A beautiful day here. DH and I went to lunch with 16 other former RVers and square dancers. One couple that came we hadn't seen in years. Funny I didn't remember she was so short. Several of the couples we hadn't known but it was a nice gathering. None of them dance anymore but a few of them still RV.
Shar, I like Joannas jello salads too. Also the ones with pudding in the mix.
Jan, I don't know about your flavored ice cubes. I think I will sick to just plain water. I don't even like lemon in mine, just lots of ice cubes.
I did put the Ham and Sweet Potato casserole in our recipe section. I just left out the ham. I also have another one I'll have to dig up that has sweet potatoes and fresh or frozen cranberries cooked in a crock pot. This recipe yesterday was perfect in my 2 quart crock.

Heather, I hope the sunshine returns.
Sarah, That's great about the crockpot liner. The ceramic liner in mine comes out and cleans up pretty good with a soaking but those liners sound interesting.
Shar, I got a lot done. I go at the weeds for about half an hour or more and then sit in the shade or come in to rest, then back at it. That peanutbutter pie sounds so good. Need to look up the recipe.
I made some flavored ice cubes this morning. They are to perk up your water. One was pureed cucumber with basil you put in the ice cube tray to freeze. Then there's water, lemon juice, a sprig of mint and it called for a raspberry but I didn't have any so I used a tiny slice of peach. The last one was orange juice with lime and lime zest.

Jan, I want to see that movie too, many people say it's as good as the first one. It was a weeding day for me also. We stayed home from the lake to do some jobs here at home and weeding my garden was one of them. I done it early before it got so hot. At least the humidity has gone down but still pretty darn warm.
Ann, I have never heard of sweet potatos and pineapple before. I will have to try that since I love them both.
I did make the chocolate peanut butter pie yesterday for dinner and it was so good. I want to go through some HE old newsletters to get some good jello salads.
Heather, I wish I could send you some sunshine! You certainly have been getting the rain there.
Well onto my next project which is cleaning the inside of my explorer. So I should get at it while I am still in the mood.
Everyone have a great Sat.!
You can also get a lot of groceries at Amazon.
Also Peapod.com here delivers.
I wish it would get sunny here! I am so tired of the rain, every day now for over 2 months.
I prefer to grate the baby carrots! They are easier to grate believe it or not! And yes I use a ordinary box grater and grate by hand. So give it a try!
Hi Jan and all that follow!
It is sunny and HOT here today. I love the sunshine though.
Your day yesterday sounds like lots of fun. It is nice just to get together with friends.
I haven't made a pie in awhile, got too hung up on the banana bread and sweet salads. I am in the mood for a carrot salad but no carrots! Isn't that always the way of it. LOL I have baby carrots but I'm not sure I feel like grating those. Probably more skin than carrots would be grated.
I am having a very hard time finding someone to shop for me. I have decided if ...no WHEN I get out of this chair I am going to volunteer for shopping or errand running for people. There is a need, I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Ann I have baked sweet potatoes and pineapple but I haven't tried them in the crockpot. I'm going to give it a whirl.
Speaking of crockpots, I found the greatest thing ever. Crockpot liners. I had problems finding the Reynolds brand so I browsed Amazon and found some. They are great and much cheaper than the name brand. I got 50 but wish I had ordered 100. No scrubbing your crock after cooking! I'm all for that. The 50 pack cost $17 and worth every penny and they fit all size crockpots.
There is a little lizard on my carport doing pushups, he's too funny.
I watched the videos on Utube for H.E. and really enjoyed them. I can't remember who was talking about them but thank you. I did have a bit of a problem understanding some of the things Gina said but all in all I really like the videos.
Hope everyone has a good day!
Don't forget to drink your water!!

Good morning everyone,
It's so good to see the sunshine streaming in through the windows. Coffee is made and I've had my walk around the garden. Seven golden lillies blooming on one stalk and more to come!
I had great fun going to Seaside with my friends yesterday. We sat and talked for a long time at the restaurant, then drove through the "ritzy" area which I hadn't seen before. It was fun seeing some remarkable homes and really great landscaping. Then we drove to another area down the road where more modest homes are going up, plus low-income apartments and a new, bigger Costco.
Today just has to be an "outside" day. Weeding - like death & taxes - will never go away.
There is space in my fridge for a JoAnna pie. Someone mentioned peanutbutter chocolate and that sounds mighty good!
DS brought out the juicer yesterday and was making apple/carrot/spinach juice. I was gone at that time so didn't see it but he drank it up.
How is your Saturday going?
