning.
Louise I'm so sorry for all the negative changes at your job. It is upsetting to say the least. Employers only think in $$$$'s these days. Years ago when you got a job there was loyalty on both sides, your job was secure. Sadly that is no more. Our world is changing.
Jan you inspired me! I made the Creamy Tuna Twist AND the Sour Cream Walnut Coffeecake yesterday. Two winners! Thank you for the great suggestions!
Every time I think our rain is over we have more. Hope ya'll are having nice summer weather.
No set plans for today, just taking life as it happens. I am still working at planning meals. I don't know why this is so hard for me. I can come up with an entree but then the sides are the work. Or vice versa. When you cook a casserole do you fix side dishes with it?
